I'm a multimedia design student and all this knowledge I have is unconnected information, small bits of information about everything, not specific information about anything concrete. I learned how to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign well, but no one taught me how to actually start being designer, get recognized and get work! Your video gave me a sense of structure, where to start, what to learn first, and how to get where I want to be, so thank you!! You managed to help me more than 2 years of uni!
Love your comment! That's exactly how I felt too after spending 3 years studying design in college. So glad to hear that my video helps :)!
Antonela ok know right? I love it how he breaks it down for you to take such detailed steps!!!
I feel you.
Yes. I learned bits of everything in college, but very general and not in detail. For a job, you really need to dive deep into a subject. In my college they didn't prepare me properly on how to get a job either. My major was art and my minor was media and communication.
I’ll let him
With the internet and knowledge being free, its just a matter of your personal interest and drive. I have learnt ps , illustrator, indesign, corel etc all on my own .
bro in how much time u learned all ??
plz reply :(
@@rahulgaurr09 It was a continuous process. Basics are very important. Video is good for learning how to do stuff, but reading books and then doing practical is more effective.
@@MayurPanghaal Hello sir, where do you find those books?

Thanks for this man! added timestamp to the video.
I just graduated with a degree that I don't really have much passion for and was looking at learning graphic design and just want to say that I love this vid! It really gave me a sense of direction and I plan on starting soon!
great! graphic design is fun. Keep me updated with your process :)!
I wonder how are u doing now ?
how are you doing now mate? Have you gotten better at graphic design in this time
Hope you’re doing good!
I seriously and geniunely say THANK you for this video. I have a financial problem sooo its hard for me to enroll a graphic design school. But this video gave me HOPE. I also take down notes
That's the best comment I've had so far. Glad you find it helpful! Keep me posted with your progress and let me know when you find your first design job :)
Me too.. This video gives me hope as well.. Thank you Kayung Caleb Lai for this ..
You're welcome :)!
I'm in the same situation too, can't afford design school, can't get a job related to design since I don't have the skills yet now working full time to pay for a good laptop (which reminds me ANY good laptop recommendations for Product design? Please). This video really really helped a lot, I get a clearer mindset of what to do now. Really, thank you for giving these informations
yeeling9 ImAnOwl im saving money too to buy a good laptop so i can study on my own and practice.
I needed this. Thanks!
Thank you so so much for this video! This is just what I needed!
You’re the realest bro thank you I really need this video
Your steps make super sense!! I'll try it. Thank you for sharing :)
You know you're a beautiful human being when you just simply naturally mention how the weather is like outside. My man!
This is my main study guide/ Template I follow to learn graphic design
Good advice
just what i have been looking for
Very helpful. Thank you for the steps and suggestions.
This video is a life-saver! Thank you :)
it was a amazing self-study guideline i have ever seen thank you.
Thank you so much 😭❤️
Really, thank you so much. This was very helpful. It has given me a sense of what I need to know, a sense of direction.
There is so much information on the internet that it becomes so hard to understand where to start from! Great video!!
You inspired me! Thank you!
i'm working for 20 years now and this was very usful video .. thank you
This is great advice. I would also encourage graphic designers to learn how to prepare files for print, this is also a very technical skill like learning Ai or Ps but it doesn't take much time. I did not study GD but at my first GD job I had to learn how to prep a lot of flyers/posters/signs on different papers for print. If you're not sure how to prep a file for print call or email the printer they'll be happy to help.
Very informative thanks....I was practicing on inkscape on and off a few years...got back into that...then the other day I was like let me try Adobe illustrator and I dig it a lot...so I've been working with that for a few days now self learning
You have no idea how helpful this video was. I went the college route, but after graduating felt I didn't really LEARN the skills necessary to be successful outside the classroom and ended up not being able to do anything with my degree and that's been so stressful. I think this is really going to help me to try and get back on track. Thank you so much for this!
love to read comments like this! Keep me posted with your progress :)!
i’m watching this in 2021. full transparency with and pure facts 🔥

Glad you find it helpful!
This was exactly what I needed. Thank you sooo much for sharing and breaking down every step by step.
You’re welcome!
Thank you so much on behalf of designers who have taught themselves, there are so many reasons - financial and emotional and personal - reasons why we choose to learn at a pace outside of a school. Thank you for your support

Thank you so much for this video ❤
I have been learning design for a year now but I didn't give it a time sometimes I did nothing that involves design for months so I decided to start again and since I did the first two steps I'm gonna do a revision (I'm gonna look back at the first two steps) for the next 10 days after that when the new year starts I'm gonna do the other steps thanks.
also, I'm gonna update my comment the next year to see how far I went.
For a person who has drastic designs and doesn't have a clear direction of where she's going. This video really helped me a lot. Thank you
Great advice. Very useful to see the steps and time frames also.
Glad it helps!
This is my first video, but I just lightly went over your other videos and I must say, I can’t WAIT to start my journey. And I’m so happy that your video was the first I clicked on!! Thanks✨
Happy to hear that! Hope you'll find it helpful! Keep me updated with your progress :)
Thank you so much, most people tell you what to do but they don't tell you how to do it nor give you the tools and directions.
You're welcome! glad it helps!
To this day, this still has to be one of the BEST videos on this topic out there! A lot of videos just ramble on and dont really give specific steps on what to study and all that. So thank you for your clear, succint video!
Another tip that I think might help, and correct me if im wrong, but maybe looking at the curriculums of graphic design programs, seeing what they include in their classes, and looking up information based on those classes that they offer on your own.
Thanks Rachael! Really appreciate your comment. Glad to see this 5 year old video still helping people :)
