I REFUSE to close my eyes, nor my ears. ABSOLUTE MASSIVE HIT Great reference of good taste. Being 54 is feeling proud of that era that is alive and kicking
It would've charted higher than #40 in the US, if only Foreigner, Michael Jackson, Prince, Simple Minds, Tears for Fears, Bryan Adams, Paul Young, Duran Duran, Huey Lewis and the News, John Parr, Dire Straits, Heart, The Cult, A-HA, Whitney Houston, Mr. Mister, WHAM!, The Cars, Hall & Oates, UB40, Sade, etc, didn't exist. lol
@@crashburn3292 lots of good ones listed - but this tune is as good as many or better than most you have suggested. Why the contrary view? Peter Cox has a very distinctive voice; one that is different from many in the 1980s - a baritone in a sea of tenors.
Sometimes I think this went over the heads of pop listeners in the US - the vid got a huge amount of play on MTV but never cracked the Top 40 here. At least their re-hash of "Don't Look Down" did finally just barely do it in 1987. This whole album was absolutely brilliant - Peter Cox's vocals like slice through your spinal cord. Nice memories of buying this album at Camelot in Belden Village Mall just turning 20 in wonderful 1985.
This video looks a lot better now that you’ve remastered it. Kevin Godley and Lol Creme (formerly of 10cc) really knew their craft when it came to directing videos!
There's not really any point in asking questions about 80s music videos. The whole point of them is to be as weird and inexplicable as possible. That's why they're so fun.
Sometimes you just have to let art flow over you, lol. (And if anyone can name the 80s movie that quote is from, bonus points - without looking it up!)
Peter Cox was the Brad Pitt of singers in the 80s: "He's too good looking to be talented." Nope. Like Pitt, he was just a guy blessed with talent and looks.
If you want to know where this band got its sound from, check out The Quick's output such as Young Men Drive Fast, Zulu, Rhythm Of The Jungle, Hip-Shake-Jerk. The two groups were friends with each other for a time, and worked together in the studio. This is Young Men Drive Fast: ua-cam.com/video/W23YxBx3cPA/v-deo.html
I love and hate this song its been stuck in my head for 6 months I hadn't heard it since I was kid. I'm happy and sorry I listened to it every morning it runs through my head go west cam fuck itself plus the video is horrendous
still listening to this eighties hit in 2025
One of the best duos of the 80s.
This track is still killer - May 2023.
Still killer 2024 👌👌👌👌
@@gudoultunes Sure is - and beyond 2024.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Teenage life in 1985 was good in so many ways.
Amen!
Pessoal! Que saudades!!!
Got that right!!!
I'm agree
1984-1985 Maybe some of the best years in a great and memorable decade. Won´t ever forget.
Thanks for posting, I rather chose 80’s music.🎉
I'd put the bridge in this song up against anything, it's just the greatest middle 8 ever
We can't we have songs like today. This song is a masterpiece. The 80's music is the best despite the fact I wasn't born during that time.
Pete was a beast with the vocals ❤
These boys could tour this album in 2023 and it would be a sell out!
I REFUSE to close my eyes, nor my ears. ABSOLUTE MASSIVE HIT Great reference of good taste. Being 54 is feeling proud of that era that is alive and kicking
余りの懐かしさに思わず(涙)
この頃の洋楽が今と違ってとてもキラキラしてました。
Should've been a massive hit, as well as Call Me.
Unless a movie uses it, I could see this song being used for Guardians of the Galaxy 3
It was a massive hit in the 80s.........trust me, we played this nonstop on our tapedecks and recordplayers in 85.
@notspacedarlings this song was in the 1985 horror movie, Demons.

I started listening to the band because of GTA: Vice City, it's great to see remastered video clips, it shows that the band is still alive.
and Pretty Woman
What a great track and vid. I worked with basic CAD in 84/85 in engineering and would guess this video cost the record company big £££$$$ back then.
Slammin and Jammin 2024!
Sounds fantastic! Thanks for remastering this great song from a great 80's band!!
Alan Murphy's guitar playing on this album is phenomenal.
LOL I got no bloody idea what's going on in this video but I love it! I love the randomness of 80s music videos.
I have always loved Go West since its very beginning. Fantastic tracks and fun-written songs! Thank you!
❤ 80s🎉😎 the best 👌
man what a wonderful listen and thumping Bass ......The song is featured on the 1985 Italian horror film Demons.
I loved this song when I was a kid.
I had forgotten about this song. Until Richard Blade played it on his 1st Wave show on Sirius/XM today.
🎉favorite song from go west the video is 🤩

Great voice from Peter Cox
One of my favourite songs of that era, classic pop.
This is so good........38 years later and I think its even better than before.
It’s so wonderful revisiting those older classic songs. I can really appreciate the production, the musicianship and bad ass vocals.
I BOUGHT THE 12 INCH. AND IT'S LIVE STANDS STILL. GREAT SONG.
It's gr8, from first note to last. Proof that talent has nothing to do with success 😔
I like go west good group of the 80s we close our eyes Mary
Really looks like they had a lot of fun
My god 80s were savage
I found an old monkey wrench & it inspired me to seek out this class track
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

We aim to please :)
Such a spectacular song & his voice is so on the money.❤
Oh yes, loved this song!
Remastering this would be genious, only the intro ... Listening 2024 ... i am overwhelmed ...
Great old song. And probably the most unintentionally homoerotic music video of 1985, although Peter Cox is straight.
Go West amazing, brilliant 👏 brilliant live too . I want more 😊
I remember being teenager, and having the hots 🔥🔥🔥🥰 for the singer!! 😍
GREAT POP R AND B GOT TURNED ON TO GW IN LONDON GREAT MUSICIANS!!!!!!
Olá. Lembro-me de ver isto nos anos 80, uma boa recordação 👍
using human anatomy reference dolls as background dancers was so clever and creative
God I miss those teen years in the 80s. And can we talk about those high-waisted pants, lol?
This is the good stuff man.😊
great song.......just beautiful. Melody, words, beats. Lovely #classic
Thanks a lot!! Please "King Of Wishful Thinking" in HD. I love Go West.
Me encanta Go West y esta canción es de las mejores 🎶
Good song.😁
Can someone explain the reason for the background numbers?!
Why is Peter Cox holding a plumber's wrench?

GREAT WORK...
Love it!
I prefer this song over 'king of wishful thinking'
5 Stars
Absolutely LOVE this song, but NEVER understood this video with the wrench 🤔🤔🤔
Anyone know where I can buy one of those wooden dolls? I love them, and this is one of my all time fave songs!
Where are you? They sell them in ‘Tiger’ in the UK. It’s a German shop I think x
@@paulgduckworth I'm in Australia. It's ok I found a couple in an op shop :)
Any art supply place will have them. They're for learning how to draw figures.
Wow

Come on, it's the vest man ! Great music , but come on, he knew what he was doing , didn't he girls ! Phew !
15 year old me in 1985 was like 😮😍😛 something was stirring😅
@@Bella-fz9fy Ha ha ha 😍😊!
❤❤❤❤❤
I've heard this song since the day it was released and I still had no idea what it's about. 😕
I thought this was the best of their many hits back in the 80s.
👍😎. Love it. - Heather
MTV 1985. Babysitting, kind of. 😅
4k 60 fps version when?
If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it
2023?
What's with the background numbers?

This song would’ve been so good in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Agreed totally
The camera is an ARRI S.
What a great song, a piss taking narcissistic dream, I’m sure that was the intent only a foresight
Does anyone reckon Pete cox have a similar voice to peter gabriel.?
After watching this video, I’m embarrassed that I actually bought this album when it came out.
Upscaling a low resolution video does not make it HD, just because the video has more pixels. It is still a low resolution video. There is no HD here.
That is true. However, some music videos of the time weren't even of great quality to begin with, because they were shot for TV
@@eiffe The ones shot and edited on video. The ones shot and edited on film you could remaster in HD today by scanning the film again.
Awkward wardrobe...great song...that's 80s
