And also this actually does very good leveling because Ive seen alot of thyssenkrupp elevators and they do have a tendency to jolt over the floor and go back down to relevel

Nice elevator. The motor is very loud and cool. Weird how there is Traditional fixtures outside and Vandal Resistant inside.

At 2:03 its a 2 bell ring when going down because 1 bell ring means going UP and 2 bell ring means going DOWN.

That us weird that an elevator having 2 main floors and having a star. That is also interesting having levels C and 2 have stars. Why are those levels have stars ? I am guessing that they are both entrances and exits.

+Mini Elevator Central Hub The star indicates the main floor, odd that there are two of them. Could be the garage has entrance and exit on both levels. It could also be one of the floors could be connected to a building.

The messed up indicator has since been fixed.
They're safer, per se, because if the hydraulics have a catastrophic fail, the elevtor will not crash. It'll likely fall a little faster than it's normal speed, and land on the buffer springs in the pit.
Traction models have so many safeties, you're about 10,000 times more likely to be in a plane crash, than an elevator crash.
They messed up the indicator not the buttons

Very nice.
Now this is a nice TK elevator for a parking garage. A couple updates is that the messed up indicator has been fixed, and the call button 4, or the top floor, what ever you wanna call it, was replaced with an aurora fixture.
I thought they were, but my guess is that the ThyssenKrupp office in north Roanoke Va maybe had some old aurora buttons before they were discontinued in 2008.

Notice how ThyssenKrupp neglected to put in vandal-resistant call buttons. They also STILL use a regular, plastic, fire call cancel button.

any elevator can crash! however, the chance of being in an elevator crash, like georgef551 it is EXTREMELY rare. like one in billions of elevators crash. DONT be worried about elevators crashing. trust me

A roped elevator has a braking system on the car in case the ropes break. A hydraulic elevator is only supported by hydraulic pressure. A broken hydraulic line can cause the elevator to drop abruptly to the pit, this rarely happens if the lines, valves and piston seals are properly maintained but I would strongly discourage anyone from standing in the doorway of the elevator as there may be no other braking system to keep the elevator from dropping in the event of a hydraulic failure.
