But instead like in most other countries, the owner of this conference is the press itself. The government officials are being invited. And for a government official not to attend, that's a big thing. So there is no way for the government to influence which journalists could attend and who coulndn't. The government officials could not accept an invitation, but that would be political suicide (which some committed). The government has to answer to the people, not the other way around. The people are the sovereign. I know, the U.S. is the greatest country on earth (btw: ua-cam.com/video/4sJY7BTIuPY/v-deo.html ), but I think, that's a thing worth copying...

As someone from outside the USA, it really seems like the entire country forgot all they’ve learned in the past 50 years and regressed when they elected the 45th.
