I'll always have a soft spot for Lido because I stayed at Meliá Madeira Mare as part of my competition win to Madeira 5 years ago, which was when I fell in love with the island!
I actually dined at Mau.Feitio in April & also when is was Scat Club in 2017; Martinez is so knowledgeable with his wine, & he also told me that you're a familiar face of course lol!
I shot some drone footage around Ilhéu do Gorgulho at dusk which can be seen in my Madeira part 8 vlog when I changed location from Machico to an apartment off Estrada Monumental, the part running parallel to Praia Formosa, but alas, I didn't get a chance to visit the beach sadly!
I of course enjoyed last week's live from there & envied you relishing your poncha! I purchased a caralhinho from Mercado Agrícola do Santo da Serra, but I've not had a chance to make my own poncha as it's an artform as I recall you saying, but soon!

Thanks Rue! Yeah I’m a big fan of that area and of course of all the restaurants within the Mau Feitio umbrella só to speak, there’s are a few more from the same owner, of which all are favourites of mine! I spent many hours and euros at SCAT as well!

I am not sure if it is really worth to visit the GOLDEN GATE. The prices in GOLDEN GATE are exorbitant. In Funchal you can get a great coffee with croissant or nata almost at every corne. Believe me it costs much less.
The prices aren’t cheap no, and yes I agree there are lots of other places to eat croissants and pastéis de nata but I will be back for the waffles !! 😂

Olá Sara, infelizmente não tenho. Aprendi no terreno só, aprendendo pelo caminho, ler quando tenho curiosidade e falar com as pessoas. Adorava estudar, e talvez um dia ainda estudo, mas sei também que eu gosto de “trabalhar com as mãos” e com as pessoas, e por sorte, apanhei o melhor trabalho do mundo. 😁 Se a Sara e guia, adorava de conhecer um dia :)
Far superior beaches can be found by taking the ferry and spending the day in Porto Santo. Not a fan of the rocky or dark sand beaches in Madeira.
