I am so happy I found your Etsy Shop, etc. I am in the middle of watching the instructions for your journal class. I also am enjoying this video. I love your style…..lace, etc.
Gosh, Robin, thanks so much for posting this. I remember I was bowled over the first time I watched it. I am actually making one myself right now. I bought her kit because of you, but I found a pattern I like a little better, but I was at a loss on how to decorate -- until there was you, to quote the Beatles, Back when Paul was cute and they hadn't gotten into drugs -- sigh -- the only good part about being older (I'm older than you) is being there when the music was made. I was a little little girl when they appeared on Ed Sullivan, but , just like every other female who had a TV set, I sat in the cozy little den in my family home, on the floor and rejoiced in their presence. My father said: they could do with a haircut. Ha. True story -- not this tour, but on a later tour of America they came to my small town of Farmville, Va and stayed in these really awful roadway cottages they called them. Instead of rooms in a hotel, you got a small little cabin -- they stayed a long time, and the headline on the Thursday paper in all caps: Girls, you missed them. And they had pictures of them right there -- of course, I was elementary school by then, which was small, so one building housed grades 1 - 5 and all the older kids, I think I was in 2nd grade -- swore they saw them in different stores in town. Ha. As I got older, we, of course, loved Led Zepplin -- which our parents banned us from listening to -- and -- because they wore their pants too tight and had all those "evil" symbols on the album covers, we had to hide them under our beds -- ha -- and we'd switch out the records in covers from acceptable people. Ha.
Beautiful project Robin. Funny, but I too thought this would make for a beautiful shrine and I think I will do that when I make my next prayer journal. I have a couple of vintage holy cards that would be fantastic to incorporate!!!
Yes! That’s a great idea. I have some beautiful very old prayer cards from my grandmother that would be beautiful in this folio. Thanks for watching as always hugs!
I just love all the shabby beautiful you do! Also love watching them. I have a small suggestion. When gluing down pockets, if you glue the bottom flap onto the side flaps your tags will slide in the pocket easier. The tag won't get stuck on the bottom flap.
Yes it’s a marriage made in heaven, ribbons and lace! Yes, when I was five I was making outfits for my 6d doll from Woolworths with scraps from the dresses my Mom made for me and my sister. Mom showed me how to work the old Singer treadle machine and I’ve never stopped since. Beautiful project again Robin. Tfs. Xxo😘😘🦋💖
Jean Green Thanks Jean! Yes my mom and my grandmother both sewed so I learned everything from them. I got my first sewing box from one of my aunts who also sewed and I was elated. It was full of really cool buttons thread needle and also some fabric scraps. My sister got a sewing box too and I don’t think she was very happy about that ha ha Ha
You’re welcome Donna. I’ve been buying hug snug for a long time But the monitor on their site isn’t always accurate So I decided to share my recent purchase because I knew my followers would love these colors as well.
@@robindudleyhowes Thank you for telling me that. I noticed that Rose Beige didn't look so rosy on their site, but I ordered it anyway because it looked so pretty on your video. Can't wait to get it!
Thanks Robin! I’m looking forward to spending some time creating in such a beautiful environment at Kims event and hanging out with you. I may make up some fun bundles with the hug snug for some gifts and maybe die them.
This is adorable! I have bought many digitals from "My Porch Prints." I love her shabby, vintage, feminine style. (I've always been a girly girl) Can't wait to see how this turns out! Hugs, Cindy
Cindy Click I know right! It’s funny because I am a girly girl too but I also like a little bit of antique-y grunge added to the mix. Her digitals are truly beautiful and I really appreciate her tutorials that she gives with each purchase
TheFireFlyStudio67 Hey Gina! Thank you so much for watching that’s very sweet of you. You are a wonderful artist and provide beautiful projects Through your channel. Thanks for watching!
I just ordered every color you have of the seam binding. I wanted to order some different colors but did not know what to order. Thank you. Also ordered another kit by My Porch Prints!
Hello Robin, love your file folder...!..and Porch Prints is a favorite if mine, too. Could you spell out the full name of the "Ribbons by Zi..." as I cannot find the site in etsy...thank you! It will be another month before I can commit to your boho course, I'll be able to focus next month than at this time...;-)Thanks for sharing so much beauty!!
Pam Kennedy Thank you! If you click the link that I posted in the description box it will take you directly to zipper stop which is the name of the company that sells hug snug
Just love this! I have watched many of your videos and wonder if you can share where you find the lace that you "rip apart" I'm assuming it's coffee dyed. I'm always so paranoid to rip lace . Hahaaa I spend so much cutting it precisely. Please do share if you can. I also love #myporchprints and plan to download more of her digital kits.
Dawn Seeman That lace that I rip apart is very old that’s the only reason why it tears ha ha! Yes it is coffee dyed and was left in a sunny room for years so its brittle.
Thank you Renea. If you’re talking about the two altered file folders that I showed in the beginning of the video That is actually sari silk If you Google it you should find several resources. That sari silk Was purchased several years ago
Renea Crawford oh ok. I have made so many of those altered file folders it’s hard for me to know what I used on yours but I do like the color, Dusty Olive which is a beautiful color made from hug snug. I hope that helps!
