    Don't use the Loctite stuff as your fluid man, I used to use that but after awhile my cartridges kept exploding, found out that stuff is an acid in liquid form and it eats away at the inside of the cartridges until the pressure inside is too much for the now thinner walls to handle, then boom, had to pull a cartridge out of my shoulder and then go get an awkward hair cut, ended up looking like Andrew Garfield from Tasm1 when he was testing his web shooters.

      Yeah, I already knew that. Read the sds sheet before I started. Even if I didn’t, I used acetone to increase viscosity anyways, Which would probably at the very least would soften up the lighter cartridge over time. To account for that, calcium chloride was used as a desiccant to dry out the cartridge. Cyanoacrylates cure on contact with moisture, so I wanted to minimize clogging. then after insertion of the fluid, it was meant to dissolve and saturate any solvent components to also minimize damage to the cartridge walls. But it’s not a solution I’m comfortable enough to take as a 100% certainty. That’s why I used all my cartridges pretty much immediately after filling them. Im going to pin this comment because some people have been asking for the formula and I was irresponsible enough to not put a disclaimer. The best solution is the simplest one that I’m currently working on: just make metal cartridges.
      Edit: I do very much appreciate the advice though, sorry about your accident, sounds like it hurt.

      @@schizo4725 metal cartridges do sound nice, but I like being able to see how much webbing I have left in a cartridge, and the injury was back in 2018 so I'm all good now, ended up making my replacement fluid just before I graduated high school and perfected the thing in college, no clogs, unlimited usage, biodegradable, and it even smells good which is a great plus, only issue with it is that it doesn't work in cold weather which I'm trying to perfect for when I do winter performances (I'm Spider-Man as one of my jobs and being able to shoot webs is like one of my main tricks)

    Hey guys, just a little update from your friendly neighborhood Schizo. Most of you are probably new, but I'm so sorry for not uploading in so long. School got a little crazy but rest assured I'll be uploading more regularly again, probably one or two videos every few weeks/ a month. I also planned on putting way more effort into this video, but I was honestly sick with covid for most of the time I made it. I'm feeling all better now. Expect more content from me soon!

    What are the ingredients in this fluid? Is there a video on it? None of your other web fluids seemed this thick. Nice web shooters too BTW, I don't really undestand a lot of how science equations get to differant results, but I can understand how that specific chemical reacts with that one. Which is why I'm taking inspiration from multiple youtubers, but your's seems the most sleek.

    • @schizo4725
      @schizo4725  7 місяців тому

      Glad you like the design! I go into more depth about this web fluid on my latest web shooter video. It is mostly the same ingredients but the newer one had polystyrene added. It’s probably a combination of the camera lighting and maybe but probably not the differing lighters used as cartridges that gives the webbing here a thicker appearance over the screen.

    So I’m making my own version of these and I was curious, how did you make the mechanism to lock the cartridge in? For the life of me I can figure it out, I think I can figure other stuff out for my version, I’m working on my own version of web formula for now, when testing if the cartridges work I’m gonna use soap and water, once mine works I’m going to actually play with the formula for my webs

    • @schizo4725
      @schizo4725  7 місяців тому

      There isn’t much of a mechanism really, it’s just a tight enough friction fit lol. It’s just tight enough that it won’t slide out but If you don’t have the trigger lever down and thrust your arm forward really hard the cartridge will fall out.

    Now why did you put a fuel restrictor back into the cartridge after removing it my lighter web shooters have nothing on the inside apart from the fuel just curious

    • @schizo4725
      @schizo4725  2 роки тому +3

      The short answer: i tested with and without the tube, and the tube was better.
      The long answer: fluids generally do travel faster after going through a narrower tube down to a certain diameter. I don’t know the specific. When you pinch a hose at the end, as long as you’re not death gripping it or squeezing too much length, it’s probably going to shoot water out faster. When you increase the pressure by adding a tube, the liquid flows faster through that restriction. Another reason is that as your web fluid decreases, all the liquid is going to be at the bottom, if the tube isn’t there, then you lose a whole lot of energy and pressure inside the cartridge just to get the fluid up to the nozzle. The only case of course where that doesn’t apply is if you’re pointing the web shooters straight down.

      I honestly wish I could tell you, i kind of just found a handful of them a few inches long lying around and cut them. But they had a luer lock on the end (syringe attachment), so it’s probably some wide diameter needle for a syringe or maybe a marinade injector.
