- Each year I pick out one bible to use for nearly ALL my Bible reading. I am doing individual videos on the Bibles I am considering and this one is all about the NRSV Catholic Bible Journal Edition. And if you want an NRSV journaling or wide-margin Bible...this is one of your best bets.

I was raised catholic, went to catholic school for elementary and then when I got to high school, my parents enrolled me in public school due to it being closer and it not making sense to put me on a bus for over an hour to go the catholic high school. The high school I went to didn't incorporate religion into the curriculum so I lost touch with my faith and I unfortunately have for longer than I'd like to admit. Due to some tragedies in my family lately I realized I needed to be right with God and Jesus. So I purchased this Bible. I put all my tabs on and even highlighted some passages that resonate with me. But now im stuck on how to journal the word. While I'm artsy and creative, my first thought is to put colour into my Bible which I will eventually do but I also want to journal in a journal book as well so I can make sure I really understand what I'm reading. It's a routine I'm hoping to incorporate into my daily routine either before work or after. I've had so much guilt build up for not embracing my faith.
I was there too and now I LOOOOOVE my Catholic Faith
I pray that you get back to it. Please go to confession if you have not done so. Make sure you get back to mass.
Will pray for you
Good video and refreshing to hear a pastor who does not have a hang up about the Deuterocanonical Books. I was raised Catholic - and it will always be close to my heart even though I do not really follow all Catholic doctrine now. These books are of historical importance if nothing else. Looking forwards to your final choice for 2023 )
Yeah. I’ve got a FUNNY story about the deuterocanonical books I think I need to share in a short.
You should come back. Pints With Aquinas is a great resource.
I didn't realize there were Bibles using the dot grid layout! (I loathe solid lines like a notebook; it makes me feel bad seeing empty space.) Thanks for the quick review!
oooo look at that beauty!!!! All the features I love. Great tactile feel, dot grid, single colmn wide margin, lays flat. And NRSV! Why I feel in love with it. And it looks far less like a gr. 8 text book.
I should qualify for other commenters I am Catholic. I found out about this bible cause I was looking for a nicer Catholic bible, which oddly seems challenging to come by. It's my first hardback in a long long time and certianly wont be the last one. I think it will be a hard time to upset this as my go to bible. Maybe I'll vary colours year to year, but dang it's near perfect for my wants.
I'm just glad you turned me onto it!!!
That is a cool bible!
I just purchased this bible before seeing your video I'm so sad I didn't use your link!
Hope you like it! And no worries!!!!
NRSV My favorite too!
Now I’m bummed I just spent double the money on a different Catholic Bible and this one is more my need 😩
Thats quite a contender!! Like an O.P. NOAB!
I just purchased my 2023 Bible today! Super interested in seeing what you end up going with.
Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus
Does this bible [NRSV Catholic Journaling] have book introductions????
It has short ones.
I’m looking for Catholic easy to understand bible, would you recommend this one? Does it have like from the start genesis, etc? Tyy
Yes, I think it's easier to understand than the Douay Rheims or King James. It's a complete Catholic Bible so it has all of the books from Genesis to Revelation.
The RSV translations are very faithful to the original languages and are easy to read.
