Two ex lovers, Bill (David Duchovny) and Willa (Meg Ryan) get snowed in at a regional airport overnight. Indefinitely delayed, Willa, a magical thinker, and Bill, a catastrophic one, find themselves just as attracted to and annoyed by one another as they did decades earlier. But as they unpack the riddle of their mutual past and compare their lives to the dreams they once shared, they begin to wonder if their reunion is mere coincidence, or something more enchanted.

There many movies that are not about that and that are good movies and we have many writers that are brilliant and we live in a time where the film industry has developed so much they understand story telling better than ever! . This is likely the first movie I will go to the theater to see in over 5 years. This is the kind of movie that Hollywood had completely forgotten how to make.
And with a budget of only $3 million no less. Please, we need more movies like this.
And you not going to see a movie in the theater for five years is part of the reason Hollywood doesn’t make movies like this that often! Hollywood is about making money and the best way to do that is to produce movies that target audiences who frequent the theaters, leaving rom-coms for couch surfing streamers. They spent $3million on this movie and it will more than likely make money because of the stars and the number of infrequent visitors like you finding their way to the theater to see it. The sad thing is that it will perform well at the box office and they’ll attempt a sequel in a couple of years that will end up flopping because it shouldn’t have happened or it should have streamed.
@@CalvinHicks1I agree with you on everything, except the end. I know there's a couple exceptions but the great great majority of rom-coms do not get sequels no matter how well they do critically.
@@CalvinHicks1 Hollywood no longer makes movies like this because they are too busy chasing billion dollar blockbusters. And not realizing that not every movies needs to be a blockbuster. We have less movies put out every year in the theater than any time in my life, and to be honest most of them suck.
@@djspi Exactly, in fact it is damned rare for a RomCom to get a sequel at all. The closest most times is like Meg Ryan - Tom Hanks and Drew Barrymore - Adam Sandler got together to make another one. Not a real sequel, but trying to recreate the magic of the earlier movie.
It is simply not a kind of movie that really makes for sequels. Could one imagine a sequel for Ghost? When Harry Met Sally? The Wedding Singer? Or even My Fair Lady?

I know, right? Modern times has pretty much killed old school rom-coms as every female character has to be a girl boss & strong etc. the only two proper old school rom-coms I can think of over the last couple of years would be “Me Before You” & “Last Christmas”. Love them films ❤️

Not your typical rom com.You just have the two actors in the entire movie in one setting. But Meg and David are so great that you feel the pain of the characters, the love they lost and tvhe love they still have.

It's really good for the budget. Dress up an abandon shopping mall to look like an interior of an airport and you don't need anything else.

Thanks for this. I was 22 when When Harry met Sally came out in Italy and I was so in love with a guy who liked me too but not as I did. We broke up few years later and lost each other.I met him just few years ago after 26 years.
I love this very much, I can't remember the last time there was a proper rom-com released (traditional, old-school, secret sauce) and these two as the lead c'est magnifique'.It looks like a two-hander, and I literally can't wait to see this.

It makes me sad that society forces women to feel like they have to hold back time with surgery. She was beautiful and she's still very attractive. She shouldn't have tried to "correct" her looks. They're unique.
