To the members of the LGBTQ+ community I hope find this message. I say this as a Heterosexual Catholic Man; God does not hate you, he made you as you are whether you're attracted to the same gender or identify as one you weren't assigned at birth. He loves you all and all are welcome to his paradise. It pains me to see others twist his words to fit their hateful views and it breaks my heart to hear of the torment they inflict upon others they deem lesser. Please know that these people speak only for themselves and not for God. You are all deserving of love and are loved. I may not be a part of your community but I only see you all as you are, fellow humans and my siblings. I hope this message helps and I hope only the best. ❤

I grew up in the church and used to be Baptist but now I simply consider myself spiritual. Christianity is honestly a religion most only follow behind because it’s expected of them especially depending on upbringing. I found a new path after being told that me being molested was apart of god’s plan because I knew that couldn’t be so. The Bible doesn’t speak on sexuality nor emphasize gender until 1946. It mainly spoke on pedophilia. For man to lay with child not with man. You learn a lot once you step away from harmful practices but the bible is only a device that’s used for everyday life but it’s up to you to decipher it’s true meaning. These are also some of the same people opposed to witchcraft but you blow out candles on a cake, knock on wood, and eat the body of Christ which are all forms of rituals.

    TW: Religious Speak
I was raised Catholic and attended a Catholic school from ages 5-15. As someone who has actually learned doctrine and core Christian beliefs, it is sad to see that people think, "respecting all people" doesn't include certain groups. It would seem we have ventured far from what I believe the teachings should have been. Respect is deserved by anyone just trying to be respectful and live their lives. My thoughts on cancel culture are... complicated and controversial as a trans person. A core belief in Christianity actually is to love your neighbor as yourself. Never does it say "love the neighbors you deem as sinless as yourself." In fact, no matter what you think (I don't think being transgender is sinful cause well... Jesus never taught hatred, especially given trans people were prominent during his life), but EVEN IF you think that being trans is sinful, didn't Jesus love sinners? Last I checked, 99.99% of the people he spent time with were sinners. So... there really isn't an excuse. There's no excuse in the religious doctrine or in the "normal" public eye. Now, on a different note, people like this do make trans lives harder to live. As a trans woman, I should know what a large majority of trans people have to go through daily. It ranges from looks in the store to attacks both physical and mental. The part that bothers me isn't that trans people aren't allowed in (it's her event, she can allow whoever she wants). My problem is her reasoning. If it were something like, "ok, we only want cis women here because we're celebrating cis women," there would be no issue with that. However, trying to cite the Bible to justify hatred to a community is... wrong. I do hope that anyone who is Christian does think on what I've said here. Automatic hatred for ANYONE just because of something they cannot control is unjustified and wrong. Hopefully, I don't have to remind anyone of periods in history where people were massacred because of traits they cannot control (nationality, gender, race, etc). As always, please make sure to have a wonderful day and take care of yourselves :)

Even if you ignore the rest of the bible, one of the main teachings is the last supper where Jesus ate with criminals and prostitutes and the "lowest of society" and said he was no better than any of them, even as the son of God, because he too has sinned. Everyone is a sinner, we are born sinners, and you cant hate one sin more than the other or one sinner more than the other, we are all equal. I didnt like Christianity because all i knew was "god hates lgbt+" and basically supported these people's bigotry but once i actually sat down and learned more of the religion, i may disagree with some passages but most of the teachings i can get behind. Jesus was a pretty cool and chill dude, i respect him a lot and i respect that god changed a lot from the first testament's teachings. Which also begs the question, if God changed his ways from the first testament, why cant he change from the new testament?
Edit: wanted to be clear and make a quick edit coming back to this comment and rereading it. I dont believe god hates the lgbt community, i meant i learned he did through "christians" saying he did. "The new testament, the one we follow, says god is a bigot so we must be one too 🥰" um.. no? It was written in the first century. You're telling me he had 19-20 centuries to change his mind on a couple things but he still "homophobic and transphobic etc" nah bro. I think he either changed his mind and grew with the times, or wasn't a bigot in the first place bc that doesn't really make sense. Stealing is a choice. Drinking or getting high is a choice, that's why they're sins. You can choose between good and evil. But as we know, we can't control who we are attracted to. God made each of us, im sure he doesn't hate lgbt people if he's literally making us? Thats like being allergic to peanuts or at least despise them to the point you constantly get sick around them but you work in a peanut butter factory. Idk man, doesn't add up. He's fair and just, he doesn't hate people for who they are. It's how you choose to behave when you know what's right and wrong.

When it comes to the expression that Christianity/religion is "under attack", one common thing about the individual making the claim is more-often-than-not THEY are the one who first brings their faith into the light, and often during or after a statement or action against someone else or another group. Their faith is both their sword and shield. In their eyes, it's the justification and protection for Why they feel/act/say in this way. It's the religious equivalent of wanting to have their cake and eat it too.
Plus, last I checked - and maybe it's due to my own "echo chamber", but when's the last time we've seen/heard the headline when Christianity was being directly targeted without having thrown the first punch? I consider myself extremely news away and I can't recount a single time I've seen a student at a private catholic school, or member of a Christian church, denied service or access to something based on their faith alone.

It was more commonly the ultra religious different Christian types like Jehovah Witness, uhh.... I think Protestant church? And one other i can't quite remember which almost had a cult like demeanor. The type that they'd prefer their kid be homeless than marry a guy they chose, or befriended someone who was unsure of God. Who believed shorts and pants on women/girls were EVIL. Any non-Christian music, T.V., etc., was EVIL.
I.... uh.... *tainted* one of my friends into liking Pokemon. She had to keep it a 100% secret. She was also the one who was abandoned while still technically a minor. She wanted to go to collage, and not be married off to a older man in their church like her older sister- and later younger sister. She slept in a car, attending collage which she had earned a Scholarship for. The dean found out and actually helped her out when dhe called and updated me.
Unfortunately despite being extremely close, her family moved across Country. We kept in contact but i did worry when she stopped calling. Or A.I.M. messages. [Early A.O.L. days lol]
She found a Christian man, eho just wasn't crazy and respected people. They tried to sabotage her so she went zero contact with a court order to leave her alone. I attended her Star Wars themed Wedding. :) Her side was Sith, Husband's was Jedi. ;u; She made me turn to the dark side, lol.

I respectfully disagree with cancel culture not being a thing, or maybe we're all not decisive on the definitive definition of 'Cancelling' a person/group. However, I do feel that canceling a person or group is rare; the only solid case that comes to mind right away would be DaddyOFive.
I'm sure the Daddy, and Mommy, of that UA-cam channel are out there working 9-5s right now; Daddyofive got canceled for their content pranking their kids going so overboard. After severe backlash, they tried posting a BS apology video and even were on Good Morning America where they looked like idiots.
They tried coming back as 'FmilyOFive' and UA-cam deleted that channel too.
They tried just having their own website and posting videos on it but they had to pull all of their video footage containing their kids, AND the dad got sentenced to 5 yrs probation for one count of child abuse. It's not a huge sentence but it's enough to prove abuse.
In my humble opinion, they have successfully been canceled. They have a channel up now called TheMartinFamily, but you can tell from the comments that ppl still don't like them and don't want to support them.

The comments and the video itself taking issue with someone trying to uphold their beliefs while hosting something with no outside affiliations, at least none that could be gathered from the context of this video, are genuinely abhorrent. The people celebrating are grotesque and inhuman. Doing something positive in your own space on your own time should not have negative consequences, regardless of which groups you include or exclude. Those of you who are happy this person has lost any part of their livelihood are genuinely disgusting creatures that need to examine themselves very closely. This is not a trans rights issue, nobody has a right to play videogames or participate in tournaments. Nobody has a right to be in any space they so choose. Being excluded does not equate to bigotry. This person is no more a bigot than any of us for getting a cat instead of a dog or vice versa.
The person hosting the tournament wanted it to be female only, as much as it sucks to be excluded from something you may want to participate in, you cannot and should not try to force your way in to a space you are not wanted or welcome. Not everything is for you or about you. It's a hard pill to swallow I'm sure but that's how the world works. Perhaps the error is a linguistic one, as the tournament was tagged as "ladies" only, however the intent was for females only and that should be respected.
Trans people have their own spaces and could host their own tournaments or engage in other trans inclusionary events. This person towed the line for other women's events and was not against trans people participating. They were okay with trans people participating or at the very least willing to set aside their religion and their beliefs to co-exist with trans people in those spaces which, however bigoted anyone may think those beliefs are, is a huge deal. Society is formed of many compromises of ideals and if someone truly doesn't want trans people in certain spaces then them being tolerant of exactly that is huge win, is it not?
If they're okay with trans people in women's events they're involved with and actively working for then why is it an issue for them to exclude trans women from personally hosted female spaces? It seems like the tolerance has been dropped and now only acceptance is allowed. Trans women, women as they may be in current year, are not and will never be female. It is not hatred or bigotry to acknowledge that and it is not hatred or bigotry to exclude trans people from male or female recreational spaces.
This person IS a victim and it's disingenuous to pretend or portray otherwise because what she lost was a result of excluding trans people from a female only space, regardless of how well or how quickly she recovers.
As a side note: Hearing about the religious person in Aaron's life sucks, sorry you had to go through that. However my comment may be perceived I do think people of all walks of life should be shown kindness as the default, I just don't think every person has a right to be in every space.

If you say this person is a victim for not being wanted in those sponsors spaces, then every person in existence is a victim, cause there will always be a space theyre not wanted in, no matter if their intentions are good or bad.

@@YoshuaMidas I'm glad you agree, meaning there should be no issue or backlash. Being excluded from something you are not a part of where the people there do not want you is much different from losing out on income due to your political or religious beliefs. One group of people was excluded from a gaming space that was meant exclusively for females, one person lost income over something that happened in a space unaffiliated with their work or sponsors because of identity politics. These things are not the same. One of these is vastly worse and sets a dangerous precedent of being forced to go along with things you disagree with in your PRIVATE life or face consequences at your job. That is to say nothing of setting that precedent that transwomen should be allowed into female spaces.
People are conflating exclusion from a privately hosted tournament with exclusion from the game and official events as a whole and using it as an excuse to deem the person in question as something she is not.

It is not like it's the people's reaction that lead to this. It's the creators action.

For whoever hates their brother or sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.' -1 John 4:20
This also disproves not bekng able to use "they" as a pronoun because the translation use it as such.
