Good tip to remove the sway bar links! I have seen others fight that back bracket. It can be done but your way looks easier. Thanks for sharing!

Just got done doing both sides on the Malibu 2010...was easy...but i did not remove the sway bar...there was plenty of room for me to get an open ended box wrench on those top nuts...and to fit in the new control arm...with sway bar intact. Thanks for your tutorial...I learned to fit in the ball-joint FIRST...before attaching the other ends..if not, ball-joint's pinion cannot travel up in its clamp-hole.

If I might add a step. And it is a pain in the butt step:
On an 09 Malibu with the 3.6 flex fuel engine, you have to loosen the motor mount nuts, upper & lower, on the mount that is ahead of the forward control arm mount. You then have to raise the engine enough that the bolt can be removed. If not, you will never get it out.
From what I understand, this problem is unique to this model / engine application.
This will also require unpinning the forward wheel well liner at 3 places and folding it up to get to the upper nuts.

Nice video! You can also take the new control arm bushing off first and install that piece with the two bolts for easier alignment.
And at the end, to install it properly, you’re supposed to have the weight of the vehicle on that control arm and then torque the bolts to specs.

Nice job ! Thanks for the tip that removing the sway bar link makes it easier . How cool is it that you can speak two languages . I only speak one , that makes you twice as smart as I . lol

You are doing it all wrong , you never tighten any bolts unless you have them all in . There are easier ways to work , and the sway bar links dont need to be removed to do this job ...
