I don't believe it is good to tell people how to live their sexual health (such as suggest being in a long term monogamous relationship, or wear condoms). Part of sexual education should include: it is your choice how you experience your sexuality, just get tested regularly and refrain from having sex while having an infection.

I am a sexual health nurse and It goes against work ethics to tell people how to live their sexual life (at least in Australia). Suggestions should include sexual health responsibility and education rather than telling people to wear condoms and have only one sexual partner. Truth is people are going to do whatever they want to do, so it is better to teach them about signs and symptoms and the importance of regular testing and refraining from sex whilst having an active infection. But telling them "you should always wear condoms" or "you should have sex with only one person" is unrealistic and comes across as a moral/religious class, patients will fear coming to see you as a practitioner because of being judged.
