I love the interview where Billy is talking about his dad having to sell the Martin.. I have a similar story about my family 150 year old banjo.. It was actually taken by my late mothers boyfriend... The banjo had been in our family since it was new and passed through the generations.. Through a bunch of strange circumstances, I now have the banjo back.. I have watched this probably a 100 times! It is friggin beautiful! Billy the Kid is probably glad Mr Billy strings is coming along 150 years later. Who would be quickest lol
This takes me back to the early 90's when I was about eleven going to the Smoky Mountains for vacation, we would stop off at a little produce stand somewhere close to Nantahala Valley and end up listening to a couple elderly gentlemen play like this.
Maybe, but Elderly has guitars Terry and Billy would ask nicely to play. I sold my Dad's old Martin through them and what they have available (kind of dynamic inventory) sometimes is incredible.
Watching Billy is so much fun for me. I adore the fact that he knows the old songs my own Daddy used to sing with my sons. Having only known Billy for a year he has become a real blessing in my life. I wish him all the best that life has to offer.
How am I just now finding this? Damn these 2 fellas are plain and simple good as hell. I could sit and listen all damn day long. Looks like the fella on the left hunts to. Its deer season now and I hope your having a good one. Well done yall.
What a lucky, very fortunate young man to grow up with a dad that would give him such a gift. The kid is a monster player, and it's got to be largely because of Mr. Barber, whom is a fantastic player in his own right. What a way to grow up, jamming with your dad, his friends, family members, wow.
The bond they share through creating music is just so perfect and beautiful. The block of ice around my heart melts just a little, watching this video.

oh wow i see where billy got it from now. terry is amazing!
I have watched this probably a 100 times! It is friggin beautiful! Billy the Kid is probably glad Mr Billy strings is coming along 150 years later. Who would be quickest lol
Wow! Real easy to see where Bill inherited his talent and hot licks!!
This takes me back to the early 90's when I was about eleven going to the Smoky Mountains for vacation, we would stop off at a little produce stand somewhere close to Nantahala Valley and end up listening to a couple elderly gentlemen play like this.
Billy Strings is a NATIONAL TREASURE... may GOD keep him on the straight and narrow. Don't fumble the ball Billy!!!!
LOL>>> What do You Play lol
ive watched this video 800 times (literally) and it never gets old
Those instruments just went up in value, especially that mandolin.
Pops is living his best life here...
Man, I would love to have walked in on that!
Watching this makes me just stare at my guitar and wonder how I can pick it up again... I’m so blown away!!!
Bluegrass is real talented music. Mainstream musicians could never come close to people like this.
How am I just now finding this? Damn these 2 fellas are plain and simple good as hell. I could sit and listen all damn day long. Looks like the fella on the left hunts to. Its deer season now and I hope your having a good one. Well done yall.
Great hearing the father son jam session. Blessed 🙌
I hope to play like this with my son one day! This never gets to old to watch! 🙏❤🇺🇸
