Finding Royal Treasure In London! | The Armoury St James | Kirby Allison

- Опубліковано 16 лип 2024
- The Piccadilly arcade in London is home to a number of incredible shops, dedicated to quality and craftsmanship, and among them is the Armoury of St James. This shop boasts one of the finest collections of military memorabilia and royal artifacts found anywhere in the world!
I have heard about this shop before, and during my walking tour of Jermyn street with good friend Eddie Sahakian, he mentioned how fond he was of the shop. So today I am finally getting the opportunity to head inside and meet with team member Toby Pennington, to learn more about their incredible history and the wonderful items they have in store.

Beautiful suit. Which bespoke tailor made it?
“We don’t care what he thinks.” Hilarious.
I need some advice with houndstooth jackets. What to pair with?
💯👍👍
Super interesting video, just a quick addition. The brooches shown at 16:04 has an inscription in German, which translates to: “I serve”. Something I found quiete odd.
Jason, this is the Prince of Wales' motto dating back to the 14th century at the Battle of Crecy during the 100 Years' War. I'd definitely read in more depth, but one possibility is that John, King of Bohemia (John the Blind) showed such chivalry during the battle, fully blind yet still charging into battle out of duty (have a read, I'm really breezing over detail). The Black Prince was said to be so impressed he adopted the motto and the ostrich feathers and is still used to this day. This account is unconfirmed, but I think as likely as any. Nevertheless, Ich Diene, as it's written, is on the tomb of Edward, Prince of Wales at Canterbury Cathedral.
@@michaelbrowne4166 ah very interesting. I am not that familiar with royal history. So this just seemed worthy of pointing out. But thank you for Clarifying this for me.
Wonderful and kind of disgusting at the same time - thank you this was great :)
Do you like watches?
Probably a dumb question but is that a shop ? Or just a showroom for genuine historical purposes
It's a real shop.

Enjoy it while you can, history is a dirty word in Britain these days 😢

Stolen treasure...
How many times does he say absolutely, most annoying and un necessary
I didn’t notice as I was so taken with all the wonderful items on display. Oh how terrible I now feel. I am most absolutely unnecessarily annoyed !!!
