Black hair is the most versatile it can be curly , straight, loc, it can bounce swing and when press you can’t compare the natural shine.. black girl magic 😊

ALL natural hair has to ability to be silk pressed, it just takes the right tools and steps. Doing a silk press on yourself is not easy, no matter what your hair type, thats why many people go to a salon to get it done. Thick hair when silk pressed a lot of times comes out BEAUTIFUL, so you never know until you try. Knowing what hair type you have can be tricky - I will be doing a video on it in the near future. Hope that helped! ❤️ -BGG2B
As far as my knowledge goes, I believe you could. It may not have the same shine and body as when done on natural hair, but it you have healthy permed hair I dont see why you couldn't have a successful silk press.❤️ -BGG2B
The main factor that makes natural hair curl back up is water. So hot or cold weather isn't what reverts your hair, its the moisture in the air, and when your body starts sweating, releasing moisture from your pores - including your scalp and neck. So anytime there is going to be moisture in the air, is not a good time to get a silk press, especially if your hair is quick to revert. Miami is not only hot, but I do believe the air is heavy with moisture. The good thing is that there are products made especially for hair to block moisture from getting in, something you can look into to get your hair to revert less quickly. Hope that helped ! ❤️ -BGG2B
I would say both of these are factors towards the finish and movement of the hair. Also, in my opinion, I think how often you get your hair pressed or use heat can affect it also. Hair porosity, just how much your hair soaks up products, is also a big factor along with density. ❤️ -BGG2B
Thanks! I was thinking about doing this to my daughter's hair for her birthday..and got kinda nervous it would come out stiff..well not stiff..but you know what I mean lol any quick tips for maximum movement?! Shes a solid 4c throughout...thank you in advance ❤
When planning to perform a silk press, this is just my advice on the process and products. 1. Shampoo and condition your hair with a product geared towards using heat, and not too much moisture (moisture will make your hair revert quicker, or come out poofy, we dont want that!) 2. Before blow drying, apply a leave in like 'Its a 10' leave in spray, and a light silk serum that has heat protecting properties. (Make sure to apply small amounts, you dont want a lot of product in your hair. The 'Generic' brand has a great version of the its a 10 leave in spray an also a Chi silk serum. 3. When Blow-drying, focus on getting your hair completely dry, and dry in a downward direction, so your roots can be as flat as possible. 4. When flat ironing, make sure the heat it up high enough that your hair will get straight in one pass, but wont burn it (Around 400, but you know whats best depending on your hair). Also, before flat ironing, you can apply a little more of the silk serum from before, not the leave in spray. 5. Section your hair off in small inch section, and take your time starting at the roots and making it down completely to the ends. 6. The last step, which could possibly be optional would be to give a trim or dusting where needed, and wrap your hair in plastic wrap and blow dry it or sit under the dryer for a few minutes. And that should give you a pretty good Silk Press! Hope that helped! ( And remember, these things take practice. If you have any more question, let me know :) )

@@Meli123a It depends on your hair and how quickly it tries to revert. Some hair does a good job at staying straight while some hair likes to revert back its curly form. Also environmental factors like humidity, keeping it dry, and sweating all contribute to you hair lasting longer. Some hair also gets more oily faster. So it depends, it can last from a week up to a month for some.
Normally, your curls should come right back when wet. If a silk press is done without heat protection, or just not properly, it can possibly lead to heat damage. Heat damage can mean your texture loosens or doesn't curl up anymore. But outside of this case, your curl should revert right back without any damage. Hope that helped! ! ❤️ -BGG2B
Sometimes, the natural hair pattern just doesn't work with the look your shooting for...dont worry! Using perm rods can give you the uniform curl look, even flexi rods. Sometimes its better to start on stretched hair, or even blown out. There are a lot of different tutorials that demonstrate how to achieve curls of all shapes and sizes on youtube. Hope that helped! ❤️ -BGG2B
Not at all! Unless you somehow acquire heat damage (some of your curls loosen/ slightly change texture ) by not getting it done properly, all it takes is water to get your hair to go back to its natural curly state! Hope that helped! ❤️ -BGG2B
Negativity!!! Bha!!!! Like I said not every young lady in this video was black. If wouna like being represented by brown people who are not even black then that's on you!!
The clips shown in this video are from @THEHAIRCOMPANYUSA, a dominican salon. The ethnicity of the ladies in the video range from African-American, Caribbean, Dominican, and all sorts of mixes and black ethnicity's. Regardless of this, all the hair that is shown in the video is Afro-textured hair, a hair type that is found amongst black people (in this case mostly African-Americans and Caribbeans). As you can see by the video, length or texture of hair is not unique to one ethnicity. The purpose of this video is to show black hair types when silk pressed, regardless of the ethnicity of the women shown. This channel is dedicated to positivity surrounding black beauty and hair through showcasing beautiful women and girls like the ones in the video. Hope that answers everything! ❤️ -BGG2B

Is there a certain time of the year to get a slik press. I tried it in june of last year and get didn't even last a day here in Miami

Why do some styles have more movement than others?! Is it texture..or the way the hair react to the products?!

Is silk press permanent or only lasts for a bit of time?
Its temporary- as soon as you wet your hair the curls come back! -💖 BGG2B

I feel like you shouldn't get heat damage if the person doing your hair knows what they're doing. And doing it to often can cause damage as well
