I think you can make the argument that the deaths being less emotionally impactful perfectly juxtaposes the first game. It is what naturally happens when you manage a larger population. People inevitably turn into another resource to stockpile and spend.
Also there’s plenty of connection through the pop ups and delegates as well, really fills that mechanic well imo, I didn’t like some of the more tedious aspects of the first when it came to micromanaging
The pop ups really help fill the void from the first game and I love how you can click on the individual delegates and it tells you their occupation and funny facts about them definitely makes the world feel much more alive. What about the first game felt micro mangagey to you? On the higher difficulty’s definitely but other than that I felt that the game let you play at your own pace.
@@Conduit999 just the tediousness of placing each building, never could master the multitasking with also managing the jenny and resources, having to meticulously space everything to get the right bonuses got old and Frostpunk 2 is a perfect example of how that is not as much of a problem with more macro tasks
You dont get all three as random communities in Utopia Builder. It will always be 2 opposing communities and a third random. I'm thoroughly enjoying this game. It is a fantastic sequel. It's much deeper in the number chrinching and management side. I had crashes as well with my freshly built PC that I put together to play this game, my old one would never be able to even get past the main menu. Haha I fixed it by turning off the default settings made my CPU and RAM overclock. After that, no problems. 11bit has already talked about fixes to do in meantime for other issues, while they are releasing hotfixes as well. That's another huge postive, 11Bit is very transparent and communicates with us regularly. They respond well to our feedback.
One problem is that the lack of play after the story, the utopia builder just feels like watered down story mode, I hope we get something like a new, last autumn. Not the idea of the last autumn but something like it
I actually enjoyed the utopia mode more and I go back and forth on which game is better like right now I feel like the second one is but that might just be because it’s new and I’ve waited so long. I guess the good thing about the lack of content is that the mod support should be releasing soon so that should add a lot of replayability
There’s so many vids promoting frostpunk 2. Honestly if I didn’t preorder the game and play it before all of these videos, I would’ve been more hesitant to buy and even play the game at all.
I can definitely see that perspective I’m seeing a lot of positive press about the new dragon age game and it’s making me more hesitant to buy but that’s also because it’s more corporate media pushing it as opposed to regular people.
I agree on the default difficulty the second one is a lot easier than the first but you could also argue humanity is in a better place now so it should be a bit easier
@@Conduit999 was excepting a city builder, not a generic trash civ clone. it's like turning the next battlefield game into a visual novel and getting surprised when people voice their displeasure
@@AmirDarkOnethe politics system is what makes a huge difference. Analyzing and building colonies from the inside and seeing what they look like zoomed out etc. that’s something I’ve been looking for, although I wish there was a similar game without the politics. Great game though

I agree completely I think the game was trying to make that point

Yesss this game was so good! The contrast from the first it was very good! Some people don’t like it but I lowkey enjoyed this more than the firsy

Thanks bro glad you thought so!

I really enjoyed this vid!
Thanks bro
I still prefer the first one, the second one is way to easy.

@@Conduit999 Even on Captain difficulty its allot more easy.
As a new play my first run through was a nightmare my second attempt went a lot better. I'm worried about how it will be when I up the difficulty.

there is no fp2, just a dumb down civ .
I think that’s a bit reductive other than a tile system how do you think it plays like civ. Were you expecting more of frostpunk 1 on a grander scale?

Me when I see a game with hexagons: Woah this is just like civ
this makes no sense at all.. i don't see the comparaison at all. really weird criticism
Nice vid man, great commentary! I really liked you Insight I'm gonna buy it and give it a try
Thanks a lot for commenting bro it really means a lot
