Imminence is one of my favorite newer metal core bands. I wasn't too big on their two other singles that came before this one but my Lord, heaven shall burn is absolutely amazing.
I love Imminence and I love this song, but I also think that it is okay if others don't feel the same as me. People need to STOP telling other people how to feel! You can like or not like whatever you want, and we can still be friends. Just chill peeps!
I definitely agree, everybody can have different taste of music but the problem is that most of the time, when people dislike something, they're being disrespectful about it. No need to be harsh to the artists just because you don't like it
@@cassandradgt1600 That's unfortunately true. I wish people understood that just because you don't like something does not mean that it's bad, it just means it not for your taste. and even if it is bad, let's not attack the artist for lack of talent or taste, that's just bully behavior.
Whilst I agree, I'm irked when people who listen to ridiculously repetitive bands call Imminence repetitive... they consistently put out different sounding music. But each to their own.
@@RyeRyeL That is true for sure, I think all of their songs sound different and hate that people give them shit or any band shit because they have an issue with the music. I think that these opinions should be kept to themselves, and people need to respect the artists and give them only love not hate. If you don't like the music just don't listen to it.
I was never unable to unhear them screaming the song title ever since you mentioned it BUT then I noticed, that for this band, it makes sense because there is really sort of a theme to their song titles. The titles themselves are kind of telling a story if you line them up so it makes sense in a weird way. I also noticed a lot of other bands doing it since then, but Imminence does it in their own special way with a big break and a lot of open spaces so it emphasizes it more.
They're underated and people asking them to change are asking them not to be themselves How you can get "repetitive" from the last 3 albums and these singles I have no idea. They're all completely different. The 3 new singles are basically all at different ends of the spectrum.
I definitely understand your criticism - but they are one of the most consistently amazing Metalcore bands right now imo. I think the way they always differentiate their songs, is in the music - rather than the text (for example Temptation's riffs, Eddie's screams or his always changing Violin) And frankly? Who cares if they always say the title of the song in lyrics? It's still the same banger...
@TheRagingRayn yeah like they could quite literally just make the song name some random shit so they don't say it and the song would be exactly the same and no one would complain about anything they say
@@JTLimpus Exactly; he like Architects and Spiritbox and they aren't immune to it either. It's just easier to focus on the actual process of making music than thinking of a flashy name. Would he rather them have named this song, "Heaven's on Fire", "Heaven Becomes Hell", "Heaven's Pyre". There are so many things you could come up with but doesn't make a difference to how good or bad a song is.
@@TheRagingRayn Well yes but no, if you say the song name in every chorus and the structure is the same for almost all of ur songs it can get repetitive. When I listened to the 2 singles from Imminence and their last album I knew what section was coming up before it even happened most of the time. This is by far their best song though. Me personally I like to be surprised and not get stuck in the : intro > verse > chorus > verse > chorus > breakdown > end of song formula that they use.
I can tell you aren't an OG fan of the band. Whenever I'm discovering new bands to listen to and like a song, I go through all of their albums before I make a judgement.@@BuddzBunnyHD
It almost feels like they’re still finding their footing which is weird to say considering they’ve been an established band for like a decade now. But it just goes to show how much room for growth these guys have in their music. I love that they have so much range between all their songs. Definitely looking forward to hearing more from these guys in the future.
I completely agree with your take. For me this is the first song since Temptation that honestly has me excited for what Imminence can bring to metalcore. Their other songs are solid, but didn't really keep my attention. This song though, I will be listening to for a while.
love the architect'ish voicals. One of their best songs for sure. When u said pickle, I thought of Picklecore, what a great name for genre, wonder how it would sound.
Imminence songs definitely need more spontaneous stuff, it's formulaic so I can understand the criticism. Saying that though, I still love them and look forward to seeing them grow and seeing them live later this year. #FromSwedenwithLove
I'm a bit biased when it comes to Imminence because I believe that there are some bands that were simply made for you to like. Imminence is that case to me. Non-the-less they are a great band with huge potential, and yes, I do believe the violin should be put to use more often. Although I enjoyed Heaven in Hiding, I don't think it was as good as the previous one. I think "Turn the Light On" is a much better album in almost everything. And, imo, the album that people should first listen to see the true essence of Imminence. Its a self-produced album (which is not the case of Heaven in Hiding) and its a PERFECT showcase on how they masterfully make you feel the lyrics with the right amount of heaviness in the right moments. With songs like "Erase", " Paralyzed", "Lighthouse". Its such an experience that I can't even put to words xd. With this new singles I believe they are bringing some of their old stuff with more thrashy and deathcore/deathmetal sounds. I'm really getting vibes of "Return to Helios" EP and the "I" album which are also must-listens. This one is definitely their best single out of these 3 🔥
I still go back to lighthouse to this day and put it on repeat for a couple of days. I agree with you with Turn the Lights On being the best first album to listen as a first time listen.
As far as I remember from a behind the scenes video Eddie told thei are focussing to getting back to their early music and "old" style with Heaven Shall Burn. And we can surely hear that. Imminence is truly breathtaking not just musicaly but also video wise. Pavel is doing some great work with imminence and each song just manages to suck me in a different world.
Really enjoyed the reaction, but that twitch chat just shows the type of gatekeeping and toxicity bs the metal genre is filled with. People can't just enjoy something, they always have to tear it down with moronic comparisons that make no sense. That could be make for anything with an easy formula: "This song just sounds like *insert music or band name here* if you change/remove the *insert instrument or riff pattern* " It's just pathetic and quite sad really. No wonder metal has so much gatekeeping bs going on
Honestly yeah, I did a video for Heaven Shall Burn on my channel and it has more dislikes than I usually get. Assumingly because I said it wasn't very "special" sounding...
I’ve been an imminence fan for a couple years, which is about as long as I’ve been a metal head. I completely agree this is my new favorite imminence song
I feel like you literally got what you wanted right out the gate. And right before you said “this sounds like architects” I thought this sounded like architects 😂
I didn’t realize Temptation was the first song you’d heard of them. Have you went back and listened to the album Turn the Light On? It was my first into to them and I still think that’s their best album. I was a little disappointed by Heaven in Hiding. Also, pickle.
0:55. CONFIRMED ahahah. I love Imminence, they are a old project now for me...i knew from snakes and ladders...i love them BUT, but....i think that after being basically on a tremendous roll their trajectory is kind of flattening a bit...let's put it this way. Nothing is evidently wrong, they are good musicians and composers, their videos are impressive to say the least as they are story tellers.
Like someone else said here...if Temptation was the first song you heard by Imminence...you should listen to their album before that..."Turn the Light on" ❤
Spiritbox, Imminence, and CJ McCreery’s project all drop new tracks while the internet tries to cancel Alex Terrible and CJ McMahon. Fucking efficacious doses of drama bro.
Pickle - Agreed. It's also my favorite song by them. I'm on the same "ship"(f*ck boats) as you are with this band. When I first heard them, I was like, ohh shieeett this band has a lot of potential, then after they released a few more singles, I was like, oh no, it's that kind of band... PICKLE Yeah this is my favorite song by them next to Temptation. This is also much more up my alley with the heavyness and switch ups that they definitely needed more of

This is their best song. I'm not sure if it's close.

This track was fucking epic. It makes me miss old school Architects.
Can't agree because Paralyzed is way better.
