It's weird how old these low budget educational shorts look and sound sometimes, especially the ones from the 70's, 80's and 90's. They usually "feel" 20 years older than they actually are.
The sixties don't exist anymore. There used to be the sixties, but then someone said, "I wish there were no sixties!" and Sixty, the Sixties Sprite granted him his wish. "Noooooo Sixties! Hee hee hee!"
(Actually, that "A Christmas Gift For You, From Phil Spector" is a great little DVD, with some solid 50s and 60s songs, backed by Phil's famous "Wall of Sound." Definitely worth checking out)!

"Making Sense With Sentences" @ 55:03, about a boy named Joey, acting as apprentice to Master Sentencesmith, is as weird and suicide- inducing as Storylords! Even life at school in the '70s were eerie!
It’s like the laughter came to a halt when John came out to riff! I wanted to hand him a helmet. He sounds like an old man trying not to shit himself. Yikes!!!
Sad thing is all the animal cruelty jokes during the turkey short show turkeys being treated a thousand times better and being far more healthy than they are now.
Nice to see the best comedy from different realms pared together. Nothing is funnier than banality--or at least they make it seem that way. Todd has a setting up a room vibe so I am not sure if it worked to well.
You know, some of the analogies in the "Sentences" short could be helpful for people first learning grammar. Too bad they were delivered by a murderer dressed as a rejected Charles Dickens character.

The amount of audience laughter during the kids injuring themselves is amazing.
I am an educator. I laughed the hardest at the children injuring themselves in terrible ways. :D
It's the absurdity that's funny.
It’s not the injuries- it’s the ‘acting’, and the editing, blocking, narration, writing
In film, nothing is real - well, escept sometimes like in Tora! Tora! Tora! or Twilight Zone The Movie, In that short, however, nothing - absolutely nothing - was real. Not even the fear it tried to put on kids.
What makes it funny is that it was so horrific and graphic to show to children, especially back then. I mean it was hard for me to watch! 😂
Few phrases send cold shivers down my spine like "Setting Up a Room".
Good thing it wasn’t “Setting up THE Room.”
@@tammyblack2747 "Oh haiiiii, kids!"
“I’ll be your substitute teacher”
The book was pretty good though!
Teachers used to make us set up the room back in the 1970's
After walking 5 miles, in the snow, uphill, barefoot to get to school!
I appreciate how the bits that got the biggest laughs were the kids gettting horribly maimed and disfigured in various accidents
Haha seriously, no riffs necessary
My gf used to be a teacher’s aide and is now a school nurse. Setting Up A Room is accurate as hell. Even worse is that teachers want to rearrange every year.
As a recent fan of MST3K, I find it awesome these guys are still doing this today.
