  • A video displaying how to upgrade and where the RAM and SSD are located on the Lenovo Flex 5 Ideapad 1570. Also how to get the back cover off without a guitar pick or spudger tool. Hope this helps if you have this model laptop.

Currently my 1570 has a mechanical hard drive and I would like to clone it to a M2 SSD. Before I go shopping for an M2 SSD and opening up my Flex 5, I saw in another video that the M2 SSD slot doesn't have a screw to hinge the SSD onto the board, is this true? If so, do you know what kind of screw it is? Thanks in advanced!

@@charleeeugene please see my question below, do you see a screw to hinge the M2 SSD onto the board? It seems like there is no screw on the board from your video. Is this correct? Thank you very much!

@@zoro11 I no longer have that machine but I'm sure it has the screw already attached to the motherboard I don't have those screws laying around.

@@zoro11 I'm almost sure the screw is already on the motherboard because usually I don't have the screw size laying around. All so im pretty sure you have a screw that would fit has long as it keeps the M.2 in place and you can close the back cover. I wish they would include the screw in the SSD package when you buy it. They seem to all be the same size. Let me know what happens!!!

Very good tutorial. Straight ahead, no-nonsense jabbering. Common language fo folk like me. Thanks man! Makes us feel like we all accomplish something good saving some loot. Here, its $150 + $50 (labor/memory) smacks. It's that back cover that concerns my lack of patience but need to take care doing as you say. Thank you!!!

According to specs, this computer has eight gigs of ram at 21333 MHZ but can it support the 26666?

What was the speed of this ram u swapped out?

Not sure I would stick to 21333Mhz but if you have 26666 laying around try it out won't hurt@@Gaighque

Just trying to save money and I had the impression that the machine will cap out at its capacity regardless of the exponential ability of the chip.
