    The massive block of Morganite and that giant sized Kunzite with a fracture through it were awesome! It was brave of that vendor to give such easy access to the Kunzite. Thanks for pausing and focusing on the labels/descriptions.

A true credit to the love of minerals and lapidary, you show us all the gems without ever pointing out that of all the gems you show us you are one of the true gems. Love ya Bro!

    Excellent video! If I could like this video twice I would.
    I'm always surprised that at shows where people are attempting to high priced minerals in the $500 to $10k range and they don't put labels out with them. It always feels like someone is attempting to sell a car online without a photo. I really just shake my head at the practice.
    23:18 Thanks for showing that copy of Gem Cutting Shop Helps Best Selected Lapidary Journal, I just scooped up a copy on ebay.
    The collection of thumbnails at the end of the video was impressive.

    The prices on most of these gems and crystals are ridiculous. They have a sandwich calcite in their display for 350$. I buy wholesale and that thing wouldn't be no more than 50$.

      i decided to google and found that lapis lazuli is a composite rock that contains calcite, pyrite, lazurite, and other sodalites. lazurite is just specifically one of the deeper blue mineral components and makes up the bulk of lapis lazuli. the more ya know

      @@nobodysbaby5048 Yes, I have actually. Granted they have the best singles donated BUT 80% - 90% is hidden away in drawers in the back only accessible by researchers. The gem shows are loaded with dealers and also a lot of the actual miners with trays or tables of affordable examples to gawk over the fine details. That's like the GIA who does not photograph what all they have in the vault for anybody to see online. Most Virgin Valley is in the diggers houses in a dome.

    Dave, I’m enjoying watching your videos; you have so much energy and know your rocks and minerals. Really like your comments to vendors and your subscribers..
    I’m sure you get this question a lot.. what happened to your left hand? Do you have any lingering issues?
    Last year I hit my right hand against a piece of metal inside my rock saw while it was turned off, and with thumb osteoarthritis already bad, I damaged a nerve and vein...resulting in hand surgery in September 2022. I still experience ALOT of pain. It’s slowed my rock work some but I still get some rock and gem therapy! Will check back to see more of your content. Thanks again for your work!

      @lapidarydave  Рік тому

      hey, thanks so much for watching. I really appreciate it. I wish I had some kind of glamorous story about how I fight off a gator while mining some crystals but what happened is I got drunk at my aunts house when I was taking care of my mother who was in hospice at the time I slipped and fell and hit my hand on a toilet, which then exploded it. Cut me to the bone and they didn’t do a very good job of stitching me up, I think they gave me three or four stitches for the whole wound. Anyway, I did have nerve damage for a while. I did a lot of massage for it and I’m a musician so high have pretty good coordination in my hand so I think that helped her to heal my pointer finger still goes numb if I play music without stretching it, but it goes away after a few moments I got really lucky I could’ve damage myself to where I couldn’t play again. Time will tell if the damage gets worse as I get older, but in the meantime, I’m super thankful.

    I’m sorry for mentioning it before Dave I don’t mean to be a dick. I just find it disrespectful that your clinking those amethyst Scepters together, especially when you hit that kunzite Crystal against the tips of those two amethyst Scepters. Very disrespectful in my opinion not only to the crystals, but to the seller. Those crystals took millions of years to form in the Earth, and come out without damage your clinking them together like an a hole.

    So cringe to hear the clinking together of the crystals when you’re picking them up and putting them down, not very carefully and letting them clink in toeach other. Come on Dave have a little bit more respect for the crystals than that please.
    You clinked that green Kunzite Crystal, right into the tips of those amethyst Scepters, not very nice
