    That deadlift was unbelievable. Thor is in an ascended state of strength...without injury the next few years of strongman will be his.

      @@1minutetech728 ....ok? That's accurate, but that was also on a deadlift bar with a suit and not at all relevant to what I said. This is a completely different bar and suits arent allowed at the Arnold, so even if he pulls 501kg at the arnold there will be enough room for debate about what the deadlift record actually is. I think big z still has the record for most weight deadlifted with a huge bar and hummer ties.

      Shawn M The second heaviest deadlift is still only 473kg on the bar Eddie used. No one has came close to it, although yeah, this set was insane. If anyone's breaking it, it is Thor

      Mega Pixel, yeeea..... but.... that bar has WAY too much whip. Thor also used spacers to move the weight farther out on the bar. So it’s hard to truely compare the two.

      In my experience the 2. Rep often is easier than the first. Only me? Doesn't apply for absolute max though.

      Usually the second rep is better because when you put the 1st one down it comes down in a true line your body is in a better position for that rep

      He was not holding the full weight of the bar. Look on the left side. (the side martins is standing at) the bar doesnt leave the rack on that side

    I like how you keep to your program and don't overextend. Please continue that way. We all want to see you break all the PRs and records, but we seriously don't want to see you injured.
    Keep doing your thing and you'll keep improving. Don't let anyone bait you into going too heavy too fast like some young and reckless people usually do.

      When you lift almost half a ton you seriously don't want to over do it and have something tear or give way under the strain of that amount of weight like standing back up and your arms are still attached to the bar on the floor 😋

    The thing I love about thor and Martins is that they are both so incredibly impressive in their own right. Thor with his incredible raw power in the deadlift and Martins with his technique and his machine like movements on any carrying event. Theres a reason these 2 are best in the world rn

    Thor is looking like hes on another level than everyone else. His strength is incredible and he is making it look so so easy. I dont see anybody beating him in WSM this year, he looks unstoppable and he isnt even at his peak in training yet. Keep up the hard work!!!!

    Chris duffin has done 1000 for reps! Nearly 3 reps but it was sumo+ touch and go not deadstop and about 3 inch range of motion! This is the real shit right here absolute insanity!!!!

      Wouldn't discredit Duffin. They are both amazing feats in their own way. Duffin's lift was insane considering how low in bodyweight he is and this is insane considering how easy it went and conventional dead stop.

      Eddie said he pulled 450kg for speed reps before his 500kg. He’s still got a way to go but he will probably do it and I hope it won’t be 501kg hopefully 510kg or something

      Hahaha, no way. Eddie did it on a regular bar, the bar Thor uses is easier (about 5%). I'm not trying to say Thor is weak or anything, but the deadlift is just Eddie's best lift and no one can compete, the Russian guy was close though.

      the bar sets itself in the best position on the way down.... and all the tightness stays as well, that's why its often times easier to teach a dead lift from the top down

      He definitely had 1 or 2 more reps in him. But wanted to play smart because he was getting ready for his Arnold's threepeat. He had previously done 440 kg for 3 reps, as well.
