I went out to collect some greenery on Christmas Eve, early morning, it was amazing how many little flowers were opening! And of course, Robins already busy choosing their territories, twittering away! Even though it was still stormy, it was energizing. We only need to look away from our screens, open our eyes and ears.❤
May you continue to be blessed, prosper and share your gifts with others. How blessed we all are to be able to enjoy your wonderful channel. Thank you.
What are you like Christmas day working in the garden..👋 Most people are stuffing their faces and watching a Christmas movie @ falling a sleep... Not me of course 🤣actually I've been planting tulips and daffodil bulbs that my dear husband brought me as, present... I bought him a new pitch fork 🤣🤣🤣⛄🎄we are like minded 😂🎄⛄happy gardening Christmas. ⛄🎄🎅☃️🎉
Today is the first full moon after the Solstice, making it Yuletide. Thanks Collette for the coppice information. Willow is a great resource for making willow water by soaking several branches in a bucket of water. Willow water is terrific for transplants to use to help them to be invigorated and to thrive. I water the younger plants with it too. It is like aspirin for plants. ❤The artistic qualities of your videos is very inspiring and well done. Blessings to you and Patsy and everyone in this world with peace and learning from each other. ❤
It's often said that we evolved in a symbiotic relationship with birds. Their singing tells us there's no predators around, so listening to them, we feel calm and safe. They keep our surroundings free of annoying insects. In return we let them have a share of our fruit, and put out food for them in Winter.
At last, today being Boxing Day, the sun is shining, the wind and rain are not here this morning in West Devon, England, and I am so grateful for a bit of sun! Wishing you happy days Colette and Patsy. xxx
Good afternoon Colette, thank you for this video, it is so lovely to hear the bird song. In my gardens they get very vocal when I open my door into the garden, they signal to each other and hop about in the garden trees, food is being served It seems as though that is what they are shouting, it is magical standing under the trees as they leave their perches and fly to the feeders. Also ground feeders are included in the food distribution. They are bit more sedate about the event, The Colored Dove calls as he flies overhead preparing to land in one of the many trees that border my garden area. And so this is one of my routines each day. Soon the feeding will get a bit more frenzied as we go into the nesting period, although there is also plenty of foraging too.The Mahonia tree in my garden still has a lot of flowers heads, I watched the largest bees coming right through November to pollinate and feed, less than 2 miles from me there is a keeper of bees, When telling her about the bees activities the keeper thinks they could be her bees, I had taken a photo of a large bee on the Mahonia, and sent it to her website, for her to display. If it is her bees on my Mahonia, after tasting her delicious honey, all I can say is it's pure nectar.🤗🌞 Hugs and Blessings to you and yours.💚🌹
dear Colette........................your home is so cosy..................lots of work and blessed results.............take care of you......Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel,Germany☘☘☘
Your garden , the trees especially, even in the quiet time feels so alive ! I can feel it through my I pad screen. I can imagine how it you feel embraced and welcomed when you step outside and breathe in the morning air. Blessings Colette 🙏💕🌷
The Irish Land of the Enchanted ... Always good to tune in for all the festive... Thank you for sharing your wonderful side of the Globe. Wishing you a wonderful 2024. Just beautiful ...
I live in the Bay Area California and I feed the birds every morning. I have a crow family who appear every morning on my fence waiting for their breakfast. I feed the smaller birds too, I love watching them. Their favorite food is shelled walnuts.
So beautiful! In Michigan, we had a green Christmas for the first time in years. It was rainy and foggy and soggy - absolutely no pretty white snow. I really missed my snow. Blessings Collette!
Blessings to you! What a magical day, with the promise of new life. The birds are wonderful. So lovely to see on a day when a foot of snow is expected here, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It often snows here into June.
yay, internet is coming with the possibility of increased postings from you! I always enjoy your content. thank you much for the calm, beautiful and sane postings from Bealtaine Cottage
Hi Colette, The sun is shining here too in Norfolk! The birds though seem to have disappeared for a while, but will put some food out for them in any way, perhaps it will lure them back! Or some other creatures will have it! Many blessings to you and dear little Patsy ❤
Every time I see the flax I feel grounded and centered, like she is some sort of keeper of space and time. I feel reassured as well as deeply impressed with how powerfully full and strong she is. I remember the wee back door companion of Yor.
What a lovely video. It's still so green there. I have snow on the ground with an occasional patch of earth appearing under the trees. Occasionally I see ferns sticking their beautiful leaves out from under their warm winter blanket of white. We have yet to see the extreme snow and cold here in the mountains. January through March is when we expect our deep winter weather. Thank you for this video. Blessings to you dear Colette, your family and Patsy too.
Everything looks beautiful there. I love that the mahonia flowers now! I have planted some and they have so many flowers about to bloom. It’s been very mild here this winter- so far! Blessings 🇨🇦
Happy Yule from SoCal! Thank you for the lovely positive energy from your garden all year long. I like the idea of hazel. Gonna check out how well it will do in my garden. Off to find bulbs! Peace and Love.
I've noticed the pigeons and doves are cooing now (sadly there aren't really much of any other birds around here). I put it down to the fact that the days were getting longer, spring is on its way. Blessings to you Colette.
Even though it'd winter the gardens still look lovely and yes our bird friends depend on us . I keep clean water in the Bird baths and always fresh seeds peanut there little cakes 😄
Merry Christmas Day to you Colette. We spent a quiet Christmas on the farm and enjoyed a traditional dinner. I am pleased to hear you will be getting the internet, as I envision that I will be a bit isolated this winter, following my last surgery in January. Hopefully the recovery will be a short one. Whilst I am homebound, there are lots of craft projects for me to do, besides reading and enjoying your channel. It will be a New Year filled with possibilities ~ Diane
Maybe this has been answered in a Q&A, but what do the surrounding neighbours say about the woodland? They must be impressed. From the videos that fleetingly show surrounding fields, it seems a stark difference. I’m always struck by the constant bird song and movement in the Bealtaine woodlands whereas the surrounding fields seem a bit lifeless? The street I live on is a bit similar in a way. Friends who visit my place for the first time often remark how vibrant my garden is compared to the ‘builder landscaping’ of the neighbouring houses. But I don’t see birds and insect life in those symmetrical/lawn and manicured landscaped yards.
Lovely way to welcome Christmas morning. Such beautiful color. I'm looking forward to what gems you'll put out when you get your internet. Your content is so life giving. Thanks for all you do, Collette.
Here in Iceland we don't see anything growing until april-may... and its usually the dandelions that pop up first 😊 but, I feed the birds and in the springtime they sing in my trees and have their babies and bring them to me 😊 and ofcourse, every bird gets raisins and treats❤
You're so right Colette about the birdsong I've noticed it 😊 I'm so chuffed about your internet to know there may be more vlogs thank you, but don't over do it you have quite a lot of work there already 😊 xx
A daffodil bloomed in my garden on Christmas Day… Mother Nature is waking early. I love hearing that jobs never end as I tend to think I must be lazy always chasing my tail. 2024 is going to be more chilled and go with the flow. Things will get done in their own time. Blessings to Collete and this community.❤
Good day my little Ireland friend. So looking forward to even more videos Colette. That would make my New Year better even yet!! Have a wonderful day!!
What a wonderful way to spend Christmas. It rained here all day. Unfortunately, no outdoor tasks were done. Christmas Eve. I filled 6 bird feeders. Bad weather (snow) is expected on Wednesday the 27th. Have a lovely week.
Merry Continuing Christmas, Colette. Bird song is so calming and it is easy to sit down and just listen for a while! The sun was out here to in my parts of Sweden, but it got more cloudy at noon and bow the Sun is hiding behind thick grey clouds . . I so await the Spring and have prepared my Pots for soon be able to plant seeds and cuttings in, And when it comes to insects like bumblebees and bees it is good to have plants that flower around March - April, It is the time when the Honeybee starts its work, collecting nectar, and its a very Good! thing to have some Sallow Trees in the Garden, because that is the first of all Plants that HoneyBees gets their food from... So whatever you all do, save the Sallow Trees, so the Honeybee can survive during the early Spring!🐝🐝🐞🦋 And by that, they give back so much by pollinating our Gardens! Lots of Christmas hugs from Sweden🇸🇪!🤗💖🇸🇪
❤Enjoyed seeing all the lovely things that are springing up in your woodland. Your hard work is certainly paying you dividends. We still have a few more weeks before too much makes an appearance. My Lenten Rose is usually the first to bloom here in NW GA.
Such a sweet video to greet me this day after Christmas since I was so busy yesterday that I hardly opened my social media or UA-cam. So a bit of a catchup for me. I find wisdom in your words☔rains are returning tonight as gift from the Pacific Ocean🙏
Merry Christmas and thank you for your wonderful videos they bring so much joy and happiness to watch. l really am looking forward to seeing your next one have a lovely day ❤
I always find such peace and beauty in your videos and this one was no different, just so very lovely...the views of your beautiful land and cozy home are just what my tired soul needed :) 🥰 Blessings to you always!! P.S. I am very excited to hear you will be posting more often!!🎉
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Colette 🥳🎄🎁🎆. Your land looks refresh and I love hearing the birds sing. It seems like Patsy has the best seat in the house. 🤫
What a lovely relaxing and peaceful video thankyou so much for a glimpse of the cottage and woodland. I was wondering if one of your 2024 projects might be a new book? I have the others and find them both informative and sustaining so a new one would be a blessing.
I spotted an unusual looking Robin the other day, he was bigger, redder and fluffier than a normal one. Took a snap and showed my neighbour who writes for the local rag, almost immediately he came back and said its an American one that must have got blown off course in recent storms. Anyway next thing I know he brings a local twitcher who quizzed me and wanted the photo and told me not to tell folk where I saw it because apparently it would attract enthusiasts from all over, who knew 😂
Merry Christmas hope you had some time with your family not just hard work, everything looks beautiful, I was collecting some greenery from my garden and there are so many small flowers still dotted about due to the mild weather here in Cornwall. A storm is blowing up now though today. I think it’s batten down the hatches again. ❤️
I would love to be able to leave some baubles outside but the birds in my yard follow me around to watch what I’m doing. Their curiosity is endless so anything I leave outside gets the once over as if it needs to pass inspection. I can see two Rosellas in the birdbath now having a wash and chirping. I live in the subtropics and I do not feed the birds as they have plenty of native trees in my yard to feed on.
It rained most of the day here. However, we REALLY NEEDED RAIN. Our birdswere chirping and gathering at all my feeders, I think, enjoying the light rain. Today is sunny and clear. The birds are already gathering to eat as the sun rises, and other than their chirping, it's quiet in the neighborhood. I hope you had a wonderful yule and here's to a magical new year ✨️ 💛 💖
Collett, I gave your book to my niece for Christmas and it was her most favorite gift. She has a longing to go to Ireland. 😊 In my area, central Massachusetts, we are discouraged to feed the birds because it attracts unwanted pests. What can we plant in our gardens that will help sustain the birds through the winter? I plant for birds and bees in spring through fall and I leave everything as is until the next spring hoping I'm helping. Thanks so much for all you wonderful videos. 😊😊😊

Sounds of the birds are the most beautiful and joyous sound. I agree take care of the animals. ❤

Lack of birds here in our area of TX compared to what we’ve had in past years. We continue to put out birdseed, too. Squirrels eat good. 👍🐿️
You reminded me that I had some Hyacinth bulbs, and so I am looking forward to the video where you pot up yours, as I would like to do mine as well.
