Have you ever heard the American folklore story of Johnny Appleseed (real name: John Chapman)? Johnny was instrumental in sowing apple seeds throughout the American Midwest in the 19th century. I believe some of his trees are still alive and producing apples to this day! Here’s my point, you are a 21st century Irish Johnny Appleseed! I hope your country realizes what a great and generous woman you are! 🌳☘️
Watching this again on the morning after the US election as a comfort and a reminder to always be hopeful. Thank you so much for your constant reminders of what is important in life. 💜🧚♂️🦋🌲🌿🌱🪺💜
Your story gives me hope for my future. My female priest from Norwegian church in London, SE16. She said it was a higher power that will decide when my time comes. I have 8 grandchildren, another grandchild; a boy, due 01/02/2025. When I pass away this grandchild will have no grandmothers! I admire you so deeply. You are so kind & thoughtful. Thanks for planting your beautiful woodland…
@@yvonneyven8683 My grandmothers have both passed, yet they are still tangibly here with me. Genuinely just today I said hello to both my grandmothers and my one grandfather who passed when I was a toddler but for whom I have a very strong spiritual connection to, just as I do with both my grandmothers whom I knew as an adult. When I see them I see them as energy balls floating out there, usually outside like stars pulled down from the sky. They are still here and still with me. ✨ ⭐️❤️. Oh my gosh! As if on cue as I was typing "star" for that emoji to pop up, honestly the autocorrect put in "Sagar" which was that grandfather's birth last name!!! I'm not making that up!! ! I literally have the chills, happy, wonderful chills! They are absolutely here!!! Wow, this has been a remarkably uplifting and magical day for me - for that (thank you for prompting this message, I just wiped away a tear on my cheek) as well as another realization earlier while in the garden (see my comment on the beautiful Navaho blessing). ❤️❤️🙏🙏
Thank you Collette, You have captured the essence of The History of The Forests of Ireland The joys and sorrows you share with your Community, encapsulates your sensitivity Of The Land that is Mother Earth 🌍 ❤ Mary Canada 🍁
My biggest regret, having only known 1 grandparent in all my memory, is that I don't know WHO my Nana truly was. She came over from Ireland, was one of many children... life was hard, and she didn't like talking about it. I bought her a book, "A Grandmother's Memories to her Grand daughter". She filled out a few pages, which I'm forever grateful for. I urge you to write down memories you would like your descendants to know... it doesn't have to be big or important... just important for YOU. It'll also give you a lovely project to work on. Blessings to you.
@maiajoyoden6138 Colette really is such an inspiration! I love what she's done with her home and life! That is an amazing journey for you too I hope it goes so well for you and keep me up to date! ♥️
Your forest is stunning. Thank you for sharing it with the world. You inspire all of us to help Mother Earth to survive. I watched a very sad video yesterday on the destruction of the rain forests in South America due to strip mining for gold. It's sad and pathetic that corporations are allowed to deface the planet in the name of greed.
What you have done is just stunning, can you imagine if the world got behind you and followed your path to treating the earth with the respect she deserves. My God what a paradise it could be. Thank you for taking the time to produce these videos and touch people’s hearts to inspire them to produce a better future for our Mother Earth, it’s a selfless act and I for one are eternally grateful.
Me too, I have 26 trees so far & plan on planting another 7. It's amazing what you can fit into a smaller space with a bit of thought! 😊 ...actually make that 39 so far, I forgot about the row of closely planted native trees clipped into a hedge! There is an abundance of native birds & even a little ringtail possum has built a drey (nest) in one of the trees. Talk about an urban oasis for wildlife! ☺️
@@ren8240 wow that’s fantastic! I had to count mine after reading your comment! We’ve planted 31 so far in the backyard, and 20 in the front yard that already had several large trees including a beautiful huge bottlebrush. Sounds like you are a fellow Aussie? I’ve planted a mix of native and fruit trees 💚 Definitely an oasis for wildlife (and us) ☺️
You paved the way to bring nature back from poor land. You're helping the land to heal. It really doesn't take nature long to take over if given the chance. People searching for fossils bring the proof to us that what was here millennia ago still remains.
I crave the videos you share. I look forward to each one, and always learn something new from your work at the cottage and three acres. I love watching the changing seasons, the smoke from your chimney, the creation of your secret garden. I love hearing the birds that fill your space, all the way to my space, here in western Washington. It gives me such a yearning. I can’t thank you enough for what you do. ❤
Beautiful story, beautiful video. You have inspired me for years now on my own property and Mother Earth has noticed and is helping me. All over the perimeter of my property (I hate calling it "my property" as I am just a caretaker, but there it is), Hawthornes, Hollys and Oaks have popped up and I let them be, and in fact nurture them. Since there are so many and all mostly on the perimeter I feel like Mother Earth is protecting this space both spiritually and physically from the intrusions of my urban/suburban location (a half acre within a larger city limits.) While my woodland still young in comparison (just 5-6 years), as it was inspired by Bealtaine Cottage so is it a sort of "child of Bealtaine" on the other side of the globe. What an honor! ❤️🙏🌲🌾
Dear Colette, I am watching this 9 days after it appeared. I pray you are safe and well, and I miss your gentle presence here. Peace and Blessings loved one 🌳
I agree; wondering about Colette and the garden of Eden. No internet here for seven days after Tropical Storm Helene came through. We're still reeling from the harsh weather, but I live in a solid community of a few families who know how to live with the Mother. Very grateful for you, Colette, your intuition, your sharing, the sounds of your birds. Very few here and the deer/foxes seemed stunned. Black bear left after eating most of the pears; he knew when to leave.
I have an ancient wood near me I walk it twice a day with my dogs. I usually have carrier bags in my pocket to pick up the litter that gets dumped as the wood is next to a built up area. We also most summers see some trees some of which are over a hundred years being set fire, amazingly most survive, others as they have been weakened come down in the winter storms. It breaks my heart but some how the wood keeps growing year after year she is absolutely beautiful and I apologise to her for what the minority do and thank her for the joy she brings to me and the home she provides for the deer, foxes and other wildlife. You are an inspirational woman Colette although I only have a small garden I have planted smaller trees because of your example 🌳 thank you for for all you do
I have to say Absolutely Applaud you for being what we all should aspire to.... You should be rewarded accordingly for having achieved what you have.... We are your new Fans... Beautiful in every way !!!
Ahh!! A kindred soul I feel in you, Collette!! I feel the trees are my family! I feel a true connection to our dear gentle giants. They love and care about all! They know, no malice or scorn. They exist to love and to keep record, just like the whales do in the sea. They are the record keepers and the holders of energy. 🍁🍂✨️🌳🌲🐳 Blessings Always 💚 🙏💙

I’m so proud of you and your land. You have done a great deed and continue to create beauty in a peaceful place. Blessings to you and to the world. I too have created a habitat for our friends of the forest. I live in suburbs but fenced in my 3/4 acres and then fenced half of that and have let it be wild and free. Wow Colette, your beautiful and thought-provoking video, made me cry ...happy tears at the stunning woodland you have created and given back to mother earth. And sad tears for all the woodlands and green spaces that are being so cruelly ripped down everywhere! Your video is truly inspiring and a must-look for all people starting a food forest, rewilding or even gardening project. Because when you are planting tiny trees and shrubs it is hard to imagine how the whole terrain will look in 5, 10 or 20 years. Our project is only 5 years old and things have already changed a lot, and we are documenting the changes, taking photos of the same areas each year.

We are heading into winter now and I will be planting some bulbs for spring, and making plans to plant more trees next year. Blessings to you, Colette, from Terri in Indiana, USA
One woman's vision/dream turned into a stunning reality. Years of hard work and determination have you where you are today. If only I had not spent my entire adult life moving every 2-4 years. I will say that almost every move I left behind some or many plantings. Many blessings to you.

My husband and I sold our semi to move to a small two bedroom beach chalet with a view of the North Sea, fourteen years ago and couldn’t be happier 😅👍🌈❤️
Absolutely amazing. It’s the same here in Scotland our trees were cleared from the land at the same time. Most folk don’t even realise. However what you have done certainly gives hope and optimism for the future. Perhaps it comes down to the individual effort to inspire others to do the same. Much love to you and your trees.
Many years ago I traveled to Vancouver Canada. We took a tram up a mountain where there was a wild animal sanctuary and they took you on a nature walk. I had never been in such a lush nature environment and haven't since. We came to this huge tree that fell and was starting to decay. Someone asked why it wasn't cut up and sold or given for firewood, it was that big. The guide told us that all trees if possible should be left because they become "nurse" trees. It becomes a habitat for small animals, insects, fungi, and eventually nourishes the soil going back to where it came from and if any seed from the tree was in the new soil, it would grow a new tree to take it's place. I never forgot that. I was about 32 at the time and I am now 60, and that one thought changed how I looked at my garden and the forests around me. Hard to explain how alive it all now looked. I new plants were alive, but it became a different lens before my eyes.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful woodland and yours and it's story. You have worked with the earth so well to create such beauty. Oh to sit there and absorb the ancient history of this land 💚
The woodland you have fostered and grown is truly amazing Colette. Really I’m in awe. As you were walking and talking about the earth welcoming your efforts I thought that the trees helped and welcomed each other also. Seeing is believing. Blessings.🐇
Thank you Colette. I've been following you for some years now and that was beautiful...And I loved how we ended up in the Stone Circle!! Blessings to you and little Patsy!!
This is so magical. The woodland is feminine as you say - just so soft and yielding. Autumn is my favourite time of year. Thank you for showing all this and for all that you do. X
Oh Collette, this video has left my heart wide open. So lovely. Thank you so much! 🥰🌳🌲🍀☘️🌿

I love finding the places with trees growing in a long straight line and the nurse tree is almost completely gone.
Beautiful, Thank you 👍🙏❤️
Thank you for sharing your beautiful woodland and yours and it's story. You have worked with the earth so well to create such beauty. Oh to sit there and absorb the ancient history of this land 💚
Blessings!🍂🌳
Good morning dear Colette! This video fed my soul as I watched it! Have a wonderful day! Blessings to you and little Patsy!
Love this video Colette.. The spirits of the ancient land speak to those who want to listen.. The trees whisper to those who want to hear. 🍂 🍁 ❤
That oak tree is magnificent! ❤
You've done a lovely job. Glorious garden.
The woodland you have fostered and grown is truly amazing Colette. Really I’m in awe. As you were walking and talking about the earth welcoming your efforts I thought that the trees helped and welcomed each other also. Seeing is believing. Blessings.🐇

This is so magical. The woodland is feminine as you say - just so soft and yielding. Autumn is my favourite time of year. Thank you for showing all this and for all that you do. X
