Why for the love of God is Rory still not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame yet???? This is one hell of an injustice to one of Rocks most talented musicians ... Saw him in 75 ... Awsome .... look at the crowd in this clip ,that alone tells the story of how loved he was...
@@arisstavropoulos9506 You are right but he still belongs there with the greats that are & got there when it still had merit , Sadly it no longer does .
Rory put everything in him into his music and his performances he loved his audiences and he gave more than any other performer ever has to them. Why he's not in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame I just don't know Gary Moore should be in there as well. When you look at some of the people who are in there it's mind-blowing that Rory is not. Just because he didn't kiss the asses of the record companies and the promoters and so on, didn't do a good job of promoting him or playing his music on the air especially in the United States. It's a damn shame but the people who voted the Rock and roll Hall of Fame most of them probably are not even musicians anyway I don't know how what they base their votes on but it certainly can't be based on how great it performer is or how much they give themselves because if they went by that Rory would be in there long ago and so would Gary Moore. But Rory was the people's guitarist and we vote him in our Hall of Fame and I think that would have been even more important to Rory because those votes and opinions come from us and that's from some CEO of some company in Ohio or wherever. I love you angel Rory and you should be in every Hall of Fame the blues Hall of Fame as well. You are precious and cherished an incredible musician and performer who should be in every Hall of Fame not just the Rock and roll Hall of Fame but the blues Hall of Fame as well and any other Halls of Fame for musicians.. you are a beautiful man inside and outside and you will never ever be forgotten. You have more fans than ever! Rest in peace and darling beloved man until we meet again.😘🌹🍀🎸🎼
My favorite Rory Gallagher song...with many others really growing on me. I had a coworker/friend .he was a DJ on 90.1 KKFI Kansas City (Curt the Rocker), who, along with his wife and fellow DJ Wendy, were giant Rory Gallagher fans. They told me about 30 years ago how much they loved Rory Gallagher. Can't believe it took me so long to understand why..now I know why. And it is thanks to UA-cam when Bad Penny popped up..and I've been hooked ever since❣️‼️

I saw Rory Gallagher in Hollywood Ca at a woman's club. I would guess no more than 500 people in attendance and he was selling either 8 tracks or cassettes on a back table. The guy truly loved his fans. The next time I saw him play was with Jethro Tull and Robin Trower. There were over 50,000 people at least for that concert it was held the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. I never saw Hendrix play because I was too young but I can say I saw Rory Gallagher!
I seen Rory in 76 and 86. I would love to have seen him in Ireland! I was also lucky enough to have seen Jimi in 69. Might sound like I'm bragging but just saying. My first concert was when I was 10 and I seen the Animals :) Peace
I always loved his battered strat. I wonder if he was a little bummed out when he first noticed the paint getting thin in spots? That guitar is almost a well known as he is. The man can rock.
Sorry to the guys that left comments on my comment & I should have said first of all what I ended up saying. The Hall used to have merit but now it's a joke . Still Rory has earned his place with the ones that got there before it became a joke. Remember also I left this 7 years ago & just now got a reply from one of you , guys I have not even been back to watch this since. Again I meant no harm in saying he does belong despite what it's become he deserves to be there with the greats that made it what it was meant to be.
Man he is the best showman and just plain likable he was the best old school guitarist good singer and he was very good with a harmonica.Just a great entertainer.Love you Rory wish you was still around.

You know how you can tell an event was epic..... This is a classic example! I was NOT there, (although I have seen Rory play live) but I have goosebumps all over just watching this.... So amazingly intense, happy, full of energy, and he brought the Irish peoples to peace through his gift. What a blessing to have had Rory on this Earth, even for such a short while. The sad truth is that he would now still only be 65, and touring and writing more great music. God bless you Rory Gallagher.
We hear reports about how diffferent things are today and how the youngerc peole do not understand, I have to tell you not to worry about the kids of today, I know a little boy called Raftery (named after the famous blind poet) who will be 1 year old tomorrow who loves Rory Gallagher's music and this is his following requests which he has to listen 3 times each and every day 1st thing about 6,15am, following at his dinner break at 12 Noon and again at about out 11pm before he goes to bed for his night sleep first up is Shadow Play, Shin Kicker, Tattoo'd Lady, Cradle Rock,Bull Frog Blues. Who's that Coming, Too Much Alcohol from Irish Tour 74, Wayward Child, Bad Penny, He then likes to slow things down with the following tunes Crest Of a Wave, Daughter of the Everglades then finishes off with As the Crow Flies, Out on the Western Plain and finally Going to My Hometown

Well how about this introduction by the very might Horslip man Barry Devlin. Just look at the crowd of people jumping around ever before the great man Rory Gallagher and his band begin to play. Rory and his boys cause mini earth trimmers every time they played a gig, the boys from the local council would have to get out early next morning to reset the paving slabs and kerb stone outside any hall that Rory played in during the night, He was given the power by God to move man, woman child and the earth with his music
I remember when Rory Gallagher died, BBC showed this as a repeat as a tribute but they edited it, left this out, and started in on Follow Me and it didn't feel right: big mistake! You can't change the flow of a RG concert & keep it right. Or if you think you can, try get up on that stage and dictate his tempo for him (lol).
