the part when you said only the wealthiest people build proper cars that is very well said and 100% true. it’s very hard to get parts and if you can get one it’s very damn expensive. great content Larry 👍 and love from indonesia ❤️🙌
Yup, right on point. All of the cars that larry films in Indonesia is a unicorn for most of us Indonesian. A miata will cost you ten times more here compare to the US, especially after the pandemic hit. The closest thing that most of us can relate is the honda brio and that's already a crazy build. But I really glad that larry even considering come to Indonesia and shoots a video here, really big fan of your work.
If only people out there do realized that an NA Miata valued by 3billions Rupiah(feel free to convert it to your own currency, and mind you that 2021 btw). Mostly local car guy stick with Brio, Jazz/Fit(GD,GE &GK)and Ladderframe Diesel's SUV(Fortuner & Pajero). Other's pick Starlet's (EP70 & EP80), 3 Series(E30 & E36) 4door Civic's(EF, EG, EK & FD). If you seeing Indonesian driving "at least" EG&EK Hatch Civic(Not EF Hatch tho, that's still abit cheap) or GT86/BRZ. You can guess they're abit loaded.
and even worse for Indonesian car enthusiast when we see how much Indonesian average income (feel free to google it). so, even for brio.Jazz, starlet etc you need really good income to own and enjoy it as a hobby. and also, its common things in Indonesia you are car enthusiast but just go with games, diecast, or RC car. especially for young people basically, car hobby is not everyone can afford in Indonesia
I couldn’t agree more when you said the wealthiest of the wealthy that tune and build cars in Indonesia, I live there for a couple years and the prices of those cars are absurd. For an example, an E36 M3 will cost you more than 130k usd in Indonesia. It’s just ridiculous.
Another great feature and great comparison with the difference in car culture between the U.S. and other countries. Can't wait for the green EVO feature that's my favorite EVO generation. Thanks Larry
Awww I love this guy's enthusiasism over his bros car. That foreign naiveté, that even I would have if I was showing off for someone from, say, japan visiting. Put a smile on my face! Glad you showed respect Larry where respect was due.
Amazing... Car is amazing. You know what i'd love to see though, an AE86 with a 2ZZ-GE (optional supercharge) or G16 from the GR Corolla/Yaris. That'd make me smile. And envious. I'm actually envious of this! I wish I could have it. Can't even find any here to work on these days in the US.
ahh the old trusty 3sgte...kids nowdays only knew the 2j or 4a for performance toyota engine.... but damn bro,i lived the era when the 3sgte is monsters, even toyota put that MF in supra for Japan grand touring championship...the lightweight the durability, the power...
love it! love your indonesia's car culture coverage. yep, it's really expensive to get a decent real JDM old or car because the tax is doubled besides some "rarity price" of it from the previous owner. For example a decent ae86 could cost you around 60-80k USD, a decent NA1 NSX could cost you 200k USD and good luck on finding it around.
Larry thank you for covering the Indonesian car scene so much. They build some of the wildest stuff, i hope you explore their old school toyota scene more. Those dudes build the WILDEST 3TC motors
Thanks Larry for reviewing one of Mr. Hakim masterpieces. That man have plenty of interesting toys on his possession (Evo 3 RS CE9A, Colt Ralliart Version R, E12 5series, etc). If there's another chance you're coming to Indonesia. Why don't you head over to Surabaya, Bandung or Jogja. You're "might" finding gems if you're lucky.😉
Nah bro. It’s hell here in indonesia. We always got the lame version. It’s even harder to import. Even impossible if it’s secondhand product. Only the wealthiest and the most powerful one that can tune and build cars.
True, these cars are so expensive to built. But car culture passion in our country is so diverse, i bet you'll find some interesting builds (or mods, since we are on budget) in every budget level. You need to come again Larry ✌️✌️😁
yea full on mods is really not for everybody in Indonesian, the cost to build those things just doesn't make sense for the majority of people here prior to our income, while in US you can owned a donor car for very cheap from junkyards or somewhere maybe and do bunch of things with it, in here the car price alone just ridiculously expensive! especially for imported ones for example a donor miata in US cost like how much? 500-1k USD? here would cost around 30-50k USD. car price sky rocketed to the Moon since 2010 or so (now we passed Mars) back in 03 a friend offered me an e30 m3 for 2-3k USD now? maybe around 100k up. btw the average annual salary in Indonesia is 146,000,000 Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) or 10,089 US Dollars a year. that's why most of us here just do simple things like changing our wheels, put on coil overs or bags and slam it, or just cut springs if on budget 😅
7:30 You're right, not everyone in Indonesia can afford a car, 😢 building like this stuff must be wealthy people... However if you have one like Agya, Ayla, Brio, jazz or maybe 90's passenger car they'd call you rich guy😆
Thumbs up for you, Larry. Great car and beautiful video! One thing I would like to know is that do the tuner used Toyota factory coil such as those from the black top or red top 3SGE? Or fo they sell any coils conversion kit? Thank you so much!!!
Beautiful AE86.....but what i find hilarious, Larry's like "what's the redline?" owner's brother responds "8k"(7.5k indicated shift point set on the tac directly in front of Larry) and Larry immediately runs her out to 9k 😅🤣
Very well said larry im from Indonesia and its true with extremely high taxes which can go up to 200% of the car’s value and the government making it virtually impossible to get parts only the richest 1% can enjoy these amazing machines :(

The Fact a AE86 makes 500hp and has AC? Thats insane Insane
Cause the owner wanna used that car for daily
It is hot here indonesia I think our avg day temp is 33 degrees. Imagine that in a box wihtout AC.
@@reynaldiwidjaja277 More kind of 35c to 37c during daytime
@@reynaldiwidjaja277 and traffic jams
If you've been in Indonesia you'll understand why. Very hot, the highest humidity! There's no option to do anything without a/c.

The attention to detail with this build ! Love everything about it.
Awesome commentary at the end, very interesting insight. I love the wheels on this AE86.

What a beautiful specimen
3S MASTER RACE. The 3S-GE/GTE is such a good engine series.
Om Hakin is known for super perfectionist in building car. Enjoy them larry
Gorgeous colour scheme, fully impressed with the engine also, Toyota heaven 💜☮️💙

Pretty sure theres a guy with a yaris swapped ae86 in japan, crazy good build

*Larry revs to almost 9000 RPM*
Larry: what's it rev to?

One of the most if not THEE most beautiful 86s I've ever seen👍🏾
That's why these JDM cars impresses me more than supercars. You can build, tune and mod them urself to whichever insane HP u want. Hehe

Thank you for clearing the air about that!
big fan of the 86 and love your channel Mr. Chen, truly inspiring :-)
The universal language of car guys we don’t need to understand each other just understand cars💯✌🏼
Wow.. Glad to see Larry Chen in here. Amazing. Cheers from Indonesia.
The spec sticker resembling the original is a nice detail, too.
What a car!!! Amazing AE86!
I can honestly say I love every single one of ur vids. Keep up the great work 💪🏽🤙🏽
This is crazy build for sure
Man I love that outro song. Awesome video!
3:44 Nice of you to ask after revving it to 8500 😂
This guy is so humble I want to hang out with him. Larry definitely had fun.
You're doing a good job larry, keep it up man🔥
Big fan of the 3SGTE. I don't know why people K swap a car equipped with this already.
If car prices in Indonesia same as in US or Dubai (no taxes and etc). I'm sure Indonesia will full of exotic and well tuned car
as indonesians we are sooo envy with US car prices, dude a hellcat there is cheaper than GR86 here, and WRX sti there is cheaper than a Mazda 3 💀💀
Loved the Indo content Larry. I have spent a lot of time in Indonesia and so rarely see JDM cars we all love. Thanks
Man, your outro gets me pumped every single time. I love it. 💪
OMFG, that is gorgeous! this video made me a subscriber. keep up the good work man

Good english tho,gokilll appreciate it!!
3s head is easy mode. 5s head carved out brings higher compression ring and valve and head gasket mods
This ae86 woops a$$ for sure
"We think we have it harder in california, but honestly we dont" - truest shit Ive heard today
Awesome 86 Larry !
Larry's attire is always amusing to see 😆😆. Can't be too careful with the sun my friend! I'm the same.
On Toyo 888 any car has a good traction !
Japan, Indonesia ,Thailand they got everything bro…..

Itd be so much fun to build like a 500hp 3sgte ae86. Even one in a frs would be a blast.
This is a great swap for these. Love it

Amazing AE86 build! Got me drooling lol. Larry, since you're in Asia, you should visit Thailand. Insane custom car scene there.
this car is super pretty omg
Amazing work again Larry!
Such a nice car
This is bitter sweet, we need to free Indonesias car culture. I bet the passion and necessary ingenuity would breed incredible things.
Increíble Ae86 ❤
I've seen some pretty crazy motorcycle builds here
She's a weapon alright!

Same mentality as Filipinos, they call you rich as long as you have a car, but in reality, you have a hard time getting by as well
I love me a 3sgte. I think this is the first time seeing one longitudinal though. pretty sweet.
TRD put them in the JGTC supras in the 90s. I wanna do it if my2JZ blows up.
Abang sounds like the guy from ownage pranks lol. They built such a great Corolla, love it!
This is perfection.
Whats the redline 8k ok 1st pull sends it to 9k lol
😂
Ac is the biggest flex. Im tired of people removing AC, especially on slow cars. This thing is a beast and still has ac so theres no excuse.
He really built my dream car
Thumbs up for you, Larry. Great car and beautiful video! One thing I would like to know is that do the tuner used Toyota factory coil such as those from the black top or red top 3SGE? Or fo they sell any coils conversion kit? Thank you so much!!!
There is one these cars in Jamaica that looks almost like this with the 3s swap but it has move hp.. I think it's between 750-800
Bro Lawrence is my tuner at Intec racing 🔥🔥
thankyou larry for covering indonesia's car culture!
Beautiful AE86.....but what i find hilarious, Larry's like "what's the redline?" owner's brother responds "8k"(7.5k indicated shift point set on the tac directly in front of Larry) and Larry immediately runs her out to 9k 😅🤣
Euro beat intensifies
Beautiful car! Also Larry drives a 500hp ae86 and says "wow this thing is fast' lol.
That is a Beast!
Omg, all of that in an 86...Buntas cigarette just dropped out of his mouth
abang just hanging out with a butterfly on his head.
I got that motor on my ae92 but only stock 3sgte
As Indonesia citizen I'm agreed with ur statements regarding the wealthy people could build like this
Fucking dreams ………..love the color the sounds what a 86 those tires 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Beautiful machine 🖤
Powerfull and clean is proper build in indonesia car culture 🔥
Insane car.. 😮
Enjoy the jdm cars then flashing the new supra 😂

This is a very good built nice car
thats a whole LOTTA Power in such a light ,small car lol ..... ive wanted one my whole life but sadly cant afford one
Can i talk somehow to the owner or his brother. I try to build a 3sgte ae86 right now and i have questions
What is the redline? After he revs is to 8500. Lol
Well said about the wealthy people and their builds...
those wheels are sickkkk
Terimakasih sudah berkunjung di Indonesia
They work harder for what they got
I like these shorter little videos. I mean 10 minutes isn't short but I mean shorter then the usual lol
Wow. Lary Chen come to Indonesian. How about come to Malaysia tooooo 😌😌😎👍👌
@5:04 thats what she said
Another Indonesian contents..😍😍
