@thweepz before mazds required dealers to have their own service department as part of their showroom ID sit in a waiting room with GM and Chrysler customers while my mazda received scheduled maintenance. Most of the other customers that I talked to were there because of recalls on their GM and Chrysler vehicals.
Thanks for sharing. I'm between the CX-5 and CX-50, but I just can't buy a US made car with this lack of quality control. If these are the defects you can see, what about the defects you CAN'T see? The Japan built cars are superior.

It’s def a very picky review but for a new car you shouldn’t have gaps and misaligned panels and then preach it’s better quality than what you’re driving, which mine was a 2023 CX50 I was leasing. However, the speaker issue did resolve after a reset and connection but they did tighten some stuff in the door since things were rattling around
Japan made vehicles would never be shipped issues like this. I've owned two 3s and currently drive a 12 year old CX5. I'm looking to sell it to a family member and I've been looking at the CX50 to replace it . New factory in Alabama is a big red flag for me.
Yeah I totally get that. They fixed mine but it’s still a pest to know it needed surgery right off the bat
@thweepz before mazds required dealers to have their own service department as part of their showroom ID sit in a waiting room with GM and Chrysler customers while my mazda received scheduled maintenance. Most of the other customers that I talked to were there because of recalls on their GM and Chrysler vehicals.
I own a Mazda CX50 24 and I don’t have any of those issues
You got a good one
Thanks for sharing. I'm between the CX-5 and CX-50, but I just can't buy a US made car with this lack of quality control. If these are the defects you can see, what about the defects you CAN'T see? The Japan built cars are superior.
The cx50 won’t disappoint if you decide for it. But both excellent
My transmission SUCKS! So clunky, if you have to floor it to get past someone on the highway the car just stays still there’s no power unless you press the gas a few times. Very sad. I’ve noticed a lot of quirks with my car, I let it go cause it’s the little things but maybe I shouldn’t have. I have 2k miles I got it in August
I think the issue with gearbox on this is that it acts a lot like a dual clutch so it prematurely locks the torque converter. Mine can be a little bumpy at certain speeds too. Although mine doesn’t have the no power issue
I had to learn how to be more heavy footed with my non-turbo CX 50. Granted, I was coming from a 275 hp V6 vehicle previously. For the most part, it’s powerful enough for me.
@@eleanormassaro5195 yes
@@thweepz mine has a power issue, sometimes there’s no power when u need to get up n go
It maybe throttle response set for economy, so when you need to step on it harder you need to push the sport mode on
Who knew you really need to go over the car with a fine tooth comb BEFORE purchasing it, even though it is new.
Tell me about it.
hmm... was considering cx 50 over cx 5 for the ground clearance
Not a bad choice depending on what you needed it for
I have had both and I like the cx50 more
I think we are just moving to fast in today's times there's no quality in cars anymore just push it out the way it is😢
Yes agreed. Assemble and sell. Apologize later
Kinda sad
Welp, forget cx50. If the other models are made in Japan -i'll take it.
I got it fixed. But yeah it’s a hit or miss
I own a 2023 CX-50----- Had to replace MASTER WINDOW SWITCH and the BELT Tensioner just last week which Mazda refused to pay for, I had to plunk down 583.00 bucks for this, I am not happy at all...
Say what!? That should be within warranty
My car has over 36K on it, so it's not under warranty @@thweepz
I have over 36k miles, it's out of warranty@@thweepz
I just want the cx-50 for the panoramic sunroof! I'm trading my 2016 mazda 3( japan made) this year..either the cx-50 or maybe cx-70..we'll see what the 70 offers
The 70 is going to be so slay! I can’t wait to see it in person
@@thweepz wifey has a cx9 signature so i'm leaning towards a cx-50 as we don't want 2 big suv's ..but if the price is right for the 70 i might just get it...especially with the engine options they have...would love me an inline 6 😀😀
Cx50 pano sunroof is nice. But kind of a joke if you intend to open the sunroof. It opens about 5-6 inches. Less than a standard sized sunroof would open.
The cx-70 price tag is gonna start around $55k to start... not including taxes and fees. It's pretty close to the cx-90's starting price.
@tamjonathan You should notice that the glass is also slightly tilted at an angle and opens just enough to not hit the crossbar if it's installed.
When the car is made in America..they don’t care about quality 😂😂😂 facts
For lack of better terms. But they fixed it :)
This why i purchased 2024 Mazda CX5...Japan made
Cx50 is bigger and better handling
@@AnonymousAnonymous-xj1htIt's not about size , but the motion in the ocean
I see the rationale of going for the cx5. I thought hard about it but the cx50 just charmed me a bit kire
It’s just like ..do you rather choose a hot busty body women and deal with her issues or normal ok looking skinny no boobs women and she deals with your issues 😂😂😂😂 up to you
I am sure you have herd the saying was it a Monday car or a Friday car that's what it amounts to😂
Exactly. This one was built on a Friday right before 5p
Cx 5 or cx 90. Made in Japan. Tried and true. Although i think the cx 50 is the best looking of the bunch. The cx 5 is looking a little dated
Cx50 is amazing but yes it does fall a bit short on QA. But I enjoy it
Cx 90 has a starting price north of 60k. Cx 70 has a starting price of $55k. Cx5 is slated to be redesigned for 2025 or 2026... new bodystyle and interior..... we shall see what Mazda comes up with.
A new CX 90 starts at around 50k. Not 60k. Not sure where you live
You can't really fix quality issues at the dealership level.
This is what I call typical Mazda lipstick job quality.
Wait a few years more. LOL
Lol right. It’s getting fixed tho. Plastic surgery
@@thweepz
I'm rethinking the cx50 now and I appreciate your video. That kind of quality stuff bothers me a lot.
Plastic surgery aside.
@@chrislim7976 I hear that. If I didn’t have one before I would have likely avoided but not gonna lie it’s an amazing vehicle. Just got back from a road trip and it drives so well

May I ask your opinion on Mazda paint. There are many comments about cheap, thin Mazda paint, easily chipped etc. What is your experience please
This guy …..Every car he owns will have “issues”
All cars have issues
I only buy Made in Japan😀
:D
Let me clarify…you only buy cars made in Japan right 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂…
What if it were like everything else..... made in CHINA???? 😊😊😊
Mazda will rue the day they sold you a car lol
I know. Im a pain
