I saw that there was at some point a version of an open source MiniMig AGA core. I wonder if Mr Dennis van Weeren has plans to bring those same features into the official Minimig cores or a future 2.oh revision of the board.
i have the minimig 1.97 Mini ITX, that was the video before this. the only mini amiga's I have used are the Minimig and Edu-Aranas Un Amiga in the Stephan Jones case i did a while back. For Me the Mister is too expensive when adding the de10 nano , the board, ram, and controller boards, and all the stuff needed to make it great.
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration true but they both rely on having the original hardware of at least an A500. Not normally an issue for most agreed. A Minimig that could do at least 040 and PCI and or Zorro would be great for all of us who cant get an A4000, because of funds/wife or finding one thats not got rare tax slapped on it and needs sending to you to make it actually viable. Add true AGA and you have something that would go toe to toe with anything not PPC based.
Pretty impressive bar a couple of things compared to using a R/Pi 4b. MiniMig is way over priced, has no HDMI output, no onboard Amiga keyboard connector and looks like it wouldn't fit inside an Amiga 600 & 1200 casing, compare this against a R/Pi 4. The Pi fits inside ALL Amiga casing's (with just a small amount of adjustment to where you want it inside the casing) along with a Keyrah keyboard board.Great video though, Chris and so looking forward to your release of your new PiMiga v4 software :) :)
And for every point you made, there's an alternative view that's just as valid. Overpriced to you, bit what does it cost to design, make parts and build it? Still cheaper than a real Amiga. HDMI has to be licensed, which bumps up cost considerably on small scale projects. Who needs an Amiga keyboard when there are a huge selection of new, reliable and cheap keyboards? What about an A2K, 3K or 4K case? Raspberry Pi has an underlying OS to service, extra work, extra time to boot. Software emulation has lag and doesn't feel like an Amiga. Pi4, Keyrah, Amiga case and relevant cables costs a comparable amount to a Minimig.
I wish they did a better job of their website. It's still not clear whether the 68000 is included in the ITX version (supports MC68SEC000 does not mean includes), or what currency their prices are in. I've been told via email that they do include the CPU and that prices are in USD, not CAD. Now that there is the ITX version it's perfect, but unfortunately their prices, let alone the shipping from Canada, are too expensive for me.

Its all open. You can get the gerbers bom and all the core code from their website. Its been taken over for years from mr ranko rodrick

Shame there has never been an 020 version of this. Im sure it would sell well. Add PCI to it and I know it would sell well.
pistorm adds a 040, terriblefire gives a real 030.

This is not a mister. That came from the original dennis van wuyrens minimig design and was developed further for more cores
