- Taking a look at the newly upgraded tech on this SSL inspired suite from Acustica Audio, we review Sand 4 Ultra. I cut my teeth on SSL before the DAWs took over, so I am thrilled to be able to have such tech in the box now with extras not found on the console. Enjoy!

Your productions are always so good man. Sounded great before and Sand gave it a bit of sheen, glue and tightend things up a litte.
As usual, an excellent video.
This plugin should be called "Sand[man] 4 Ultra"
because it really has a nice 3D Bob Katz/K-Stereo feature to it's Wide dial.
You definitely can produce the hell out of a track, bro 👏🏼
The high end sounds fine to me during the before and after! Although I tend to like it like that.
Some may find it a bit bright so maybe 0.5 dB less on the buss high shelf?
Sounded fine. Personally I would have inject a bit 300 and/or 600 Hz on the mixbus to bring in some more fullness and body feel to the overall midrange while retaining the clarity and tightness.
As usual great vibes in your music!
I will try that out!

You are so professional when you speak❤❤
Barry White giving us plugin overviews and snit, 😆
❤❤
What I’d be really interested in is not “before” and “after” using Sand, but “before” and “after” using, say, stock EQ and compressors and then “before” and “after” Sand. All I’m hearing right now is a mixed track, not the benefits of using Sand over something else.
For this record, I actually used the stock channel strip on all of the background vocals, namely, the high pass filter and the maximizer. It's actually a workflow I planned to discuss on the deep dive.
That is subjective.
Damn you Yish..... Everytime I watch your videos I buy another plugin....but Thx !
😂
@@Yishinyourear That Sand 4 is serious....This is the closest I've gotten to analog and I have a ton of em....4 Real
I think before sounds much warmer and better. Actually all AA plugins acts like this.
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. Just placing the plugins on the tracks; beside the subtle analog character by engaging the preamps, there is no drastic change in the tone. I'm just still quite green in mixing with a ways to go in eqing.
@@Yishinyourear he has a point regarding "warmer". That's why I suggested to compensate with the 300 and 600 Hz range boost.
It's not the fault of Acustica Audio plugins but someone could tend to boost too much of the addictive high end. AA eqs tend to preserve (or enhance) the transients. This could all accumulate. Some signals benefit from a touch of smearing/saturation to give contrast to the tight and defined AA signals.
Depending on the song it's sometimes not that easy to create such a tasteful balance between the raw and pleasing tones and the processed defined tones.
I'm not disagreeing with the before being warmer. It was my attempt to clear out mud. I may have went overboard in this case.
@@Yishinyourear we're all have a point. That's totally ok. But for me the snare sounds fuller and more solid in the before.
@@YishinyourearThis reply is a little late, but I'd suggest adjusting the Q 1st to bring back some of those mids.
You cut what looked like a spoon full out of the midrange.
he comprado este plugin y no me funciona podías explicar algo sobre eso saludos
If ive translated your comment correctly, you state it doesn't work?
If it doesn't work in logic pro 11
Hmm. I'm on pc/windows 11, so I have no way to troubleshoot with you. Perhaps you need to change the install type in Aquarius? Put in a ticket with AA is my other suggestion.
Yish is Eric Roberson, Phonte of Little BRother, Darien Brockington & Bilal in one mutha*bleep* YET he cannot put out a record. He's waiting for ACustica Audio to drop their own version of Master Plan so that way there are no more plugins to wait on . LoL LoL LoL
😂
WINE is the closest thing to Master PLan so now what? LoL
