      I’ve been using it and I find it to be a very fast renderer. I also like the look of the renders and the real-time ability. Just wowed a client with it in showing them their material choices. It’s not perfect but pretty good! Thanks for all your tutorials on it!

    Thanks so much for your tutorial, they are awesome and so useful. I have a quick question though! I am a landscape architect and I have a project with more than 150 trees, I imported them from CAD to SU and then to TM... however my first mistake was that they were 3D trees in SU and when I replaced the component in TM it replaced all the instance of the component with the tree (i.e then branches, the leaves...), then the model became impossible to work on. In your workflow do you have a trick to slim down the process... do you just import blck from cad (a line perhaps) to represent the tree trunk and then replace the block on TM or ???? I really would love your feedback and direction!
    Thanks a ton!

    I’m getting familiar with Twinmotion, but finding that the glass windows always leave something to be desired. The reflections are too hazy or not there at all. This tutorials image has the same ‘glass looks frosted’ look to it too.
    I know you can help the situation with the reflection volumes - but I’m having trouble with that. Could you please give a tutorial on how to make windows look better. At the moment I’m either using photoshop in post (or Enscape instead of TM)

    I'm noticing weird geometry and material behavior when I modify the factory defaults in the SU exporter. I'd recommend using the factory defaults unless you have a specific need to change something.

      Navigating in Twinmotion is like navigating in a first-person PC video game. WASD or arrow keys to move around, Q and E to move up and down, and M toggles between walking and flying. Note that you should hold the right mouse button in the 3D rendering window to move your camera around.

      When you first open Twinmotion, does it pop up a welcome screen? That screen should include a keyboard and mouse diagram showing you what everything does :) If not, I think up in the help menu you can click "Welcome" to see that screen

    I like the Lumion like approach to the render process. But I am faced with constant updates and changes done by clients to my models in the design process and that always creates a lot of work when I have to update all my new or changed surfaces in the render software to create a new render. I have been using Vray up till now and I like that my material options remain constant as a sketchup material and I can make my changes to my model without a lot of material updating for my final rendering... must I redo all my material selections every time I update my sketchup model?
    Otherwise, the tool seems very intuitive and practical for a quick render.
    Will be watching your tutorial videos on the matter. Thanks!

      Are they turned on? And I don't really understand your second question - you'd want to group them in SketchUp and import not collapsed by material

    Also how does TM handle bespoke textures like a poster for example?

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  4 роки тому

      I'm not sure if I'd do that as a texture - likely I'd bring it in as a model with the texture applied (the ideal would be as a decal, but I don't think you can create custom decals)

    another good thing to do is explode everything prior to export or in SU, make a copy of your project and explode it, then export into twinmotion.

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  4 роки тому +1

      Why?

    • @Moskeeto
      @Moskeeto 4 роки тому

      I don't quite understand why you would want to explode your groups and components... I see no benefit.
      I prefer to have all my groups and components organized in the scenegraph and if I'm importing a model that I want to be just one solid object, I import with the "collapse all" option.

    • @renovategamer
      @renovategamer 4 роки тому

      sometimes you have materials that are in same group that in sketchup you don't really need to worry about actual materials ie, a efis frieze board and a wood frieze board. when i do SU renderings/elevations they look the same, so you might group it as same "trim" or etc....but in twinmotion, since ray tracing and lighting effects are part of the realism, efis doesn't have the reflective characteristics of a painted frieze. i didn't say do it always, i'm saying that there are times when you may shortcut in sketchup, just for the simplicity of it, but if you're going to maybe charge for a really good rendering and you need more detail.....

    Hallo there. Very helpfull tutorial... thank you so much.
    I would like to ask this: I have a model in sketchup with 4 layers. i disable the 3 layers in sketchup because i want to see only one layer.
    When i import this model in twinmotion then i see all 4 layers together. is there a way to solve this so as in twinmotion to see only the one selected layer of
    sketchup.
    It would be very helpfull if you know the answer
    Thanks

    Justin, how do you get a crisp SketchUp model back into twin motion I found model goes fuzzy not sharp edges between planes /corners

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  4 роки тому

      I don't understand the issue you're having - do you mean it's fuzzy when you export it? Models are only "crisp" in a program like this, but you might have a changed visibility setting that makes it look fuzzy somewhere...

    In sketch up I paint textures to faces inside a group, not paint the group. However in TM, you seem to paint the group?!

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  4 роки тому

      It's not really the same thing - everything you import in Twinmotion comes in as a "group" of some sort - there's no clicking into groups to get down to raw faces. This seems fairly typical of most rendering programs
