When Rob is talking about skating he says “like” a lot, but when he’s talking about business he doesn’t say it at all. You can really tell that he’s in his element when discussing his business ventures. Just something that stood out to me. Great episode.

I remember going over to my friend's house every Tuesday night to watch the brand new episodes. That show is so great.
"People let me tell you 'bout my best friend,
He's a warm hearted person who'll love me till the end.
People let me tell you 'bout him he's so much fun
Whether we're talkin' man to man or whether we're talking son to son.

The biggest takeaway I got from this is to not focus on a bunch of big ideas hoping that one is going to hit it big and it will make you happy. The best thing is to design in your mind what a future happiness looks like, and then every decision you make will be working towards that. That is where his drive comes from. Everything he does is building towards his future that he has visualized for himself in his mind.

@@dimaermolenko98 Maybe you're at a different stage in life. I'm 40, can't really ride anymore due to back issues, building my own small business is giving me as much happiness now as skateboarding did back in the day.
It's hard to explain, but when you start to become the master of your own destiny, even starting a small side hustle that grows to pay you a reliable wage, you look at the world differently. You're no longer living at the whims of a boss, you're entirely your own master.

At 44 years old, I'm just getting back into skating. I can barely Ollie. But I'm also an "entrepreneur" myself. At a tiny tiny level. This has encouraged me to start to look at my daily schedule. Big ups to Rob for releasing he was wrong, and stepping up to do the right thing by Workshop… Haters gonna hate him, but that’s a stand up thing to do, and believe me he didn’t have to do that. Plus you know he didn’t make a dime on that, in fact lost money. He had my respect before this interview, but definitely solidified his legend status during it.👊🏻💪🏻 Mad props Rob….

I´m in the north of Sweden in Scandinavia. Started skating in 1984 when I was eleven. I will never forget the feeling of understanding what a skateboard was. I have been consuming skateboarding in one way or another daily since then. Not riding it anymore but still very passionate about it. I shed a little tear when they said "To Skateboarding" at the end. Because I have never experienced a more pure and uncontaminated shared passion as skateboarding, and I know I never will. Passions have come and gone, put skateboarding is a part of me. It´s a part of all of us, and whatever different opinions and taste we have in the world of skateboarding, the passion we share is the same...
