- Athens, GA fans got a special treat on August 16th, 2011 when Colt Ford brought out some musical guests at his "Colt Ford and Friends" benefit concert with all proceeds going to two injured and fallen police officers. Colt was joined on stage with Jason Aldean and Brantley Gilbert to perform Jason's number one hit "Dirt Road Anthem" that Colt and Brantley just so happened to write.

This is what country music is all about. Sitting around friends making music. After reading a few of the post I think some people are confused with what music is. One particular individual said they sounded like shit. Sometimes it's not about what you sound like it's about having fun with a group of friends. These guys are all great thanks for the music.
There's no other artist that I can listen to every album and not skip a song.

This is the first time I have ever heard the version and it is by far the best version ever.
I wish there was a more cleaner version of the audio so I could hear them better.

This song describes my youth, describes my future... it describes the lives around me. It always makes me teary eyed.. it is amazing how a song can really tug on your heartstrings...right back to your roots! Amen to Colt, Brantley, and Jason for putting this song to the airwaves!

Thinking the same here. I loved when I got to see Colt perform it live, Colt was amazing. Never got to see Brantley sing his part, but Dallas Smith who did Brantley Gilberts part, also did a pretty amazing job.
But I will state I like Brantley's and Colt's version better, but Jason does a good version, but I am a true fan of majority of originals. But at least Jason did no shame to the original version. Some artists murder a cover of a song, at least Jason did not do that.

I am a die hard rap fan and I hated country for the first 16 years of my life, but when I heard the original dirt road anthem, something clicked, and i just started to love and appreciate the art of country music. all of these men are amazing musicians, and they deserve every ounce of respect and praise they get.

Last Comment I made was 3 years ago and I can now say I got to see Colt Ford last Saturday Night and I enjoyed it 3rd best concert I've been to Kid rock takes it at first with Chris Janson and Parmalee at 2nd and Uncle Kracker being the 4th best for me by far
They totally most definitely need to record this even if it ends up on a single album I know many people would purchase it!

The joy of country music is you can take any style of music and turn it country and it still sounds as good as the original genre. i've heard some country artists cover rock and even hip-hop/R&B artists and it sounds better than the original song!!!!!!!!!!!!! everyone is entitled to their own opinion and if you don't like the music then plain and simple don't listen to it. I'm not a hip-hop/R&B fan so i don't listen to it much unless i want to listen to a song that a country artist covered.
