As a girl with Tourette's, I would love to spread awareness and education about my disorder, as I feel it is quite misunderstood in today's society. The media has made it out to be a swearing disorder only, which is far from true. I hope this video will educate you on Tourette Syndrome and tic disorders! Life with Tourettes can be difficult, but just know that we're the same as everyone else...except for the fact we tic like clocks! (:

I’ve just left this comment on another video but I basically said I was 26 when I finally got diagnosed even though it started when I was 6. No one knew anything about Tourette’s in inner city Liverpool in the 90’s apparently so I never got taken to a doctor.
The imposter syndrome thing is mad, I didn’t know anything about it and would genuinely think that I was making it up at some points even though it makes my life incredibly hard sometimes

The formal recognition of Tourette's Syndrome as a disorder occurred during the 19th century. The first reported case of the disorder occurred in 1825 by French doctor, Jean Gasparted itard

i have a tic were i close my eyes for about 5 seconds and that is dangerous because i could be walking on the street and run into something or trip and fall
