so much love and respect for this series. I've been struggling mentally really bad lately, fighting to find some sort of meaning in living and the value in death, and Arthur taught me that there's always time to do better and change things; there's always room for redemption. Clark did an amazing job with this character, I felt when he felt, I thought when he thought, and the immersion into the role is probably what made these messages stick with me so hard.

2:04 Arthur “gotdammit!” A gut punch that I never saw coming and still gets me. Hosea was a father figure to so many, and the voice of reason. Rip my fictional homie. And a tip of my hat to the actors that brought this masterpiece of a story together.
But cmon, you gotta give John credit, through the story, Morgan n Marston have not seen eye to eye in the beginning, so seeing @8:25, makes me smile and say, "Now thats a brother, thats FAMILY".
14:45 No it was the complete opposite, he wanted to be faced to the west seeing the setting sun but instead he was faced to the east watching the sunrise.
Ty Mr Clark for the best game character I'm ever likely to enjoy. I'm 55 & on my 8th playthrough & will never tire of the beauty of this masterpiece or of the wonderful, rich characters that you all bought to life.
8:42 Ive been noticing people saying that Javier did not point his gun at Arthur and John and I am quite baffled by the fact that no notice that he did at the very end of the cutscene right before Arthur takes cover behind the crates. However, it’s worth mentioning that he did hesitate whether to do so or not unlike the dumb Bill and that should count for something.
I was very late playing this game and I went high honor all the way. The "I'm afraid," cut scene is where the game broke me. I stopped and sat there for a good amount of time after that. I genuinely thought about life. I thought about my parents and my kids.. it really put whats important right into view. We're not here long, people. Enjoy your life, treat others well and help out if you've got the opportunity.
I don’t know what i would have done without this game and the people who helped make this masterpiece piece it was the only thing that helped me cope with the loss of two of my most loved and cared for grandparents one of them who loved westerns
man, arthur morgan and john marston are the best characters in game, I had my eyes sweating in both games (good endings of course)... arthur is pure heart/honor, john is the best family/father in a game (of course in rd1 we did not had arthur, so in the second game they show that arthur helped him to be better, become who he was in rd1, and this makes both so good characters, the construction is so good)
Another theory of why did Dutch shoot Micah, is that when John and Micah started to mention Arthur, Dutch remembered the night Arthur died, how Arthur was looking to his eyes telling him a last time Micah was the rat, and Dutch eventually even realized that Micah was a bad one, for shooting Susan Grimshaw while she did nothing wrong to the gang
Every now and then as John, I would ride my horse up to Arthur's grave and look over the RDR2 landscape. It is one of the most stunning views of the game. The epilogue REALLY feels like you are reliving the past. If you visit past gang spots, you'll hear the echoes of the gang and I've only noticed that recently.
I love Roger Clark so much for giving us the iconic and best protagonist in video games. You both changed and influenced my life and I will never forget you.
I didn't notice Javier was pointing his gun in the air in that scene -- my mind was still reeling from Micah shooting Grimshaw. But yeah great detail from R* -- shows Javier sides with Dutch but still is not happy to shoot Arthur and John. I was hoping Javier to join Arthur but it came no surprise he would rally to Dutch's side. I remember in Clemens Cove he asked Dutch what's next after hiding in the south like a bunch of criminals. Dutch responded that the gang are outlaws, rebelling against the system. Javier: there is a difference between an outlaw and a criminal?
Javier's VA wanted to side with Arthur, the story of RDR1 doesn't allow that though so he asked for that little symbolism of being on dutchs side though still caring for the 2.
I kind of wish that hadn't happened, it goes against what was established in the first Red Dead Redemption. "He had a lot of passion, but no love. He never cared for me, or anybody else." -John
Heck I’m playing through the story as we speak….. for like the 25th time and I’m STILL finding interactions with ransoms and treasures and items I have never seen
Watching this video I just feel so much emotion reflecting on the work and detail put into making this game so great and what is has become and how much it means to each and every player who bought rdr2 I have some amazing memories attached to this game and will forever hold red dead redemption 2 dear to my heart thank you rockstar and I can’t begin to even show my appreciation and love for Roger Clark’s involvement and creation of one of the most iconic characters of any game in history Arthur Morgan you are an amazing actor and person Mr Clark thank you so much for all your amazing hard work.

What is incredible is that even 11 years after it started being produced, 7 years after it was published, thousands of awards (IT SHOULD'VE WON THE FUCKING GOTY) and the actors still have to say something before unknown about the game. Absolute masterpiece

I could listen to this guy talking for hours. I've always loved to hear Arthur Morgan speaking in the game. He has a relaxing voice filled with confidence.

Roger made that game so much better than it would’ve been with someone else voicing Arthur. His voice is just perfect for an outlaw cowboy.
He said he started motion capture in August 2013. Now, it's possibly gta 6 started production in 2018 after Rdr2's released. So, this is why gta 6 takes so damn long.
Dude, you are da man! I jumped back into video games only in the past year after a 20+ year hiatus, and got RDR2... holy shit!
your voice acting is incredible, the movements and expressions of Arthur Morgan, the detail, even going into town and watching full on vaudeville shows, I never saw anything like that. Thank you for your work in that game.
Ahhh I broke the goddamm wheel
Hahahahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂 that line always makes me crack up 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
There's a couple compilations on youtube with funny moments in the game and I swear Arthur is like 90% of them 😂
I can't remember who said it but was after Micah was captured:

red dead 2, i've been gaming since a kid, rdr2 hands down bar none best game i've ever played. i don't even think there is a close second. also, my kids got me a birthday greet from you ? i still have it in an email. ty for the best character in gaming ever.
so much love and respect for this series.

This was a delight watching him react to RDR2. I think the only thing better would have been to watch Roger Clark play the whole game.
When he did Arthur's voice with accent I had shivers in my whole body
The cast of Red Dead genuinely has some of the best performances I’ve ever seen. Roger Clark’s acting exceeds levels beyond impressive. Love the guy.
Had the pleasure of meeting Roger Clark on a rainy day walking around my city. Got a selfie with him cool ass dude.
The first time I played the game, I cried at the ending. The second time I thought that it won't make me that emotional but I cried even harder as I did all the side quests and saw Arthur change for the better. This game truly is an experience.
you Sir did an awesome great Job voicing Arthur, even after all those years, the voice is still stuck in my head
Im glad content about RDR2 is still being made. I just finished my first playthrough about 2 weeks ago, and it was a once in a lifetime experience. Seeing how much was put into the world developement along side the characters always amazes me.
Saddest part of the game, when my horse died.
The part when he says : "thank you...." 😢
(Flashback to the death of Atreyu's horse Artax from The Neverending Story)
@@DanielThureskogDon't forget the horse in Ghost of Tsushima Because it's similar to the Red Dead death scene Where Jin says something similar to Arthur saying "Thank you."
Omg😢😢😢😢
Roger Clark will forever be immortalized as Arthur Morgan.
Also that's sick, Agent Milton's actor is a descendant of Wild Bill Hickok??
I love how Arthurs voice changes when he gets tb. You can hear that there is something wrong with his lungs. I imagine recording this was a pain in the ass
Roger Clark has a history book on the 1800's it's really good. The best part is your listening to Author tell you the true history not the crap they teach you in school today.
11:51 not just that, I'd like to think it extends to RDR1 as well, as we know Dutch was never went to hunt and kill John after all those 3-4 years, only when John was forced to hunt him down he then retaliated. But even then, he had many opportunity to kill John, instead of doing it he gave his life away, choosing to fall over the cliff instead of trying to fight John for what was left.
Arthur actually died facing East. I think this was done to show him moving on from the world, into something more hopeful.
But isn’t west where he longed to go the whole game?

i've been playing video games since i was kid- starting with Duck Hunt on NES. it was only until i was older, playing RDR2, that a video game actually pulled at my heart so much that i ended up crying like a baby at the end. this game is a masterpiece and Roger Clark did a phenomenal job. Arthur Morgan is one of, if not the best, protagonist of any video game ever. much love.
The thing I love the most about Roger is he didnt view this as "just another acting job" he took his role seriously and his respect for the fans of the series is just immense. Say what you want about Rockstar but their hiring department are outstanding.
2:04 Arthur “gotdammit!” A gut punch that I never saw coming and still gets me. Hosea was a father figure to so many, and the voice of reason. Rip my fictional homie. And a tip of my hat to the actors that brought this masterpiece of a story together.
I still hear Arthur whenever he speaks. I wish we would get like a part two of this. Where he also covers other missions or like the Strangers
One of the greatest performances in video game history! I hope Roger Clark shows up in GTA 6.
Best Arthur quotes in my opinion
1. Lennyyyyyyyy
2. I'm afraid
3. You sir are a fish.
But cmon, you gotta give John credit, through the story, Morgan n Marston have not seen eye to eye in the beginning, so seeing @8:25, makes me smile and say, "Now thats a brother, thats FAMILY".
He is always going to be such a legendary person and actor man
True
14:45 No it was the complete opposite, he wanted to be faced to the west seeing the setting sun but instead he was faced to the east watching the sunrise.
no, he was buried facing west like he wished but he died facing east watching the sunrise. he just got them mixed up but he's got the spirit
Roger Clark is an absolute legend! Arthur Morgan is still leagues above most characters I’ve experienced in all forms of media I’ve seen.
No way that just when I‘m searching for a video of Roger Clark playing rdr2 this pops up!
Roger, you say that you were blessed, but it's US who were blessed by your performance of Arthur! Thank you!

4:01...I ain't going to lie, after Dutch left me to die, I tried to shoot him a couple of times on the way to missions.
Insane to think Roger went into the Epilogue blind just like we did. That final showdown at Mount Hagen is still vivid.
I don’t know what i would have done without this game and the people who helped make this masterpiece piece it was the only thing that helped me cope with the loss of two of my most loved and cared for grandparents one of them who loved westerns
My late Mum loved Westerns and I never got it, until I played this game. Now it's one of my favorite genres.
man, arthur morgan and john marston are the best characters in game, I had my eyes sweating in both games (good endings of course)... arthur is pure heart/honor, john is the best family/father in a game (of course in rd1 we did not had arthur, so in the second game they show that arthur helped him to be better, become who he was in rd1, and this makes both so good characters, the construction is so good)
Another theory of why did Dutch shoot Micah, is that when John and Micah started to mention Arthur, Dutch remembered the night Arthur died, how Arthur was looking to his eyes telling him a last time Micah was the rat, and Dutch eventually even realized that Micah was a bad one, for shooting Susan Grimshaw while she did nothing wrong to the gang
Thanks Roger Clark for giving life to the greatest and best written fictional character ever!
He does aim at Arthur seconds later but somehow nobody notices
@@user-hx6gs9rq7u yes thank you, i thought i was the only one who noticed it too
Javier's VA wanted to side with Arthur, the story of RDR1 doesn't allow that though so he asked for that little symbolism of being on dutchs side though still caring for the 2.
But john found javier in rdr1 and told him that him and dutch abandoned them and gets crazy
I kind of wish that hadn't happened, it goes against what was established in the first Red Dead Redemption.
"He had a lot of passion, but no love. He never cared for me, or anybody else." -John
The high honor helping john is technically a good ending cause it shows Arthur Morgans development as a character and his redemption
Heck I’m playing through the story as we speak….. for like the 25th time and I’m STILL finding interactions with ransoms and treasures and items I have never seen
Gamology had a plan with that post and thanks to that they go to Tahiti with a tram.
(I'm using my brother's PC for this) I feel like we've all collectively agreed that the high honor ending for helping John is the canon ending.
rdr2 is my favorite video game ever
Watching this video I just feel so much emotion reflecting on the work and detail put into making this game so great and what is has become and how much it means to each and every player who bought rdr2 I have some amazing memories attached to this game and will forever hold red dead redemption 2 dear to my heart thank you rockstar and I can’t begin to even show my appreciation and love for Roger Clark’s involvement and creation of one of the most iconic characters of any game in history Arthur Morgan you are an amazing actor and person Mr Clark thank you so much for all your amazing hard work.
Great video, thanks. So heartwarming to see that Roger is as much a fan as any of us, even noticing some small details, and understanding deep and complex characters, their motives. Not a lot of players actually do that or appreciate the work that was put into all of that sadly.
I like how y'all said that he "reacted" to the game like he didn't both do the motion capture and do the voice lines and play it 5 times already
Black Lung, you're back hooray
We really deserved an undead nightmare 2 with roger and all the gang
Yes. We need a full remake of rdr1 also

9:33 this is one of those scenes that made me cry. I was so attached to Arthur Morgan. Roger Clark and R* did a great job with this game. RDR2 is such a huge game that I can't see any other game being better than this (except graphically). I am not sure if GTA VI will be as good as RDR2‚ but it is the only game that could compete with RDR2.
That scene with Sister Calderone really caught me off guard the first time i saw it. It is now one of my favorite scenes in the story. It really showed Author's vulnerable side. He was human.
