    Hi from Germany, each time you set idle speed on one carb you will automatically change the other side! Both carbs are connected via the linkage. That is why you always have to disconnect one side from that linkage. There are some vids on yt on this matter yet, check fisher buggies or jbugs i.e.
    Great car and engine, sounds awesome 👍

      Hey whats going on brother!! Yes this video is a little older, in some later vids I go through the process and also include the linkage specifics... Good looking out though and I appreciate the support!!!!

  • @clintonwilloughby7606

    Did you adjust your linkage after syncing the carbs? It could be your problem. After adjusting the idle position of the throttle plates you need to reset the linkage so that the plates open at the same time. Good luck and thanks for making the videos. Have a great day!

      Great catch... I'll check that this morning. Disconnect my linkage, check sync again then adjust my linkage. Thank you Clinton!!

      Man, I'm going to have to go back and watch that video... it was awhile back. Pretty sure this was solved by running a new fuel line. The old stock line just couldn't keep up with the needs.

    • @JWClassicVW
      @JWClassicVW  10 місяців тому +2

      It was through trial and error as each engine will need a little tuning to dial in what's best for your setup. I've seen a number of different rpm to timing configurations. 30/3000 is a good place to start.

    Dude! That ethereal, cosmic sort of synthesizer sound that came in at 19:18 is really similar to the alarm sound on my phone. When I heard it, I ran off looking for my phone only to find that it wasn't time for any alarm to go off. You had me pretty confused there. LOL I bet you didn't even intend to prank your viewers. I saw you put it at 7 bar with snail. I have it at 4.5 till 5 bar. Do you consider it is to low! In idle it runs stable but at acceleration doesn’t accelerate nicely! Weber’s just been cleaned.

      Weber 40's jetted properly would be ok and give you an upgrade path. But a better choice may be a set of 34mm.

    11:56 lean pop. Better check your float! It is not lean popping constantly so it’s not a clogged idle jet. So I would be checking needle & seat or float level! :-)

      Hey Sean!! Thanks for the question brother, that is the 1st configuration of the venting the block. Very important with a high CC block like this 2276 to get the crankcase pressure out through the breather system. Now, my venting may be a bit of overkill but I love it!! lol
