@@DemonLordGamingAC0 are you 12 years old? It's funny, you criticize GTs realism while giving a completely unrealistic critique lol there's a spectrum of realism in racing games and gt is far closer to the realistic end. Just because it pales in comparison to assetto corsa and rfactor 2 doesn't change the fact that it was the most realistic racing game on console until AC was released, and is still easily #2 (I don't count ACC. It has shit FFB anyways)
@Angelo Griffith Most top sims don't have realistic visual damage model too but they are still highly regards sims especially on PC. -> iRacing has visual damage only on specific racing cars that can have their panels detached from the body, most cars don't. -> ACC have very limited visual damage model where a hood might be lifted up slightly, scratches via normal and diffuse maps but all the body panels stick with the car and the deformation is faked with normal/bump map. -> rFactor is basically no visual damage unless you use a mod. rFactor 2 might have on certain cars. -> GT7 does have a mechanical damage model but it has to be enabled, the latest patch added new offline and online events with the damage model where a crash would result in your car to have less performance, stability and downforce, in terms of visual damage it is similar to ACC but no hood lifting. -> Project Cars has a decent visual damage model where body parts will detach but otherwise a mediocre sim so no one really cared. -> Forza 7 have physical soft body deform and scratches like in ACC but that's pretty much it (no loose parts). It's also quite unrealistic since cars don't deform like clay, body panel should crunch/fold. From all the sims I listed I think only rFactor 2 has terminal damage where you can't continue to drive after a crash. (also Dirt Rally but that's a different kind of sim) All sims listed here do have some sort of mechanical damage that affects cars performance and handling. So if the top sims out there don't have proper damage model, we shouldn't expect Gran Turismo to somehow over-exceed in this realm either. A sim that is played well with a controller doesn't make it less of a sim, in GT7 you can see the steering rack indicator HUD in the middle of your screen, when you play with a controller you can see the steering rack movement simulates the non-linear curve and dampening of steering input like in real-life which is smart instead of the linear instantaneous input of the joystick in most other racing games, that is why GT7 is very usable with a controller, only disadvantage is there is no force feedback and you can't be as consistent compared to using a wheel. The reason why most other sims don't play well with a controller because they haven't done a sophisticated steering rack translation model for the joysticks (low priority), not necessarily because the physics don't allow it.
The red frame that surrounds the screen on impact is a masterful touch to sim racing. I've always felt that I wanted to feel my virtual driver suffer brain bleeding after a crash.

I was pulled-in by the title and once I realised the tack, I sat-back and admired the monocle-level defecating on SlightlyMad and their PR stance on their x86 compatible Real Racing 3 remake! a comment on Codemasters FB page said "like using AMG's workshop to build a stock Smart Car" subbed.
He's reviewing it as if it's a hardcore sim when it's not supposed to be that. It's a simcade and it's an absolute joy to play. It's massive fun! Timothy27778 I’m glad you enjoy it dude. But keep in mind it’s not just us elitist, snobby, egotistical sim purists that can’t find the fun in this title. Watch IGN’s review or a number of others cited on GT Planet. Also, whoooosh. If you think Ermin reviewed this as a hardcore sim, you’ve missed the joke. He referenced Slightly Mad’s own words, which touted PC3 as a sim.
@@SimRacing604 It's not an in depth sim but its simulation of car physics is great IMO. IGNs review is weird. So you can't race more than 99 laps- who wants a single race that lasts more than 6 hours? His objection to the classes is weird. Who cares that the sesto elemento is in that class? It has comparable performance. I could go on but I'm getting back to PC3. It doesn't deserve the hate.
LOL....I loved every second of this review. But you forgot to mention one very important point that most sim races love! All sim racers love to play multiplayer with players that love to play arcade games. The mixture of competing with such talent means that sim racers will further enhance their experience by benefitting from the vast driving standards that all arcade racers adhere to. :)
My mind is blown right now having learned you did the master mix on some of my all-time favorite albums, Hail Stan, Doomsday, Periphery III. Awesome man 🤘

I really don't want to waste my time typing facts we all know about this game, nor do I want to waste your time reading, but not only have I made up my mind about NOT purchasing this game, but also as someone have said in the comments to look out for "Ian Bell" in any future games. I really hope you make your money back.
I like the red frame that appears if you hit something as it also be used in other hardcore simulations such as Call of duty Thats a great addition to sim racing... 👍

As if any normal person was going to fall for Ian Bellend telling us how pc3 was gonna be a game changer ! How it’ll do this and do that straight out the box. I remember someone’s comment after pc1 about if he ever met Ian bellend he would crack his jaw.....well join the queue ! I used to comment daily on insta Facebook and Twitter about how it should be seen as fraud to tell a buyer that a product will do something and it does nothing like it was said. Always look at the name ‘Ian Bell’ for any future game release and take a step back from his vile lies.
i'm the kind of racer who can appreciate almost any kind of racing game, but this masterpiece is so well made that makes need for speed heat a triple A quality game
Sadly I was one of those early backers for "Project cars", the game under delivered & made me sick with how much content was cut from the base game & then charged as paid DLC!
To think all of this could've been avoided by the developers just being honest about it being an arcade game. The game itself is not the problem. Their marketing is, and that's pretty sad tbqh
No it's not just marketing. This game is an obnoxious cash grab. Simplified version of an old product with little to no effort put into it. Recycled content, idiotic design choices.
@@digitalcamaro9708 to be honest, the game itself as an arcade racer (which I like too) isn't good either. Bugs everyhwere, upgrade systems/decals/paint jobs are half baked compared to competitive titles in the arcade realm. Graphical bugs keep cropping up. No rumble on xbox controllers (because even in arcade, no QA testing is required). This is not a good show, not for sim, but not for arcade lovers either.
Today I learned that Ermin, one of my favorite Mastering Engineers (I own and live by his Systematic Mixing Guide), is avidly into Simracing and fucking HILARIOUS. This was glorious.
I think that’s a bit sad though, even though PCars and PC2 didn’t live up to the expectations placed on them they were on the right trajectory. For all it’s flaws, and there are many, PC2 is still a decent attempt at a “survey sim” for racing series.
Codemasters think you guys ought to come out your rigs and stretch a little bit 😂... I did with PC3 for about 1 hour of fun with my 5 year old on a controller. Now that he's sleep back in the rig for some sim racing. See guys perspective.
Project Cars 3 can be fun but it's got annoying quirks like not allowing to change motor parts configuration in the tuning menu when in career mode. You must install the parts before entering the race event if you want to tune them. You cannot for example try out better tyres instead of fuel injection, or better brakes instead of suspension. You must do it before to find the right combination of parts to stay in the car classification. Career mode can be challenging to achieve the objectives in order to progress and unlock higher tier events. Your choice of car, driving skills, and your knowledge of tuning the car correctly, are put to the test. (This is the fun part) You get only money if the tiers level up of your driver profile level. You get that from achieving event objectives and driver milestones. The latest update locks you out of the milestone progress which blocks unlocking other events (Invitational events) and levelling up your driver's level. Replays can only be watched if you save them and you can only have 15 saved or 1GB max. Project Cars 3 has great handling physics for a simcade, at times great graphics, great car and track list, great menu music. But it has these dumb design decisions I mentioned. If the progress system had not been locked I could almost recommend this game. Played on PS4 with controller.
Guinness world record for sarcasm. In all seriousness, a revealing and thorough review. So much video evidence supporting why this is the ‘best sim ever!’
Best review ever 👌😂 But joke aside. It's really sad where this title which is still called "Project Cars" is now. Well done Codemasters/SMS for just ignoring thousands of investors (=sim racers) who originally funded this game👏
RazorGaming I guarantee one thing. If this game tanks as bad as Shift2 did, the sim community won’t ever buy his BS again. That bridge has burnt to the bedrock. Fool me once...
ThePandafriend Opinions vary... on console, on a wheel, it was a mess. Bottom line, if the direction was so good, if the game wasn’t beaten badly by its competition, why did Ian Bell do a complete 180° for the next two games?
@Joey Farrell Yeah that might be right but PC2 at least had some improvements to the original sim racing oriented PC1 (ignoring now that we had to buy a new game for this) and I am finding it very suspicious that since Codemasters is on board the game made a 180° turn (no tire/fuel consumption and therefore no pit stops). But maybe I am missing something there.
Very very good video. Brilliantly executed. I really hope someone with no sense of sarcasm watches this and rants at you. Well played sir, well played 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

a comment on Codemasters FB page said "like using AMG's workshop to build a stock Smart Car"

I feel Real Racing has a much less childish looking UI. This one's is more like Asphalt Extreme.
When the trailer for pcars3 drop i was "ooooh boy wow just wow", looked like hotwheels but dipped in cooking oil to give it that extra shine.
Literally just looked at your channel, like “weird that I haven’t heard anything from Ermin about Project CARS 3” 😂😂
Your intuition guides you well, Mike. Literally within the minute it was posted 😂
@@Ermz I bet he's got a nose for it. Smells it a mile away and a decade into the future, like my grandmother does with people that use garlic. 😂

You sim snobs can turn your noses up and prance off snorting like prize winning racehorses but you're missing out on a FANTASTIC simcade racing experience with GREAT physics.
I'm having a new appreciation of Forza Horizon 4 handling.
Forza horizon 4 is supposed to be wack though
@@andrewputnam2717 yea it's an arcade game, i bought pc2 recently and it's handling feels way more realistic

Dear Ermin, thank you for the in-depth review of this video arcade racing game. I really don't want to waste my time typing facts we all know about this game, nor do I want to waste your time reading, but not only have I made up my mind about NOT purchasing this game, but also as someone have said in the comments to look out for "Ian Bell" in any future games. I really hope you make your money back.
I like the red frame that appears if you hit something as it also be used in other hardcore simulations such as Call of duty
Thats a great addition to sim racing... 👍

Damn, the sarcasm is unreal, i hope people realize, if not, Im sorry for you
I didn't realize till I read the comments.
I'll be honest it took me more minutes than I would like to admit to see the sarcasm.
Just had an argument with a guy on twitter that thinks the game is "really good" and worth spending £90 on. Lost cause sadly.
What he loves the game it's his favorite sim now
At least someone has the balls to call it what it is, a huge joke.
Actually, even IGN gave it a fair review, I was rather surprised.
LOL IGN. They lost it years ago.
@@laurasfar18 Out of all IGN reviewers, Luke Reilly is actually the most competent, especially in racing games. Dude really knows his stuff.
Nothing else, just that
Seriously. In essence it's a fine game, but they fucked the marketing up. Too bad I gotta buy and stream it for curious viewers.
No it's not just marketing. This game is an obnoxious cash grab. Simplified version of an old product with little to no effort put into it. Recycled content, idiotic design choices.
@@ErwinLiszkowicz If they were gonna cash grab they would've done a better job marketing it 💀.
This was glorious.
wow the old pc2 looks notably better visually when you see them side by side, this game will appeal to no one
I think it is because the horrible anti aliasing. You can't turn it off, so the picture is always blurry.

Pc2 graphics are amazing. This game is worse than a mobile phone.
19:18 my GOD this shot looks straight out of Toca Race Driver.
the only positive outcome of that mess is knowing with a big degree of certainty that the pcars franchise is now totally dead, gone, extinct.
Sad part is that people will buy it.
RevRideReason- ok so PC3 is just about good enough for a 5 year old. I guess it’s a good place to start indoctrination.
@@SimRacingVeteran still good for something my friend. 😉

Stop, stop! It’s already dead!

Hello there amazing man
Project Cars 3 can be fun but it's got annoying quirks like not allowing to change motor parts configuration in the tuning menu when in career mode.
(This is the fun part)
You get only money if the tiers level up of your driver profile level.
This video is a masterpiece. But Im also crying interally
Guinness world record for sarcasm. In all seriousness, a revealing and thorough review. So much video evidence supporting why this is the ‘best sim ever!’
Best review ever 👌😂
But joke aside.
@@1RolandG70
Shift 2 was a pretty fun game though. Definitely not a sim, but nevertheless fun to play.
@@1RolandG70
Yep, it's just an opinion. I don't say that it's universal.
Very very good video. Brilliantly executed. I really hope someone with no sense of sarcasm watches this and rants at you. Well played sir, well played 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I liked PC2. ACC is amazing even with its console bugs. PC3 reminds me of the arcade racing games that you had a go in at Brighton pier in the 80's. One I will be missing for sure!
It took me about 12 minutes before I realized that this is one of the most brilliant examples of sarcasm I have ever had the privilege of watcing!! Well done, Ermin. Did anyone notice that you could customize your car with decals of UA-camrs Chris Haye and Yorkie?
They are getting eviscerating reviews everywhere and rightly so, this is a pathetic cash grab. What a joke

When I saw this video title in the suggested videos, I was like "Is this guy on drugs".
After I watched the entire video, I have to say: BRAVO!! Brilliant :D
So much fun and honesty xD
This review was perfect (just like Project Cars 3 as a ultra realistic simulator). The bar has been set high for sims like ACC, RF2, and AMS2.
Forza Horizon has always been my fave sim racer before this (maybe NFS Heat as well), but the biblical proportions of the launch of this beautiful masterpiece change my opinion.
PC3 is not just a sim racer, it can solve all the world problems.
It will end all wars.
It will end poverty.
It will bring immortality to all life on earth.
Random fact: If I had written down one positive about this game every day since the year 100 AD, I would only be 10% of the way through my list of positives about this piece of art.
I look forward to when SMS release all the fairly priced dlc that is bound to come at some point in the future.
