you must try Marang fruit, its a fruit from mindanao, its has an amazing floral aroma and flavor like much akin to cherimoya or like a combination of strawberries and pineapple mixed with cream and very juicy
That sugar apple also have those seedless, mostly bought in Batangas. Also the bigger version w/ a bit look a like of jackfruit s the Guyabano w/c is a little bit sour in taste.
Or, since you (Mike and Nelly) love sinigang, the flesh of santol can also be used for sinigang in replacement of tamarind. It may not be ass sour though
Sugar apple - ATIS. ( in Tagalig) Cooton fruir - SANTOL Guava - BAYABAS Red with hairy peel RAMBUTAN Looks like ponegrebate - MANGOSTEEN Jackfruit - LANGKA last fruit - DURIAN ( so yummy)
KarenV: Me and my husband are big fans of you and Mike from Southern California. We watch your vlogs everyday. I miss all the fruits back home. You should try these fruits: 1. Chesa (Egg fruit), 2. Mabolo (velvet apple), 3. Caimito (star apple), 4. Chico (Sapodilla), 5. Guyabano (Soursop), 6. Duhat (Java plum), 7. Siniguelas (Spanish plum), 8. Makopa (Java apple) 8. Aratilis (Jamaica Cherry), and if you can fresh and rioe Tamarind. There are so many fruits to try. I hope the pandemic will soon be over so we can come home without having to quarantine. Stay safe and God bless!
I’m so jealous watching you guys eat those exotic fruits of the Ph. I now live in the UK. If ever there exotic fruits sold here mostly at Asian shops they costs the earth. Santol fruit: you’ re supposedly to peel this leaving the flesh bit then rub with little salt and eat. Suck the seeds but don’t swallow. Be sure buy the very riped fruit so its not sour to eat. Enjoy our Philippine tropical fruits. Keep safe! By the way I love watching your vlogs and keep your good work going.
1. Atis/ Sugar Apple or Custard Apple 2. Santol/ Cotton fruit - the meaty brown part can be eaten dip in salt or bagoong (shrimp paste) 3. Bayabas/ Guava - we also use that for cooking sinigang, ginataang halohalo etc 4. Rambutan - Lychee like 5. Mangosteen - sweet sour fruit that has so many health benefits 6. Jackfruit - we also use it for turon, halohalo 7. Durain - pungently delish
Santol or cotton fruit you can use it cooking sinigang the meat of santol can be use for sinigang, the whole fruit we make fruit juice dring like lemonade.
You can also eat the outer part of the santol. We eat it with either salt or bagoong. You can also make it into a juice. It can also make a food called sinantolan. The langka is also used in halo-halo & other kakanins (rice cakes).
Jackfruit is sometimes cooked and caramelized with sugar and water to make it "candied" sweet fit for dessert. It is also used in Halo-halo for that sweet flavor.
I really enjoyed watching your vlog. Here are some Tagalog words from what you tried from our local fruits. Dalandan- Dalanghita Guava-Bayabas Cotton Fruit- Santol Sugar Apple- Atis Must try; Star Apple- Kaimito Spanish Plum- Sinigwelas Star Fruit- Balimbing Soursop- Guyabano And also maybe you must try our street foods like Balot,Penoy, isaw, adidas, kwek kwek, pares and more. Welcome to the Philippines 😁😁😁 Welcome home to your 2nd family☺️
I also love chico....I ate so much when I visited the country after 45 yrs absence. I thought I will have diarrhea but no...my stomach tolerated it and has lots of fibers the following day I made a big dump but a really good one.
The Sugar Apple, or locally know as Atis, is one of my favorites. Unfortunately there is no easy way to eat it. You really need a coordinated mouth and tongue to eat an Atis. Yes you put in a few seeds at a time and eat the meat off the seeds and spit the seeds out. The Santol, yes you just eat the inner part and yes like the atis, you use your mouth to eat the meat off the seed. Fun fact, the somewhat almost ripe santol, skin, is sometimes used to make sinigang. Some provinces uses the sinner skin also for some other dishes. The third one you ate is the Guava, or localy known as Bayabas. I love these when they are somewhat green almost yellow and are somewhat sour and sweet and eat it with salt. Also, the unripe one is used as a souring agent for sinigang in some provinces. The fourth one, the harry ball fruit is locally called Rambutan which is another family of the lychee. the next one is the Mangosteen which is also one of my favorites. The correct wat to open it is to remove the top by peeing the stem off to the side and squeezing the fruit in between your palms clasped together. Be careful of the red skin, sometimes the color is hard to get rid off. If its sour, its not ready yet. Its supposed to be a little sweet with a little sour. Lastly, i'd rather have jackfruit than durian. As a sidenote The inner skin of the jackfruit, is used in the Philippines as a dish called Ginataang Langka, or Jackfruit in coconut milk. Incidentally, its now a popular meat substitute in a lot of vegan dishes.
The santol meat is used for sinigang too as its sour… Though some eats the meat by dipping it with shrimp paste.. Nevertheless, you will just nibble on the seeds.
the santol meat is eaten but without the skin. it is soaked first to vinegar. (vinegar is depends with ur preference. spicy or other filipino vinegar) and u dip it with salt.
I have tried the santol as a dish. Oir neighbor gave us a ginataang santol. It's like bicol express but instead of meat or pork, it's grinded santol (the orange part not the seed) And its so amazingly tastes good. 😋😊👍
I love the look at Mike’s face for #2 while looking at Nelly 1. Atis (Sugar Apple) - that’s how we eat it 2. Santol (Cotton Fruit) - we peel it and eat it with its flesh inside then to the seed / with rock salt 3. Guava - we eat all except the crown part / can also be used in cooking Sinigang with Fish (Bangus) 4. Rambutan - that’s how we eat it 5. Mangosteen - that’s how I eat it 6. Jackfruit - sweet; good for meals and desert (we also cook the seed and have it like a freshly cooked cashew) 7. Durian - I am not a fan of Durian some eat it while pinching their nose (so as not to confuse smell with taste) Try a good ripe chico (smells like rootbeer)
Thanks for tasting these fruits. They are abundant in Asia and not just in the Philippines. I hope you asked or googled these fruits, the nutritional value, and the way to eat them. The skin of the santol after peeling the yellow part can be eaten. The 3rd fruit is ripe native guava, you can eat the skin. The 5th fruit is mangosteen. Try other fruits too.
I love fruits! I can be a fruitarian if there's no more other food to eat. You should be invited to a Filipino family home during New Year celebration. We serve at least 12 kinds of fruits in the table as a tradition to welcome the New Year together with the fireworks.
Oh my God! I missed all those fruits! I wanna go home in the Philippines! I'm your avid fan always watching your blogs anywhere you want. Thank you for sharing your experience! So much to catch up when I get home... I'm here working at San Francisco CA and you guys always been so great about entertainmed us who work hard for our family. Thank you to help us to ease our boredom and loneliness as well. ♥️💥😊😘
I know how you feel... I live in Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 and I'm so excited about going back to the Philippines for a nice long vacation to catch up with friends and family and so my son can meet my family. It's been too long and I actually get sad when I think about how long it's been 😩☹😭
U may also like karnaba and marang.. Santol has varieties. The seed is sweet. Ang you can peel it ang eat the inner part. Its supposed to be soury. We dip it to soysauce with chili. Or just plain salt
I love all the fruits you have picked up from the market except for the Durian 😖. Other native fruits you could also try are: star apple (caimito), sapodilla (chico), soursop (guyabano), java plums (duhat) and spanish plums (siniguelas).
-I have not had the “atis” sugar apple for a long time. But my favorite Filipino fruit is -1. Indian mango when it’s not ripe. It’s a sour mango eaten raw and we always eat it with shrimp paste or just plain salt. It’s a good one for salad because it’s crunchy and it’s sour. - my second favorite is lanzones - third is Makopa. I am not sure if there still Makopa in the Philippines. - 4th is star apple or Kaimito. - 5th sineguelas kinda like the Spanish plum- - 6th- camachile -7th aratilis - 8th- pomelo at Tuguegarao region - other fruits in the Philippines that you probably tried already or not - passion fruit, papaya, balimbing (star fruit), bignay (they use for wine), duhat, chesa (least favorite, it looks like persimmon), mabolo. - the guava in the Philippines have different variety. They have those on some part of the Philippines where they have this small green guava that are very sweet eventhough it’s not fully ripe and the pulp are thicker. I grew up having this different kind of fruits in our backyard in the nueva Ecija province. Not sure if they still have this there.
For the mangosteen, if you look at the bottom of the fruit you will see a small flower-like thingie (not the one at the stem), the number of petals will tell you how many cloves it has inside. :)
My favorite is mangosteen. It’s super healthy it’s considered a superfood. You can just squeeze it open with the palms of your hands. No need for a knife :)
Omg. Im salivating after the 1st fruit! 🤤Oh how I miss the tropical fruits in the PI. I loved atis or “sugar apple” growing up. My mom and I would split one and compete who will get the most seeds 😆
hi there 👋 my 1st in your channel🤗 i did enjoyed watching u😉 the alien thingy" fruit w/ kinda hairy outer part is RAMBUTAN 😊 "fosillized pee" is MANGOSTEEN and that sugar apple is ATIS.... must try fruits here in PH🤩
Hands down mango, then santol, guava then Atis or as you called it star apple. Atis smells really good and tastes good as well. I’m not sure I can say the same about durian though. Haha!
Atis is my favorite with mango. We live in SF area in CA. Our first stop after we arrived in the Philippines is always Dampa to buy some Atis (Sugar Apple), mangosteen, jackfruits and mangos and lakatan banana. I ate Durian for the first time, the taste was like a creamy custard. Please try guyabano, pomelo from Davao, lansones, and makopa.
Paul, we go to San Jose to a store called Tropical Fruits. They carry a lot of these fruits depending on the season. There are 2 stores in that shopping center that sell tropical fruits. They are not cheap though.
Mike’s reaction to eating Durian is exactly the same reason I don’t eat it fresh. I prefer it in ice cream or in a candied form. Have you tried Star Apple (Caimito), Marang, and Guyabano (Soursop)?
There' s similarity of manggosteen (purple) and santol (orange) but manggonsteen is sweeter than santol,,,and manggosteen has more nutrients than santol
Sadly, even though I'm Filipino, I never acquired the taste for durian. I hate the smell and the taste. Even when they make it into candy, I still hate it. So not all Filipinos like it. My favorites among the ones you tasted are the atis (sugar apple) and the Mangosteen. The langka (jackfruit) for me is best eaten with halo-halo or ginataang bilo-bilo.
As a durian fan, i honestly don't know where the non-eaters get the foul smell , I don't understand how it smells for them. For me when i smell durian, it craves me to eat one, like an aphrodisiac 😂 i never get the bad smell at all, pure delicious kinda smell. And the taste is like 80% similar to milk and so creamy. There's like a 5% exotic flavor but barely noticeable. Durian>Langka
@@griefer1851 Wow, the way you described durian, it makes me wish that it would taste to me the way it does to you. But sadly, weird as it may sound, it tastes to me the way it smells.
Some tropical fruits are good with condiments. Big green guava good with soy sauce+sugar, fish sauce+sugar, or simply with salt. Dalandan good with fish sauce+sugar or simply with salt Santol good with vinegar, fish sauce with sugar, or simply with salt
Aside from mangosteen which was one of the fruits you’ve tried, “sineguelas” is my favorite fruit. You should try it and also “duhat”. There’s a lot more local fruits to try next time 🙏
#1st Fruit>ATIS…It would be better if you eat it with spoon or teaspoon to scoop up the flesh and seeds. It is impossible to eat with seeds.😊 We have this fruit here in Spain,Barcelona and we call it “ Chirimoya”.I am not really sure though if it comes from here. And they come BIGGER than Atis. #2 FRuit> SANTOL…the way to eat that and enjoy the flavor,is to chooped entirely the outer side( after peeling) then press sprinkle with salt all around it to soften it around your palm.It will only then you’ll taste the real flavor of that fruit😊. #3Fruit> GUAVA..Guava normally for “ me” i prefer it crunchy ( when it is not ripe,a good source of vitamin C). Simply wash & eat. #4Fruit>Lychee.. yes,i love this fruit . #5Fruit>Mangosteen… i l😍ve this fruit,i can eat a bucket in just one sit😂.Sweet, cottony😋 #6Fruit>Jackfruit..this fruit can be eaten fresh of sweetened ( but i prefer it fresh😅). #7Fruit>Durian…i love this fruit.I started eating this when i was in Singapore.I loved it since then. A fruit that i can eat everyday.😅😅😅😅😅 Thanks Nelly & Michael for sharing this piece of moment in your lives with us.🥰 I enjoy your vlogs a lot.Stay safe always and God bless. Looking forward to watch your vlogs back here in EU..😘
This, I preferred carabao variety than what we called manga Cebu which have a very smooth texture. Carabao's sweetness is different and its odor as well.
I laughed so hard when I saw Mike's reactions to tasting the durian fruit, it changed from mmmm... uhhhh!... mmmm. uhhh! in a matter of seconds combined with the changing facial reactions, I teared up from laughing! He looked so confused! Hahaha!!! :D
Ha ha ha, talking about Durian, never taste the fruit itself. I remember one time our neighbour came back from Davao and brought a small container of frozen durian to my mom. However, since my mom never eaten durian yet, she thought it was already bad so she threw it out. When our neighbor asked her if she ate it already she said yes and our neighbor said the smell was really bad but it taste good and my mom said yes it was bad but it taste good just so she will not hurt her feelings that she threw it away and she thanked her.
I love the smell of Durian. I can smell it every second. Next time try eating Passion Fruit. Dragon Fruit. Lomboy/Java Plum. Tambis/Watery Rose Apple. Makopa/Java Apple. Iba/Kamias. 😅
I realized it would be good to call someone how to eat a certain fruit if you're not sure how to. That way you can react accordingly to how locals actually take and eat the fruits. Just a thought. But yeah, I guess UA-cam has it too, hehe. :)
When Nelly said she wants durian ...my reaction is😁😁😁 ..you 2 are getting Filipino now.., you can peel the santol and chop the flesh finely then dunk it in vinegar with salt( spicy or not) will be good. And the fruit that looks like santol inside is mangosteen..
Sugar apple aka. custard apple is the best ingredient for ice cream.Santol makes great dessert, too. You just have to make it soft by hitting it, you can use bottles to hit it (don't hit too hard ,you'll break it just imagine the force you use to bounce a basketball). When it's soft, peel the skin and slice the flesh. Soak the flesh in sugar syrup with a pinch of salt for a night in a fridge. It's super perfect for a hot day.
I also love sugar apple (we call it ATIS btw). Jackfruit can be found when you eat halo-halo, it is usually there. Next time you can try lansones, chico, kayomito, and melon.
Sugar Apple or Atis can be planted on a big pot just keep it in 8 feet high and wire the branches going down so that most of its fruit can be reached. Jackfruit has 2 good uses in cooking, as a savory dish when it's about the size of 2 coconuts and white flesh means it's ok for ginataang langka where you cook it with pork belly, gata, sili, some crab fat alamang and sili leaves or scallions it may rival bicol express. As a ripe fruit it's yellow flesh is a sweetener for banana turon like what Lucy cooked mixing soft sweet firm banana and somehow creamy texture of jackfruit, also included in a lot of desserts like mini sapin sapin of Fitzgerald's. For the durian to lose its stink aftertaste you can cook it as a dessert like candy which every country have used it as a dessert.
Comment below what's your favorite fruit down below :)
I love Langka (Jackfruit)😋😋😋
Atis 😊🇵🇭
Sugar apple is also my fav. “Atis” in Tagalog. Really delicious when ripe.
Mango is the king of Philippines fruit. The top fruit of all...

That sugar apple also have those seedless, mostly bought in Batangas. Also the bigger version w/ a bit look a like of jackfruit s the Guyabano w/c is a little bit sour in taste.
We also do have that fruit here in luzon
You have to peel the skin of the Santol and eat the meat and dip it in salt.
Then you have to try Chico, Lanzones, Caimito/Starapple.
insert marang
The outer part of the santol, we use that for cooking sinantulan. I hope you may try that one day, it’s cooked with coconut milk.
I hope someone has already mentioned that you can cook the outer [peeled] covering of the santol into santol preserve or jam. I highly recommend it!
This!
Or, since you (Mike and Nelly) love sinigang, the flesh of santol can also be used for sinigang in replacement of tamarind. It may not be ass sour though
Ew
yes its true
Yes!! You can also make it savory~ like sauteing it in coconut! :)
Sugar apple - ATIS. ( in Tagalig)

1. Atis/ Sugar Apple or Custard Apple
2. Santol/ Cotton fruit - the meaty brown part can be eaten dip in salt or bagoong (shrimp paste)
3. Bayabas/ Guava - we also use that for cooking sinigang, ginataang halohalo etc

I tried cooking sweet jackfruit in heavy sugar syrup but i prefer the raw.
And you can also cooked it in coconut but not the ripe one. Ginataang langka is ❤
The Durian is considered a fruit that smells like hell but tastes like heaven.
I really enjoyed watching your vlog. Here are some Tagalog words from what you tried from our local fruits.
Dalandan- Dalanghita
Guava-Bayabas
Cotton Fruit- Santol
Sugar Apple- Atis
Must try;
Star Apple- Kaimito
Spanish Plum- Sinigwelas
Star Fruit- Balimbing
Soursop- Guyabano
And also maybe you must try our street foods like Balot,Penoy, isaw, adidas, kwek kwek, pares and more.
Welcome to the Philippines 😁😁😁
Welcome home to your 2nd family☺️
Santol is to be dipped or mixed with salt. You can eat both the inner and outer one, dipping it with salt will make the difference. mm
For guava, you have to eat everything. The pulp has lots of Vitamin C.
Guava can use for cooking, you can use it for sinigang, or you can cook it alone, cook it in coconut milk
My mother in her younger days make quava jelly...
Yup, you can eat everything but hope not to get appendicitis haha
There's more: star apple (kaimito), balimbing, siniguelas, etc. Of course, fruits are seasonal
They should try aratiles, kaimito, balimbing, chesa, sampalok, camachile
Also guyabano
Talking about creamy, they really should try caimito
I like how Nelly appreciate good food especially our local fruits. At least you both try!!
so happy to see u guys enjoying our local fruit🥰🥰🥰
nonestop supporting u guys💗
more love and blessings to the both of u💖💖💖
We normally describe durian taste as "smells like hell but taste like heaven". You just have to get use to it to enjoy it
More like smells like hell, tastes like purgatory😆😂
Ew
yes taste good if ur used to durian
Marang taste better
More like smells like rotten onion and taste like rotten onion.
when you eat the atis OR sugar apple use a teaspoon to scoop everything nicely
Try Chico the ripe soft big ones, it smells like a beer and taste sweet like with sugar granules.
that's why, when someone's drunk, people used to say "amoy chico ka" (you smell like chico)!
I miss those too. Aratilis too & camachil, Duhat too
I also love chico....I ate so much when I visited the country after 45 yrs absence. I thought I will have diarrhea but no...my stomach tolerated it and has lots of fibers the following day I made a big dump but a really good one.
Chico. The sand fruit. Seems like I'm eating sand. Hehe
I don’t know how I missed this video! Look at all that local fruit that I MISSED SO VERY MUCH! 😭😍
Lotsa lotsa pinoy fruits!!! Well done guys! Hi from IRELAND 🇮🇪
You should have part 2 or even 3 because there are more fruits thru out the year.
The Sugar Apple, or locally know as Atis, is one of my favorites. Unfortunately there is no easy way to eat it. You really need a coordinated mouth and tongue to eat an Atis. Tawang tawa ako sa ATIS. RELATE AKO JAN HAHAHA
you also eat the pulp of santol
You can eat the meat of SANTOL but a little bit bitter sour, you can neutralize that by dipping the santol meat to salt.
goodness! was reading and visualizing at the same time that it made me salivate.
Pineapple, Jackfruit (Langka), Mango, Guyabano, & Atis are my faves!
You got the right timing! Most tropical fruits are in season now. Enjoy!
The santol meat is used for sinigang too as its sour… Though some eats the meat by dipping it with shrimp paste.. Nevertheless, you will just nibble on the seeds.
perfect match!
the santol meat is eaten but without the skin. it is soaked first to vinegar. (vinegar is depends with ur preference. spicy or other filipino vinegar) and u dip it with salt.

Mike's confused reaction to durian got me chuckling 😂😂
I love the look at Mike’s face for #2 while looking at Nelly
1. Atis (Sugar Apple) - that’s how we eat it
2. Santol (Cotton Fruit) - we peel it and eat it with its flesh inside then to the seed / with rock salt
3. Guava - we eat all except the crown part / can also be used in cooking Sinigang with Fish (Bangus)
4. Rambutan - that’s how we eat it
5. Mangosteen - that’s how I eat it
6. Jackfruit - sweet; good for meals and desert (we also cook the seed and have it like a freshly cooked cashew)
7. Durian - I am not a fan of Durian some eat it while pinching their nose (so as not to confuse smell with taste)
Try a good ripe chico (smells like rootbeer)
Thanks for tasting these fruits. They are abundant in Asia and not just in the Philippines. I hope you asked or googled these fruits, the nutritional value, and the way to eat them. The skin of the santol after peeling the yellow part can be eaten. The 3rd fruit is ripe native guava, you can eat the skin. The 5th fruit is mangosteen. Try other fruits too.
The fibrous part ofsantol and mangosteen can be steeped with boiling water to make tea. It has some antioxidants to fight cancer.
I love fruits! I can be a fruitarian if there's no more other food to eat. You should be invited to a Filipino family home during New Year celebration. We serve at least 12 kinds of fruits in the table as a tradition to welcome the New Year together with the fireworks.
Sounds great!
do you know that durian seeds when rubbed together with your hands in running water (just like you do with soap) will wash away the smell? try it...
that also holds true with inside part of the rind, rubbing your hands with the inner skin in running water will also get the job done...
Oh my God! I missed all those fruits! I wanna go home in the Philippines! I'm your avid fan always watching your blogs anywhere you want. Thank you for sharing your experience! So much to catch up when I get home...

Hey people c'mon let us appreciate them and support them😊 spread love😊 you guys are always welcome in the Philippines 🤗
U may also like karnaba and marang..
Santol has varieties. The seed is sweet. Ang you can peel it ang eat the inner part. Its supposed to be soury. We dip it to soysauce with chili. Or just plain salt
When you eat guava, you eat the whole thing, including the meat, not just the seeds.
Yes, and add some salt to the fruit to reduce the sour taste...
Dont eat the seeds. When i was young i only eat the seeds i throw away the meat and my aunt told me to throw away the seeds and eat the meat only😀
We eat the meat 😊. Or just eat everything 😁
They said that the vitamins are in the skin.
yes...for guava eat the whole
I love all the fruits you have picked up from the market except for the Durian 😖. Other native fruits you could also try are: star apple (caimito), sapodilla (chico), soursop (guyabano), java plums (duhat) and spanish plums (siniguelas).
Also anunas, camachiles, talang, casoy fruit, sampaloc, saresa, & mountain maroon colour banana.
-I have not had the “atis” sugar apple for a long time. But my favorite Filipino fruit is

-7th aratilis
- 8th- pomelo at Tuguegarao region
- other fruits in the Philippines that you probably tried already or not - passion fruit, papaya, balimbing (star fruit), bignay (they use for wine), duhat, chesa (least favorite, it looks like persimmon), mabolo.

Marang is MY NUMBER ONE
Labana is also good
@@yuriyuri3387 so sour
@@myriadmemento1298 so you never tasted a sweet one..
For the mangosteen, if you look at the bottom of the fruit you will see a small flower-like thingie (not the one at the stem), the number of petals will tell you how many cloves it has inside. :)
In eating the santol you need is like Mango you need to remove the most outer layer skin of it then dip it with a salt before eating the inner layer
The guava, you can eat the whole fruit including the meat not only the seeds.
hi there 👋 my 1st in your channel🤗 i did enjoyed watching u😉 the alien thingy" fruit w/ kinda hairy outer part is RAMBUTAN 😊 "fosillized pee" is MANGOSTEEN and that sugar apple is ATIS.... must try fruits here in PH🤩
Thank you for appreciate our Philippines fruits
You're both hilarious! You're just like babies, innocently trying food for the first time! I love you both so much! 🤣😂😅
You guys have the sweetest funny reactions of Filipino fruits 😂😂😂..
Hands down mango, then santol, guava then Atis or as you called it star apple. Atis smells really good and tastes good as well. I’m not sure I can say the same about durian though. Haha!
Kaymito is Star Apple Atis is Custard Apple😊
its custard apple not star apple
@@princesscleo6206 They (Mike and Nelly) were the ones who called it that. :)
@@princesscleo6206 Thus the part “or as you called it” :)
Away from home country for a long time I realize that Philippines has alot of fruits that you will never seen in other country. I miss those fruits .
South East Asia is blessed with so many delicious fruits you can never find in the other parts of the planet.
mike has the best reaction of eating a durian🥰😂
hahahaha
Atis is my fave, too 😋 If you can find an Arce Dairy Ice Cream Atis flavor, that's good too 🍨
My favorite fruit is Star Apple also known as Caimito.
Im happy that you like our fruits...
Mike’s reaction to eating Durian is exactly the same reason I don’t eat it fresh. I prefer it in ice cream or in a candied form. Have you tried Star Apple (Caimito), Marang, and Guyabano (Soursop)?
marang is breadfruit
Star Apple in Manila is known as Balimbing, while Caimito is actually a circular fruit of a different kind, well at least here in Manila.
@@leopantig6360 balimbing is star fruit.. caimito is star apple..
@@mr.ambungan3865, thank you for correcting me. I was mistaken, Caimito is indeed known as Star Apple while Balimbing is known as Star fruit.
I wish it’s safe to travel to the Philippines so we can taste tropical fruits.
hopefully soon ❤️
Some tropical fruits are good with condiments.
Big green guava good with soy sauce+sugar, fish sauce+sugar, or simply with salt.
Dalandan good with fish sauce+sugar or simply with salt
Santol good with vinegar, fish sauce with sugar, or simply with salt
Jackfruit when yellow is fruit. We also eat that when its green as vegetables. We put coconut milk on the green jackfruit.
Durian is more yummy to eat when it is frozen. Atis is my favorite aside from star apple, lanzones and mangoes of course
That's an amazing collection of fruits. Love Durian, Mangosteen, Santol, Avocado, langka and guyabano🥰❤️😍🙏
Aside from mangosteen which was one of the fruits you’ve tried, “sineguelas” is my favorite fruit. You should try it and also “duhat”. There’s a lot more local fruits to try next time 🙏
I miss eating sineguelas! I can't seem to find it in the country where I live in😩
@@IslanderloverBKK last month was the harvesting of sineguelas
Sugar apple tastes even better when it is cold. We always place ripe sugarapple in the refrigerator for at least one hour before eating.
#5Fruit>Mangosteen… i l😍ve this fruit,i can eat a bucket in just one sit😂.Sweet,cottony😋
#6Fruit>Jackfruit..this fruit can be eaten fresh of sweetened ( but i prefer it fresh😅).
#7Fruit>Durian…i love this fruit.I started eating this when i was in Singapore.I loved it since then.
A fruit that i can eat everyday.😅😅😅😅😅
Thanks Nelly & Michael for sharing this piece of moment in your lives with us.🥰
I enjoy your vlogs a lot.Stay safe always and God bless.
Looking forward to watch your vlogs back here in EU..😘
Santol is so good when dipped in salt and sili. You can also eat the peeled covering of it. In Bicol they cook it too! :)
Just like stinky cheese, durian is an acquired taste. My favorite all time fruit is carabao mango, then caimito (star apple), then all other fruits.
This, I preferred carabao variety than what we called manga Cebu which have a very smooth texture. Carabao's sweetness is different and its odor as well.
When you eat purely ripe Durian fruit, and when you poop it smells the same, Lolz.
Ew
Nice to see you both. Good luck to your local fruits tasting
Santol,guava..you can eat the inside of it..you have to peel the santol and add a little salt..
@@rlenv Horrible Mom 🙄
Mike's reaction to Durian is the best! 🤣 My husband and I replayed it multiple times, and we ended up crying because we were laughing too hard. 😂😂😂😂😂
Arte
I love the smell of Durian. I can smell it every second. Next time try eating Passion Fruit. Dragon Fruit. Lomboy/Java Plum. Tambis/Watery Rose Apple. Makopa/Java Apple. Iba/Kamias. 😅
So much happy watching you guys I'm one of your avid fans here watching you guys from kingdom of saudi Arabia.
Durian is so delicious here in Davao City. It is the fruit of our native country. It is anti-aging and anti-cancer.
I realized it would be good to call someone how to eat a certain fruit if you're not sure how to. That way you can react accordingly to how locals actually take and eat the fruits. Just a thought. But yeah, I guess UA-cam has it too, hehe. :)
where's the lansones?
Lansones is god tier 😭🖐
Jackfruit: I taste good.
Durian: I beg to differ!
For ripe guava,I love it cooked with coconut milk and sugar on it.
Yes it is guava and that kind good for cooking like Sinigang na bangus,tilapia,baboy,baka..
We do eat the meat of santol but mostly not alone, we usually dip them in salt, shrimp paste, etc.
I also love sugar apple (we call it ATIS btw). Jackfruit can be found when you eat halo-halo, it is usually there. Next time you can try lansones, chico, kayomito, and melon.
watching from Philippines love this reaction
Santol/Cotton fruit is also know as "wild mangosteen". You can tell the similarities of the shape and structure mangosteen and santol.
The round one with a purple color is mangosteen the skin has a medicinal value.
For the guava, the best variety I think are the native ones, small but packs a good sweetness, the best tasting lansones are those with small seeds.
Try eating the santol and guava and dalandan with a liitle bit of salt. It may be rock salt or iodized.. it makes a difference
You could use the santol seed as a juice just put the seeds in a pale of water leave it in the fridge to cool put sugar and drink
that is granada.. it looks like a guava.. but its tree looks different..the granada tree is a nice garden plant
Please try guyabano and kayomito (star apple). Put it first in fridge and eat it when its cold. Its refreshing!
Sugar apple or atis one of the best local fruits ..langka/jack fruit, santol, rambutan, much more local fruits...mango has different varities too..
