They care about aesthetics, and still retain the traditional European classical teaching methods along with traditional Chinese brush painting techniques in their art schools. Really high quality public art and so many bronze statues and whimsical art pieces everywhere.

Xin tian di is a very trendy place, bars & restaurants. I go there every time if i fly over to Shanghai. there are quite a lot of this kind of places in Shanghai French consession area. LIke Heng Shan Lu or Wulumuqi Lu etc. another great video!

talk about a trip down memory lane. We visited Shanghai regularly and fantastic to see it all once again. Thank you. the Yu gardens are unique - did you notice that the whole huge fence surround has a dragon with the head at the entrance and the tail running around the entire 5 acres -amazing. Went to the Museum to see the bronzeware, incredible too. Its a fabulous city, sophisticated and so many different areas. We used to watch the entertainment on a Friday night in Nanjing Road. and the couples dancing the tango in the Park. So glad you enjoyed it.

I think you are on the another side of Yu garden , the Yu Garden was build in 15th , you should find the gate and explore inside the garden , it looks very pretty, the outside commercial area was new build
Another fun detail: in China Tesla's are seen as a cheap brand of electric cars (they are manufactured there) so many Chinese prefer other brands. By the end of 2023 over 20 million people drove an electric car and it's even more now. They also have another colour of license plate: green, as opposed to blue for the cars still driving on petrol. For scooters the electrical ones are surpassing the ones on petrol by now. China does much better in this respect than other countries.

When I was in India the bathroom sink drain pipe had no "P-trap" and the smell was awful. Maybe this is an Asian thing. The P-trap is a dip in the pipe that traps water so that gas can't come back up the pipe.
