This was very informative! Good job!
Thank you! 😊
Terrible! Do NOT buy from Kay’s! Paid $1000 for a ring that was never sent and they are delaying and delaying a refund. It’s foul. I thought they were reputable it’s absolutely foul.
Did you get your money back
My dad got a regular gold ring from a jeweler I buy gold and silver from he charged him 800 I just bought a 1 karat diamond ring 10k gold for 1200 from Zales come on now. And they have the ring I bought for 1800 online hince with a 45% off on it where the original price was almost 3k and I got it for 1200
Been there, done that.
Not all Kay's are like that! Everything has a big mark up, car loses $1000.00 the moment you drive off lot, Contacts lens cost 1.50 to make, the are about $150.00 for 3 pair,,
Yeah, but Kay Jewelers is the poster child for being crooked liars and pathetically greedy pieces of crap.
10,000.00 dollars went it drives off the lot
Can I see some of zales bracelet
I can guarantee she is absolutely 100% right to avoid Kay jewelers. I bought my wife a tennis bracelet that they said was worth $1400. I had it appraised and it only appraised for $600. The appraisal value is for replacement, so there's no way I could walk back into Kay jewelers if my wife's bracelet was missing with $600 and repurchase that bracelet because they rip off their customers out of sheer greed.
I would take an appraiser with you to make sure that what you're getting from Kay jewelers is actually what you're getting and you're not overpaying.
Facts ... I bought an engagement ring worth $2500 had it appraised and was told it's worth $60 . I went and return it .
So corporate mall jewelry stores are a no go. Any alternatives or suggestions?
I recommend visiting your local, independent jewelry store. Every business is unique of course, but as a whole, the independent jewelry industry is more focused on the quality of goods, transparency and education, and fair pricing. Think about what you're looking for in a jewelry seller; collector's pieces or low-cost goods, natural stones or lab-created, diamonds or colored stones -- and then find a local jeweler (by looking at Google reviews and IG feed, calling and asking questions) that specializes in your specific needs. Your favorite jewelry brands or vendors may even be able to make recommendations for a store in your area -- or you can even shop online with e-commerce stores such as The Rutile, Manor Jewels, Walton's Antique and Estate Jewelry, and other reputable e-tailers.
Try James Allen. Their website shows the diamond up to 20x magnification.
@@dayangmarikit6860James Allen is owned by the people that own zales and Kay’s lol
Definitely want to attend the GIA💎
2 weeks ago I spent 2200 on a 24” Cuban link 10k gold chain. I thought it was a good investment just in case I ever needed fast money I could go sell it for $750-1000 in a pinch and bought it on credit so didn’t really think much about it. Finally I was like well let me go get it appraised and turns out it wasn’t even worth $300 at a cash for gold spot. Luckily you have 30 days to return it and was able to return the chain but ya what a rip off that place is.
Could I still buy a name brand ring from a Kay’s like a Le Vian ring?
I do. Love LeVian. Have no problems. Also LEO beautiful.
Kay's ripped me off sold me a very bad diamond engagement ring.frist time buying a engagement.i went back six months for expected it and the guy blew it up and I saw all of lines they look like it was cranking.and so I told the new manager and explained that the girl said the ring was a good diamond ring.and so he looked at the ring and said omg this ring is the worse I ever saw.so I was able to trade it in for another ring but I lost 800 dollars 💵 and so my fiance said.ok but as my fiance was making payments every month we noticed that the remaining balance was the same.i was like how is this when my fiance will pay more every months . anyway I decided to no longer pay. Yes it ruined my fiance credit but we both was getting tired of getting ripped off and also getting mistreated by the worker's in there.also call corporate office so many time.i was just done.i will not purchase anything from these 🔗 chains store again
So sorry you had that experience! Unfortunately, I’ve heard other stories like yours…it’s terrible! I hope this doesn’t discourage you from shopping for jewelry now. Kay may be unethical - but small, independent jewelry stores tend to be kind, fair and trustworthy.
wheres this full interview?
Hi there! It’s taking a little longer than expected to edit, so it’s not online yet. But we’re hoping to share very soon! :)
One more thing. At the beginning of December. I paid off my kay jeweler's card so I could be done with them. Paid the balance in full December 1st.
I got a bill in January. They tried to charge me interest on a 0 sum account. That's how crooked and deceitful they are.
I called the girl was supposed to send me an email. Verifying the cancelation of the account, which I never received and supposedly sent me a snail mail saying the same thing which I doubt I'll ever receive.
Its an annual fee
I bought an engagement ring for $2500 , had it appraised and was told its only worth $60 .
Hi there! I don’t have a lot of information about your situation, but it sounds like it probably has a $60 value if being sold for “scrap value” to a jeweler or pawn shop. The scrap value, the resale value, and the replacement value are different things - so you might be able to get more for the piece if it’s made with fine materials (either platinum or gold). Please note that a true appraisal is not a verbal estimate, but a document from a certified appraiser. If it is sterling silver or a patented alloy of silver (i.e. Platinaire, etc) then the initial $2,500 price was sadly terribly inflated. If so, I am so sorry you had that experience. Unfortunately, many chain stores offer silver alloy jewelry at a high price to take advantage of trusting customers. It’s despicable.
@@JewelsoftheTrade it's was rose gold .
What about zales
@@SifuFreeGamer1417then you must have been ripped off and purchased something gold filled or the appraiser is trying to pull something over because with gold being around 60$ a gram even scrap value should be higher.
@@RustyShackleford420 took it back to Kay an got my money back.
everything is way overpriced there like 5X what it is worth and the mall gets 1/3
So who do we buy from , I was bout to buy from Kay!
Find a local, independent jewelry store! If there are a lot in your area and you’re not sure how to choose, visit americangemsociety.org and type your location in under “Find a Jeweler.” Hope that helps!
Damn good thing you didn't
If you do buy from Kay, make sure you take a jewelry appraiser with you. Because if you don't, you'll find out later that you overpray paid by of a few $100. Jury jewelry evaluation is done for replacement value. And when you're paying twice what did jewelry cost then the replacement value doesn't apply.
cap 😂
Zales is a rip off. I took my bracelet to be repaired and they tried to switch it out with a cheaper one. Let’s just say I came out the winner and never went back 😂
I am so sorry you had that experience! That is terrible…
