Katherine you are an angelic princess delivering Elgar's music. Your good looks frame this masterpiece. The best of Britain! Love from western Canada....
haunting music, still best done by military band on a cold November morning. however this is done brilliantly I never knew there were words to nimrod.
There is something utterly profound and moving about this piece of music. Elgar was a musical genius.
I fully agree with your comment. Indeed, there is something profound and moving in this wonderful piece of music.
My name is David aka the real son of the lord God and you mate David Smith are a number 6 I really do think a number 6 bet it's brilliant being a number 6 out of ten x
The new Dunkirk movie got me listening to Elgar again, I watched the movie yesterday, and I love the way Katherine sings this! Can't wait to get the soundtrack to the new film, worth watching just for the music alone!
Check the Amore version sung at the Festival of Remembrance a year or two ago.
We will stand together
Even through the darkest hour
When the night seems never ending
We know there will be a dawn for us
When the world seems broken
Broken like the hearts within us
Destiny will guide us and we'll dare tio raise our eyes to heaven
God will light our way
We shall win the day
We shall win the day...
Then once again the glorious
We will emerge victorious
Until then hand in hand
We'll let history know that...
We will stand together
Even in the darkest moment
Destiny will guide us and we''ll dare to raise our eyes to heaven
History will say...
We shall win the day
We shall win the day
We will stand together...Till then.
Angelo Lupino
As an ex-pat Englishman abroad nothing else quite evokes the spirit and memory of home
Thank you, dear Katherine, for this nice and beautiful Nimrod !
All the best for you !!
Always brings a tear this was the music going into my Grandad and my Mums funerals and a much loved piece by them both ❤️
Thank you so much Wales, for Katherine such a Beautiful Girl, with such a Beautiful Voice,Thank you Edward for all your Beautiful and Wonderful Music.
The most beautiful music. And the voice of an Angel by the superb talent of Ms Jenkins
happy ten years of music Kathèrine Jenkins.
I first heard that song in the Elizabeth movie (with Cate Blanchett) and then I heard Katherine Jenkins now I can go in peace☺
The nimrod in the Elizabeth movie was definitely the best followed by this Katherine jenkins version. Rocks my world every time.
I am looking forward to listen to Katherine Jenkins New Album, congratulations on your New Album.
"I shall keep him alive to always remind myself of how close I came to danger."
Beautiful song
nice post but ,I think that fine orchestra deserve a little bit of praise too....in reality we're all nothing without each other...
Perfect as it was
Beautiful
Beautiful voice ..!!!
Thank You Timothy Lavelle! Love this.
Amazing
HERMOSA VOZ
she looks and sounds beautiful
O. M. G.!!!!!!
That is all.
Wow, this really works, a brave move turning this into a song with lyrics in Latin, but the result is wonderful :)
beautiful.
Class
Ma che bella voce, nonche la cantante!
Didn't even know this music had text
聖なるかな、聖なるかな、聖なるかな。万軍の神なる主、天と地とはその光栄に満ち溢れる。いと高き天よ、私達を救って下さい 。
Lyrics would be great, I can't find them anywhere. I can understand some, but not all, and it's not easy when the words are in another language than English.
Oh this is great! I understood some from other songs with Latin words I have heard, including a couple other songs titled "Sanctus." But all of them went off differently at some point, and those specific words from Katherine I couldn't understand.
Thank you, thank you, so much! :)
The same rite is said in the old (Oxford Movement) high Church of England. It is a fitting vocalisation for Nimrod, which has come to symbolise all the blood and suffering of at least the last two Great Wars.
Beautiful. If you are one of those that always complaint about her singing, try to sing it yourself :P
Arnaldo Ramirez Ricardo Wahahahahaha
@@liauchungren848 Is that your singing ?
Translation:
Holy, holy
Lord God of Hosts.
The heavens
and the glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes
In the name of God.
The heavens
and the glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
*holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of thy glory.
Glory be to thee, O Lord most high.
Blessed is he that commeth in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
This is song for Nimrod?
Nimrod tower of babel?
Please post English translation to the Latin text.
Liau Chung Ren
Holy, holy
Lord God of Hosts.
The heavens
and the glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes
In the name of God.
The heavens
and the glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
See above...
Couldn't understand the Latin lyrics even after reading them --- and it really doesn't matter. The vocals go with the music beautifully.
The Latin version of the Holy, Holy, Holy used in the Catholic Mass. Latin lyrics have a remarkable ability to fit to music better than ANY other language. Not sure why. I composed a song that is going to be used in a Hollywood movie. I tried putting English words to it and it was awful. I then put Latin words in and it flowed beautifully.
+David Smith You're right about Latin lyrics. They do fit well with music.
For clarity, when I said I couldn't understand the Latin lyrics, I was talking about her pronunciation in the song. Even if she'd been singing in English, I doubt that her pronunciation would have been decipherable.
Sorry. I had misunderstood what you meant. I must admit that even for Latin words they sounded as if they were being forced in somewhere they didn't really fit too well. She does have a lovely voice though.
It's the Sanctus from the Mass in Latin:
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus
Dominus Deus Sabaoth.
Pleni sunt cæli et terra gloria tua.
Hosanna in excelsis.
Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini.
Hosanna in excelsis.
Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty
Heaven and earth are full of your glory
Hosanna in the Highest
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord
Hosanna in the Highest
There are no lyrics for Nimrod
This is what I thought. Prefer the music without words, takes away the momentous feelings.
Some music doesn't need words adding. I think this detracts from there original.
🆘 1❤️16💕Ah you are beautiful my beloved
teuely lively
Our couch is green. Aa
Putting Nimrod to Latin ... Mmmm not convinced.
she ruined the song she is a good singer in her own right but that song is too good for her
John Prosser I agree ,and I think she is overrated
John Prosser right👌
Jenkins is vastly overrated with that dreadful wobble.
Nonsense.
Poor
Nope. She doesn’t do it for me. Too contrived and harsh
Sorry,I am very sorry but this is poor singing,it may impress a great number of people but it is not well sung. This is a great piece and needs a great singer.
I don't understand how you can dislike this Rene. Katherine is a great singer.
Miming, as usual and still awful.
Beautiful
Perfect as it was
