If you CANNOT get the DNS exploit to work, you can currently still use the browser exploit. Go into the Wii U internet browser and type "wiiuexploit.xyz" and hold b after pressing run exploit to get the and dumper. Also Please do not forget to change DNS settings back to auto!!

I have tiramisu currently, and I forget what it was but there was something about aroma that was missing a feature that I use in tiramisu, maybe it was playing injected wii/gc games from the wii u menu? or maybe it was that retroarch doesn't work on aroma? I have heard you can have both aroma and tiramisu installed and just swap between them as needed, just wondering what's missing in aroma that i'd need to swap back to tiramisu for.
Thank you for making such a detailed tutorial. It took me 3.5 hours to do though. I'm on Mac and while it can format to Fat32, there is no option for the partition allocation giblets. I tried with the terminal but eventually turned to my antique Windows 10 laptop. I had to use the Wii U exploit site since the DNS method wasn't working for me. I also had trouble moving the Wii U storage backup to my hard disk connected to my computer so good thing my Wii U didn't get bricked.
When I did the DNS exploit, it skipped the NAND backup screen and went straight to the Boot selector. For anyone who might have a small heart attack like me, here's the solution: I turned off my console and took out my SD card to see if it somehow backed up automatically. It didn't. So I put my card back in the console and when I booted up, all of the added apps were gone. I went to my settings, turned on auto-obtain DNS, tested the connection, and then did the browser exploit by following the guide linked in the Google doc. I'm sure the DNS exploit still works. I was probably just dumb and did something wrong. But I didn't brick my console, so that's a plus.
Yup, just happened to me! very very glad it didn't brick when I turned the system off (phew!). I turned off auto-obtain but the xyz exploit took me straight to the environment loader. for anyone else stuck : add your wifi again under a new connection, run the xyz exploit, hold B. don't unplug your WII U & don't touch your SD (in the middle of it doing something)
@@sillaysponge I think the exploit is safer than we give it credit for. For some consoles, you have to actually try in order to brick it. It’s not really something that happens on accident. It’s just scary when you’re following a UA-cam tutorial and yours doesn’t do the same thing as the video lol

Y'all are better off with just modding a Wii U, Wii, or 3DS. Switch is too risky. If there's any emulators you truly want, get them on something else you can hook up to your TV that isn't a current console.
I did this and it sent me to a bootloader screen in the part where you have to hold B, which sent me back to the wii u menu now what? i tried to hold b again but cant get the software to appear again
Update: I figured it out had to retry a couple times. Sometimes i had to hold down the x button and sometimes i had to hold down the b button to get it to boot correctly, for some reason. But the second thing was to get to the Nand screen you have to keep holding down the button past the black screen with the mug and Gary’s name. Afterwards it took me to the nand backup screen like in the video

I wanted to ask you if you plan on doing also a tutorial for other emulators on the Wii since it's capable of playing basically every game before its launch. I tried installing WiiFlow with the Carbonik theme as a emulator interface because it has animations for the game covers and I'm having trouble installing it because all I found was on forums and I didn't quite understand how to make it function properly. And since it's a discontinued theme everyone uses Rhapsodii Shima but i prefer the look of Carbonik better so yeah which one do you prefer and if you plan on making videos on how to set emulators on WiiFlow with also different themes for every liking haha. during the aroma update part, make sure your Wii U is set to the current date or else it will error. for some reason my console was set to 2014? 💀💀 simple settings fix though

I ran into a small issue after I dumped my Wii U's NAND. I was able to copy all the system backup files over to a folder on my desktop, however, mlc.bin.part15 won't copy because "the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable". Will I still be able to restore my Wii U from bricking without it or do I need to dump the NAND all over again?

I've homebrew my wii u 2 years ago, and an update blocked some games from working. My question is, where do I start since I have it modded and some of the software says to never delete it.
When i format the sd card to FAT32 to put the mods it cant be registered by the wii u. When i format the sd card through the wii u it cant be read by my laptop or my phone, what do i do?
I have two questions. 1. Will it still work now that the online service has ended? 2. If the browser does not work, is this due to service termination?
thanks still working as of 5/04/2024.. i couldn't get the payload installer to come up on homescreen doing it via doing it the browser wiiuexploit followed this step by step and it worked. this method should work after the 8th of April
say if you have followed this but want to change the se card can you take the sd card out of the wii u transfer the files from the old sd card to the new sd card and then put it back into the wiiu?

Hey there! Can you help me with something? When I get to the exploit part the screen shows the DNSpresso logo, but after 4 seconds or so my Wii U shows an error screen. I bought it jailbroken some years ago (never knew what the jailbreak software was) but it updated automatically and I lost everything, so I think it might be related to that. I keep getting no environment found when I go to boot aroma after moving files into back up file. what can I do here? also my sd card is in the right format but im on a chrome book. it doesn't allow me to see properties so I cant be sure. but when I go to format my 32 gig sd card it says fat 32?
I wonder if anyone has done a setup pack for aroma etc. Meaning a zip file with all the files you need (aroma etc. Including some of the more obscure one's) don't know if one can "pre configure" all of those mods that might need tweaking etc. And can a previously sd card simply be ziped and loaded up somewhere, just a thought;-)

probably late and maybe a fluke but mine brought me straight to aroma the first time, but the second time i didn't let go of "b" until the menu that read: "Please choose your payload" and that let me select nanddumper

I can’t get past the health and safety part. When holding X the screen just goes black and the system freezes. It still plays the Wii U menu music in the background, but won’t let me do anything. I have to reset the console and go back through the test connection step to get back into Aroma.

Oh no, I deleted the stuff on the sd card after I finished the process, thinking I wouldn't need it anymore. I did back up the nand on my pc, so still have that. But I went to add games to it and realized you still had the things from the install on the sd in the other video. My system is modded, but I have a blank sd. What should I do? Thank you!!

if you get this error, try blowing on the port or yes try and reformat the sd card

I got a really stupid question. So I have aroma installed, but I don't know how to get any more custom software on it. Specifically, i want to be able to play gamecube games on my wii u, but I don't have any way to install homebrew apps.

Followed the tutorial, but when I reached DNSpresso the first time (10:19) it put me straight at the environment loader (13:40). I'm not seeing the nand dumper option.

Tried again after buying a 32gb microsd card in case it was a space issue (I was using a 2GB previously). Still having the same problem.
Keep holding down B even after DNSpresso shows up

I have my console hacked for years but I forgot to put the Payload Loader into the Health and Safety applet.
Much, much easier than always having to open up the browser :,D
I did the dns exploit and it brought me straight to the environment loader how do I get to the nand backup?

I have a question, everytime I do the connection test part where I hold B, it takes me to the little loading screen, but then I get and error telling me to shut the console off. More specifically I get the error code: 160-2246
What do I do?

The issue was, my SD card was locked, and I am up at 12 am
I've homebrew my wii u 2 years ago, and an update blocked some games from working. My question is, where do I start since I have it modded and some of the software says to never delete it.
Start from the beginning and ignore the fact you've done this before. OR if you want, restore previous backups and THEN start over.

When I test the internet it says unable to connect to network
When i format the sd card to FAT32 to put the mods it cant be registered by the wii u. When i format the sd card through the wii u it cant be read by my laptop or my phone, what do i do?
I have two questions.
1. Will it still work now that the online service has ended?
2. If the browser does not work, is this due to service termination?
thanks still working as of 5/04/2024.. i couldn't get the payload installer to come up on homescreen doing it via doing it the browser wiiuexploit followed this step by step and it worked. this method should work after the 8th of April
Can you do an updated video on playing GameCube games on Wii u with gamepad. Not a lot of useful places to get updated Wii u modding tutorials.

say if you have followed this but want to change the se card can you take the sd card out of the wii u transfer the files from the old sd card to the new sd card and then put it back into the wiiu?

update: i just found out that somehow the wiiu cant read the sd card but my pc does even if the sd card is formatted to FAT32
Hey there! Can you help me with something? When I get to the exploit part the screen shows the DNSpresso logo, but after 4 seconds or so my Wii U shows an error screen. I bought it jailbroken some years ago (never knew what the jailbreak software was) but it updated automatically and I lost everything, so I think it might be related to that. I'd appreciate a lot if you could help me!

I keep getting no environment found when I go to boot aroma after moving files into back up file. what can I do here? also my sd card is in the right format but im on a chrome book. it doesn't allow me to see properties so I cant be sure. but when I go to format my 32 gig sd card it says fat 32?
I wonder if anyone has done a setup pack for aroma etc. Meaning a zip file with all the files you need (aroma etc. Including some of the more obscure one's) don't know if one can "pre configure" all of those mods that might need tweaking etc. And can a previously sd card simply be ziped and loaded up somewhere, just a thought;-)
Guys a quick question i didn't backup my wii u's nand 😅 before i homebrewed it can i still backup my nand after the homebrew or am i screwed
you can (and it's suggested) to back up your nand every once in a while, so you are good to go still!

I somehow accidentally skipped the Nand Backup part! Is this bad? Can in do it afterwards somehow? I got Instantly to the Aroma select and panic selected it instantly (without highlighting)
probably late and maybe a fluke but mine brought me straight to aroma the first time, but the second time i didn't let go of "b" until the menu that read: "Please choose your payload" and that let me select nanddumper

I have just 1 question, all my games keep loading in English. But for example I really wanted Wii Party U to load in Dutch.. I changed my default language in settings, but it keeps loading the game in English, how can I change this? please help..
I can’t get past the health and safety part. When holding X the screen just goes black and the system freezes.
It still plays the Wii U menu music in the background, but won’t let me do anything.
I have to reset the console and go back through the test connection step to get back into Aroma.

turned out to be a time suck for me. Used the 'official' hack guide with browser exploit, says it installed, select aroma, then it's as if I never had done the prior hours' work. Anyone want a Wii U for a good price? Cash and carry.

Oh no, I deleted the stuff on the sd card after I finished the process, thinking I wouldn't need it anymore. I did back up the nand on my pc, so still have that. But I went to add games to it and realized you still had the things from the install on the sd in the other video. My system is modded, but I have a blank sd. What should I do? Thank you!!
I already did Tiramisu but haven't looked into aroma would i be alright to follow the tutorial?
