- Created by Toby Finlayson and Joel Westlake from Desert Pea Media for the 'Bangamalahna Binnadang' Exhibition in Manila, The Philippines on July 4th 2012.
This exhibition was a culmination of a 6 year cultural exchange project between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous artists from The Philippines and The Wiradjuri Country, Australia - directed, facilitated and partially funded, by artist Sean James Cassidy.
The song features Wiradjuri artists and other Indigenous Australians residing in the Wiradjuri Nation of Central West NSW; Scott 'Sauce' Towney on acoustic guitar, Lindsay Kirby on bass guitar, Roy Peterson and Lola Black on lead vocals, and PJ McNeill on backup vocals.
'Voices' also features lyrics created as part of a Desert Pea Media hip hop mentoring project with young people at Parkes Public School/ Parkes Wiradjuri Language Group and Red Bend College in Forbes.
The project was funded by Graincorp Limited and supported by The Ub Ubbo Project, Parkes Rotary and Parkes Shire Council.
Also thanks to John Pizzaro for his support, and belief in us, to the boys at The Dusty Yellow Sunbeams farm, and Dustin Howearth the legendary props department.
