    Awesome content here. I also have a T5810 with the Xeon E5-1620 v3 @ 3.50GHz - I am looking to upgrade this. I received this tower for free from a neighboring sales rep as he used it for a demo and had no further need for it. Back then, I didn't realize that there were v3 and v4 CPUs for this board, and with that, I didn't realize that it could handle DDR4-2133 or 2400... and this is where my question begins. Long before I know any of this, I started upgrading the currently installed 2133 RAM up to 32GB. Now that I want to upgrade the CPU, am I stuck with using a v3 or can I upgrade to a v4? Is there any one recommended CPU given this instance. Side note, I plan on bumping the power supply up to the 850w as I have a installed a GTX 1660 Super Overclocked 6GB card a little while ago. This tower is getting on the older side now, but I want to keep her alive and well as long as I can. Thanks in advance.

    Excellent video. I have a T5810 running a Xeon E5-1603 v3 @2.80 Ghz with 128bg RAM. I am using it as a music server hosting sample libraries in Vienna Ensemble Pro. My CPU is maxing out and I am thinking of upgrading based on your video. I am considering the Xeon E5-2687W V4 SR2NA 12-Core 3.0GHz. That would be a good choice, don't you think? Also, I have a 425w power supply and it sounds like that needs to be upgraded as well.

    • @GreenPCGamerscom
      @GreenPCGamerscom  Рік тому

      That would be a nice upgrade. Yes, you should also upgrade the power supply, and also consider the noctua aftermarket heatsink install if you upgrade to the E5-2687W V4 Processor.

    Great vid! Mine starts becoming slow running on E5-1620 v4 with 32GB ram (4x8), Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 250 (half full), NVidia Quadro P200. Any tips on how to bring it up to date with CPU upgrade and more would be appreciated. I am hoping with an upgrade I can increase performance on WIN 11 without having to buy a new PC for a few more years. I do not game but I use it 24/7 for studying/multitasking with 2-3 monitors attached. Thank you

      You should look at getting one of the CPU’s with more cores, as well as installing the aftermarket noctua heatsink for better cooling.
      The E5-2687W V3 or V4 would be a nice fit.
