    Thanks for this, have a t5810 lying around but the stock cooler fan started making a lot of noise and was worried I wouldn't be able to find a decent replacement. This video popped up first on a google search, now off to amazon for some parts!

    Thank you kindly for this guide. Just finished my install and testing and what an amazing upgrade. I’m using a E5-1650 V4 and this cooler just dropped me from 80 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees on Elden Ring. It’s absolutely silent as well.

    Did this install on my T3610... the improvement was ~25C cooler at CPU idle and at full CPU load. Now the front chassis fans don't run full blast when the CPU ramps up and things are much quieter. Entire procedure took me about 2 hours, but I was being very careful with cable management so your mileage may vary. Overall this is money well spent IMO. Thanks for the great how-to video on this.

    Also beware of BIOS fan speed is apparently 0 speed at default & you will have to babysit it a little if you use it as a gaming or similar high workload rig. I got a refurbed T5810 "gaming rig" not so long ago & suddenly i start getting heavy throttling in games? While searching for answers i suddenly remember that i update the BIOS about a week ago & i check powermanagement settings and minimum fan speed is set to ZERO on auto. Donno what the setting was before but they clearly wasnt on "low" or "auto with Zero". So i crank it up to a 10% & cpu drops to a nice 65C while gaming & the throttling goes away. I crank it up to 15% to be sure & gets a nice 60C with "heavy cpu" 1080P gaming. The "auto" setting is supposed to ramp up not just the cpu fan but also the case fans if i understand it correctly, something about the motherboard not having temp sensors like many other motherboards have so the whole thing appear to be tied to the cpu (i think). Definately good to know when summer times comes that you can ramp up fan speed yourself & get a better case flow.

    Dell T7910 spacing between the two heatsinks, CPU 1 is hotter than before.
    My question is: will installing a heatsink from Noctua prevent this problem and keep my CPU 2 cool without affecting CPU 1? And how much space does it occupy? The one I bought from China 14 centimetres large

      If you have the HP 749554-001 I think that is a really good cooler (I use it all over the place..external builds, on an ASUS X99 Extreme 6, Lenovo P520.. though the Lenovo side panel won't close.) Make sure the paste is fresh or at least not dried up. One trick people do is remove the black shroud from the Z440 and attach the fan with zip ties (I don't). I have also thought about doing dual fans with the black shroud removed, but I haven't yet. I overclock my Z440(e5-1680 v3) and my T5810(e5-1660 v3) to 4.2GHz. In R23 (10 min) the Z440 doesn't get much above 60F while the T5810 goes up to 70F. Neither system stays at 4.2 ghz. Both drop down to around 3.8-3.9 GHz and have very similar R23 scores. I am running both systems open case and the Dell without the RAM covers.

      @bobsonuk 2 місяці тому

      @@augold1681 Yeah, I've also seen the remove the shroud / zip tie modification to the stock cooler.
      In the end I picked up a used UH-U9S Chromax Black off eBay.
      The black of the cooler / fan with the green rubber anitvibration mounts, I think goes well with the black & green colour scheme of the Z440.

    Is there any real reason to be upgrading the cpu cooler if it doesn’t affect frames? Based on your test it did run 10-15 deg cooler but it didn’t seem to gain any performance increase? It’s not like you can overclock it right? Can someone explain the benefits of this to me because I have a T5810 and wanna know if it’s worth. Cheers!

    • @GreenPCGamerscom

      No, the noctua heatsink and fans do a much better job than the stock heatsink of sending the warm air right out of the back of the chassis. That also stops the front fans from running high under heavy cpu load.
