    Swamp N Stomp is a channel or vlog, whatever you want to call it, dedicated to helping the hunting community grow, specifically in Florida. Studies show that the majority of modern hunters had family members who raised them as hunters, and a large portion of non-hunters want to hunt but don't know where to start. By documenting our hunting adventures, making instructional or tutorial videos, and really anything-hunting-related videos, we hope to help bridge that gap by providing practical information for beginner and experienced hunters on how to become a better and more ethical hunter. Great video, guys. What duck species call would you recommend. I'm a newbie at this here in south Florida.

      I would recommend you don’t call at all. By the time the birds make it to Florida they have been messed with a lot so calls often will flare them. The only calls that will do you any good are buck belly whistling duck calls and wigeon calls but they equip very specific situations. Shannon Kelly is a local call builder, his are the best.

      I run an elite duck call model is edge
      You can read the body of them in flight. Birds are still workable cause I’ve had a lot of luck getting them to get them to comit into the decoys. And limited out the last 3 times I was in the sta south of the O. If you can’t call start off with a double reed more forgiving but will still need to practice before going out and blowing.

    Great Video, haven't duck hunted since leaving NC in 1999. I drew STA 1 west mid month. Can you recommend which cell to pick or the cells you like in order? Really appreciate these videos. VERY helpful to an old born again hunter.

      Is it a morning or afternoon hunt? Saturday or Sunday? The STAs change constantly, hard to say where to go.

    Great video. Chara is not a plant, it's algae. It does certainly resemble aquatic plants though. Either way still great video.

    Great videos guys .. always watching your videos .. one question .. I have never hunted at the STA .. although I live close by ..one question, how deep the water is !! ? ......because most of the video I see I noticed people always walking around .. what about the alligators ?.. too many to take a dog ? .. i will appreciate your input .. thanks

    • @SwampNStomp
      @SwampNStomp  3 роки тому

      Ray thanks for watching. Water depth really depends on the sta. For example 3/4 you can walk into most places that aren’t surrounded by a canal. 1W has a canal around every cel. Feb is basically a lake most of the time with some shallow areas. Some ppl do bring dogs out but gators are always around so you must use ur best judgment. If you find the right spot you can walk easily. -Danny

      @@SwampNStomp Thanks bro .. I wish I can take my dog but dogs are just sugar candies for gators !!! .. the last time I took my dog with me ...he could not hold it and jumped into the water for a downed duck !! ..i almost got killed with my own gun when my wife found out !!!... she has these informants called " my friends " !!! ... thanks again and happy hunt .

    • @SwampNStomp
      @SwampNStomp  4 роки тому +1

      Lots! But they generally stay in the canals, and you will very rarely see them in the marsh. Check out the video we posted up a few weeks ago of our gator hunt in the STAs!

      Early season yes. Late season you can survive in them.
