A uniform which you can get into a lot of trouble if you don't iron it.
I much prefer something like that than the "blue camouflage" that some navies seem to wear. Thank goodness that the Royal Navy didn't go down that route.
Wouldn't take much to just make it better with branch badges... its not bloody hard, or expensive.

@@richardsawyer5428 Honestly I'm gutted by it. I'm coming close to the end of Phase 2 training to be an MA and was looking forward to earning my badge, with this it almost feels like a milestone has been taken away.

A lot of people have pride in branch badges, removing them is misguided. There is no realistic reason to not include them in this uniform, they signify branch specialisations and qualifications within that. This aspect of the uniform is a shocking idea and I know a huge amount of serving personnel feel the same.

@@Peoples_Republic_of_Devonshire Your right It does matter. The medical branch has almost 400 years of history and that badge is iconic. It was used to great PR effect in disaster relief and during the recent COVID Vaccination clinics. Had I been the MA in this video I would have refused to do it. Everyone's branch identity is important..

I've been skating this rig for months but it genuinely doesn't look to bad. Removing branch badges didn't make any sense tho

Ok so removing the middle pockets and branch badges, whats the point of that. I seen these up close and they look more scruffy and how do you know what department someone is in without a branch badge, So pointless.
Looks so much better now, especially compared to those old blue tops. Finally the MOD doing something right for a change.
Except the lack of branch badges... crap idea.
And velcro name tags they will come off easily not to mention pocket's gone in the top.
@@reubenjackson7829 they may come off easy but they look really tacky, you only take them off ones or less a year when you get new rig it was never a big deal

Having to look after kit that was civvy, based the SAs used to give me the keys to the main naval store and tell me to fcuk off as I'd have to spend far too long rummaging through those drawers to find comparable parts :-)
I'm looking for some advice
Knowing that military equipment is sometimes not all that it could be and that some equipment it is permittable to wear an alternative purchased privately.
All the guys in one of my units wore Altberg Boots for example
My neice is going into the navy soon and intends to be a submariner and if I can I want to help her out
once she starts serving on board submarines what do the crw wear on their feet, if there's a difference what footwear do female submariners wear when aboard is the issue stuff any good if permitted or do individuals buy their own?
Help / advice would be gratefully appreciated

almost as bad as the woke american military recruitment videos that were in the news a while ago. This concept of forced diversity and forced political correctness makes me sick.
This doesn't feel too forced compared to that American one. In this one the focus is just the uniform. Though I agree forced diversity is bad, treat all races the same. If they're competent, let them on.

I joined in 1969 . Our working dress , no 8‘s were so Ill fitting you always looked like a “ scran bag” quality was poor too, glad things have improved.

started watching this video but within seconds it was obvious it was woke, like for instance why does it have to be a black person as the first person on, nothing against black people I've got black friends but I don't like this " in your face " wokeness, so I stopped watching it halfway through.

@@L0rd_Ju66y Thank you for your concern it is very much appreciated you've no idea how extremely traumatic it was, a lesser man would have probably buckled but I came through it ok with a little counselling from my local outreach diversity bullying councillor.
