WATCH out 4 pinched tank venting tubes. Pressure build up can launch fuel when opening tank filler cap. I had the KTM 1290 adventure and have seen it happen. Otherwise, relaxing assembly, great with a cuppa 👍
I have had a Scottoiler X-system fitted to my 500X for about 18 months. It’s been great. Been being the important word as I’ve just been down to the Pyrenees for a week and on the second day I noticed it wasn’t working and it’s been dead ever since. The battery connections are OK as is the fuse, it just won’t switch on. It looks like the future is a spray can.
Green! KTM 1290 SAS. Aside from commuting, I'll be riding some of the amazing roads in the north-eastern USA - the Adirondacks, Poconos, and the Delaware Water Gap!
Great video. Andy finally going on my trip from New Jersey to North Carolina tail of the dragon on May 14th. This trip was planned before but threw my neck. So hopefully 2nd times a charm. Taking the Appalachian mountains all the way down 1,100 miles down. Hanging down there 4 days getting as much riding in as I can. Taking 4 days down returning threw the mountains home. I'd like to think I've learned alot Watching your journies.
Green is the colour of the oil. The kit would for my Ktm 1290 super adventure. It will be used for travelling around the uk and a possible trip to Austria. Thanks for the video and looking forward to seeing some more of the new bike 👍
I’d suggest keeping an eye on the oil at that side as the heat from the rear cylinder is quite high. I had to mount my Tutoro reservoir on the RHS as the heat made the oil too thin when mounted there
The sticky pads attached to the swingarm will come off eventually, because the swingarm gets hot due to the rear exhaust. You may want to consider some foil round the back of the unit to protect it from the exhaust.
The Scottoil All Climateöl is green, like nature, a very good evolution. The vSystem would be a nice system for my son's MT125. I love your Norway movie, after that I bought the Insta360 X3 :)
Green is the oil color and it should most definately go to my Tiger 900 gt pro to stop my worry about chain oiling forever. Been watching your videos for years and love them. Thanks for all of your work 😊
Green, or turquoise when mixed apparently... Would go on a Honda VFR800. I have looked at such systems before but always heard the "not enough comes out - whole wheel is splashed with oil" results. This seems to have been solved, so would be a nice way of keeping the chain lubed instead of the toothbrush hassle I do now!
Grun. 500x. La belle France. Clever bit of kit. Always find the hardest bit where to site an oiler reservoir where her ladyship won't kick it.. Good instructions Andy. Safe, happy travels 👍
Green and it will be fitted to a KTM 1290GT. I'll be doing a trip from Blighty all the way down to Austria and then across to Italy, back up through France and across the Chunnel with a bunch of BMW GS's at the beginning of June and we all know how GS riders think they are the best because they don't have a dirty chain. I really don't want to become a GS rider, save me, my biking future lies in your hands (and I really like my KTM). 😱Also I've just fitted a new chain and sprockets.
After a ton of research...green should be the correct answer 😂 I'll install it on my Yamaha MT-09 Tracer. I'm looking forward to watch the rest of your Norway trip videos and the Canary trip with the Ducati Desert X.👍
Hey Andy! The oil is ofc as green as a freshly mown lawn ☘ In case I am the lucky one to win it, it will go on a KTM 790 Duke. Only question remaining is: What will last longer, the KTM or the then perfectly oiled aftermarket DID ZVM-X chain I fitted last year? 😅 Safe travels!
Hi Andy. Green is the colour of the oil in the lovely Scottoiler vSystem, Loved the Norway tour - thanks for the incredible scenery and planting that lovely seed of "need to add that to the tour list as well" 😄
Seems like an enormous amount of faff for a problem that doesn't really exist? A quick application of dry PTFE spray every month/1000miles. Have chain and sprockets changed each major 18k service anyway.
The oil is green like Kermit. And I need to fit an oiler on my Varadero desperately. Despite coating my chain almost weekly over this last winter it has lasted only one year. You can't get too much lube on it, that's what she said. New chain from superbikeshop sat here at the side of me but as always it's persisting down again today. I only need to say the word toolbox and the heavens open. And where am I going on it? Around as much of the U.K as my ample cheeks allow me.
Hi Andy, just a guess but I think the hulk spunk (oil) is green. I would fit the kit to a triumph speed triple 1050 rs for my uk tours (nc500, Isle of man trips, Scotland trips)
Snotty green! I ran an eSystem for years. Not sure what the air tenp does on the latest ones as surely a pump of a fixed amount is a pump of a fixed amount regardless of the temperature. I do prefer my Xsystem for ease of use and installation.
Green oil might be a good colour mix with my black Triumph Tiger 800. And for my 5000 km Tour in Juli/August it would be a perfect little helper! Thanks for your awesome work!
@@AndyManCam Oh, I'm in the area 51. That's where the Aliens are living. And they definitly need Green oil! That's a sign, isn't it? 😂 Have a nice one despite all the work!
All looking very adventury (adventurish?) Andy. The KTM I'm scoping out at the mo (I blame you...) already has one of the things - what have I been missing in the last 50 years of rusty chains? 😀
Yeah, i heard that too, but apparently the grip they give in that 7000km is astounding. I thought better to have the best performance possible to last my whole trip than compromise for the sake of longer mileage. TBH I’ll likely not get the chance to go off road for a while after the next adventure so I’ll probably want to switch to more road oriented rubber as soon as i get back. Also the AX41 were considerably cheaper than everything else, except only the Mitas. And their road performance seems to be less than stellar.
Great video as always Andy. I need a couple of those garage elves to help me fit the scottoiler to my 1190 Adventure and top it up with green oil for my trip to the Dolomites in July
Green would be the answer you're looking for. Would go on my new GSX-S 1000GT+ so I don't have to worry about the chain on my many upcoming West Coast of N. America tours.

Green. It’ll be fitted to my KTM 390 Adventure. Certainly help keep the chain lubed while I rack up the miles in the beautiful Welsh countryside. Boyo. 👍🏼
Hi Andy, Another cool video. I've often wondered why the oil isn't directed to the front sprocket which would be easier. I suppose there must be a reason.
Thanks! I would surmise that it has something to do with the front sprocket spinning so much faster and therefore the oil will fling off almost instantly due to the increased centripetal force. Plus a more complicated installation on many bikes because of needing to remove the Sprocket cover. On my old Honda i had to remove the whole gear linkage to get to the front sprocket!
@@AndyManCam Wow did you? I get the speed of the spocket might fling it off, I never thought of that. When ever I've fitted a scott oiler they never seemed to hit the chain or the sacrificial tube at the end used to fly off so I always carried a tin of lube too. When are we seeing vids of you riding the thing?
Soon, I promise! A full week in Norway, trying some off road and, of course, loads of twisties! Just need to catch up with my backlog, but the sprained ankle has given me plenty of time to get a bunch done!
The oil is green and if won would be fitted to my newly purchased 22 KTM Super Adventure s which has already done a couple of trips from 🇮🇲 back to South Wales to visit family. Looking to trips further afield which this prize would help 🤞
I've a bit of a downer on Scottoiler at the moment, Andy. I fitted the 'E' system to my Honda a little over 3 years ago and last week the pump failed. The cost of the pump/reservoir unit alone is more than that of a complete new Tutoro system so it will be Tutoro for me. Three years (9878 miles of riding) is not good for an item that costs over £250 new.
That is a real shame, i would also expect a bit more life. Hopefully it’s not a regular occurrence for everyone and i guess the hope is that if anything goes wrong, it happens within the 2 year warranty! I find it’s often worth dropping a line to the company in question as some of them are pretty understanding about these things. I’ve had the odd product replaced long after the warranty period due to good customer service. It’s often in the companies interest to keep a loyal customer. Always worth a shot and costs nothing to try.
@@AndyManCam According to quite a few reviews, Andy, their customer relations leaves a bit to be desired, a bit like giving the kiss of life to a pork chop. As you say, though, no harm in trying.

Hi Andy. Green. It will go on my fantastic KTM Superduke 1290 GT. My wife is hoping to do her bike test this year, so I will be riding with her for moral support and guidance. ❤ Just had a full service including a chain and sprocket 😭. This would help it last longer. 🤞🏼
