I dont know how someone can hate you youre always so happy that makes me happy when i whatch youre videos 😁😁👍👍
they can't see others enjoying themselves
☺
They are jealous for his cars : (
(Me too)
I like his content, it's his voice that I don't like. It doesn't stop me from giving him a like though.
I know right
A true hobby grade version of the old Tyco Fast Traxx would be sweet!
or the rebound 4x4
@@AcousticNRG
Lol. Forgot all about that one. That would be sweet too!
Funny, I was thinking about both of them, too.
That's why I clicked the video
That was my first RC! Saved up my own money as a kid to buy it. Still have it in pieces lol
I bought one of these for my son. it is a beast. with some slight mods it floats like a dream. upgraded the esc and 2s 50c lipo it moves. standing backflips when the track hooks up.
"it's got a little bit of sensitivity, like some of my viewers" *points middle finger at sub button*
This is why I love this guy😂😂😂😂
Hobbygrade for me is when the product is "modular". So when all the parts are interchangeable .
Lego must be a hobbygrade overload then
i agree with you
dizzy.d rc
@@davidgutierrez8297 Sure, if Lego is a RC product.
You can get every single for this tank...so it's all interchangeable
I've forgot the word part
Make an god ESC and the 50000rpm motor in the tank 😂
hi C R...
'
dont do that...
brushless motor can destroy gearbox / rubber tracks
@@bestamerica I won't do that. Kev should do it. It doeast care hem if it brakes... But lt would be funny to see an over powered tank, It Wil do an permanent wheelie oder Chainie 😂
Yes
I agree
wouldnt do more than 2s 50c lipo. Axle bushings wont last 2 minutes on anything more. this is the second weakest link. Shock posts weak, on side landings. Transmission very strong.
2:02 Wow that finger is longer then a football field
I love
This tank is amazing I have one The only modification it needs is weight in the front That's why it has a hard time climbing over things and it stands up If you add a padlock to the front of it hanging or if you take off the cover there is space and you add weight in the front It won't lift up when it climbs things
I've been building combat robots (think Battlebots or Robot Wars) for a while now using hobby grade RC parts in small scale competitions. I also helped build a "bomb disposal robot" for my college engineering class that could effectively climb stairs at more than 50 degrees. My local hobby store has a crawler course, and I've been tempted to build a tracked robot to take it on.
Loving the daily uploads kev.
Keep up the great work.
I came across your channel around 6 months ago and I can't get enough.
I have never owned anything rc but due to your channel I will be ordering a xmaxx very soon can't wait to get out there and do some bashing
“A little bit like the haters” good job 😌
3:25
‘I’m not gona say soon but....’
2 seconds after that :
It will happen soon
We had a Tyco fast trax when we were kids. This is awesome 👌
Great video vid Kev I love what you do and you have genuinely gotten me into rc bashing and have spent a ton of money on spare parts have you any suggestions on any cars?
Kev, you get it. Ya don't have to go 30 mph to have fun and thrills. May your path be free of puddles, may the wind ALWAYS be perfectly directed thru your rear wing. Thanks mang!!!
I feel like it has a lot of potential. Maybe better tracks and weight distribution would help it shine.
I have this one for a little demolition group I have. What I did was add a few heavy washers on the inside of the front end to keep the end down. Helps a lot
Best youtuber ever. Love how you heart your fans comments and reply to some of them. Really are the best.
thanks man
You can notice that the front end is very flip friendly on the tank and is contributing to the lack of grip over the obstacles, so I suppose you can add some weight hidden away I the chassis. SPeed doesn't really matter even though it has decent power, because its basically a crawler anyway like you said kev. I always get my inspiration off you as to what to buy my nephew and nice for their rc's, your doing a great job, keep it up dude 👍 💪 👌
Seems pretty cool. I prefer the gray. A little top heavy it seems, probably do a lot better on the obstacles if you added a bit of weight at the bottom to keep the center of gravity lower. Almost reminds me of the Tyco Fast Trax from back in the day.
Lol the fastrax... the first rc car that I asked for for my birthday. I was 5.
I totally remember that one
Tyco fast traxs was the shit as a kid!
I'd say it's entry level hobby grade. I might get one myself, it looks cool.
If I were to say what it reminds me of, it would be the Bigfoot Fastrax (not spelt correctly).
As for toy / hobby grade, I would class toy grade having no replacement parts and hobby grade having replacement parts and some upgrade parts.
Keep on having fun Kevin 👍
you should make the broken one brushless! that would be nuts
It's okay, all you forgot was the letter e at the end of the word absolute.

I bought that one in white a couple months ago on the app wish for $45 and I didn't think to much of it but it did say it had a 360 brush motor so I said what the heck. I couldn't believe how awesome it's performed and looked so that much money. The one I received had two big compartments underneath one for the battery and one for the charger. It had a 7.4 4200 mAh battery and a spot 4 either another battery. The other compartment had the charging cord that was in there when I purchased it. I have since took it's apart I had to do a few minor adjustments and put a 540 motor and a S2 5000mah 2 cell battery. I had to dremel the compartment divider to accommodate the battery I also put 2 clamps to hold the battery in place and that not only made it a lot faster but the weight of the 540 and the heavy battery made the front heavier so it doesn't flip up as much over Terrain. I also glued a rubber gasket around the battery compartment to keep any water and replace the on button with a waterproof one. For $45 I ordered a custom beefier track with a lots of traction for the snow and a brighter light kit on the top in front of the doors and 2 LED lights in the front weather supposed to be. I have received the tracks and they fit perfectly and what a difference it makes on any Terrain I'm just waiting for the snow to fall. As of right now sign has to say it does around 45 to 55 mph and the run time is about 40 minutes. Seeing it so fast that you cannot put at Full Throttle from the start I was going to put a wheelie bar on it but don't know how that would look on a sport tank so it's either take it slow from the start or put a wheelie bar on it. What do you all think?
Maybe the tank needs a weight hanging on the front Kev. Ha. Job done...
My thoughts as well.
This thing is absolut cool. Sorry for my bad english. I am Austrian
Thabks for your vids they are so cool to watch
I’m from New Zealand
Your English is fine my friend....
No worries brother, your english is better than many native speakers 🤙
@@rccarfan4865 same where u from? I'm in Wellington
I agree with you
Ps subscribe to BLACK CRYSTAL
Hey human!! I can repair the one tank that's broken, it may just be an internal pcb failure...
@Clesher - what do you mean by; "I'm too" human?
@@gladosai4354 who tf u talking to lol
I've tuned mine with some 10x10mm brass sticks in the front...it's a difference like day and night. It crawls much better now
i had one like this as a kid. it was called a Fast Traxx. had a design flaw where the rear axle shaft supports would crack from jumps/rear impacts at the chassis and cause the tracks to become loose and fall off
That’s a tank...
Morgan Parrish you make me laugh
You have a firm grasp of the obvious
No kidding couldn’t tell 😒
I laughed so hard
11:13 even the haters are subscribed damnit ! 😂😂
Its toy version of the ripsaw tank
Love the videos! Love how you are yourself in them!
This dudes sense of humor is grt! Makes the vids fun.
I like to see you get that ripsaw rc sparks got. Then add some Kevin awesomeness to it, just like the Big Red Truck.
Dude I love your channel! You have me laughing my ass off with the high sensitivity remark!
Someone else reviewed this months ago an upgraded it, can’t remember the channel but really cool review after he had finished... 👍
AWSOME MACHINE
Get the metal tracks for yours see if it climbs better with them on for better traction. Seems to be more of an assault vehicle than a crawler but looks great fun 😀
Love the color I would definitely say it's steering is definitely hobby grade I believe the reason why the riptide has a problem climbing is because it's body to track treads ratio it's treads ar to light that always seems to be a problem with most RC track vehicles these days and some even in the past now with your fully realistic hobby RC tanks that's no problem thar track treads ar solid in that area but I'm hoping you might be able to solve a question that I've been trying to figure out and finally answer a unsolved mystery is Tyco RC fast Traxx from the 80s to this day still the king of speed ?
2:03 he put the finger up to the haters 😂 when he said subscribe 😂🤣😂
I saw that finger lol, for those who can’t see it just slow down the clip
Needs more front end weight, I love it though, would be great for my friend who is ankle deep into anything military related whatsoever.
Just add a bigger battery..
its an entry level hobby grade truck. Training for a more tuneable, customizeable vehicle. It looks really fun and cool to bash around in the basement or wherever.
I love this channel I recently bought my first hobby grade rc car and this channel inspired me to buy it and I love to drive it every day
Me too Kev made me do it lol i just bought a XMAXX
This is the type of content that UA-cam was made for
nice, but monstertruck SOON! haha, no rush kev😉
You should see the real life sized Ripsaw tank made by Howe and Howe tech that its modeled after , it's a seriously impressive bit of machinery. I've stood next to one and I would love to take it for a rip !
The US military is gonna have a contract with them to make a fighting Ripsaw
That it says subscribe Under the mat just like you have the one on the side of the workbench !! God bless you take care buddy thanks for all that you taught me and all of yours Viewers as well May you have a blessed 2020
Much love Kev!!! Keep up the stellar work!!!❤
you should convert it to a 3s brushless system. it'll be hobby grade and insane.
I like the little touch their with the bird haha, Low key PG 😂
I Love the Knowledge You Bring About all Types of R/C Models!!! Thank u Man!! cheers!!👍🕵️♀️🕵️♂️👽👥👈
That’s cool, and Richard Hammond Reviewed the real tank on the Grand Tour. It’s call the Ripsaw EV2
"everyone" is a strong word lmao
I would consider buying this tank because first thing it's fun, second thing is variable throttle and steering, third thing is it looks cool, fourth thing is that seems to be somewhat of a semi-hobby grade. What I mean by that is it's got the basics needed for a hobby grade but they just didn't perfect these basics if you get what I mean
This was neat. I wonder if you can get little TPU sticky tape pieces and improve the traction on the tracks
2:04 he's flipping off the haters! HAHA :D
2:00 had me on the floor laughing
a bird of the hand because you wish you could kick the two in the bush.
Lol I loved the bird pointer finger 😂
I don’t understand...
That was the first episode I've ever watched on your channel and it was a lot of fun so I subscribed!
Glad I happened to stop at this, I think this Ripsaw Tank is going this old man smile again Thank you Kevin.
Hi kev i have a video idea, so you made a crawler do 40mph+ so why dont you turn a basher into a crawler.
or a drifter into a crawler since it has a narrower wheel base
a traxxas summit is fuckin perfect for this idea
Question Kev, how come you haven’t tried any Redcat Racing RC’s? They are cheap compared to other name brands and have great parts availability in my opinion!
Probably not easy to get outside the US. I know I rarely see them in Aus.
I’d recommend trying to find some aftermarket tracks with better grip.
I’m a little(lot) late to the “party” but I’d put some tiny “ice studs(screws)” in the tracks to get better traction🤷♂️
Bangood has been the link to most of your rc's lately.
Kev you have a great sense of humor 😉
DR. dirtbike hahhahahaha that’s a great joke you have a good sense of humor
You’ve inspired me to get into even I’ve bought a Wltoys and now I’m at a Erevo vxl and Traxxas tmaxx
This reminds me of a Tyco Fast Traxx I had as a kid, for Tyco it was insanely durable toy.
The was the most subtle middle finger ive ever seen
lol
Its £41 for those that wondered
I have one of these tanks and I hot glued strips the opposite way the tracS go and it performs perfectly in the snow
Hot glue some perpendicular beads of glue on those tracks and it would climb a lot more stuff due to the increased grip. Might flip over less since you can climb slower, beeping the nose from popping up and over so easily
Hobby grade: breaks every time you use it.
Toy grade: made to take kids abuse, typically last ages.
what? grow up and buy spare parts youll still have mor fun with a hobby grade
Because toy grade performance is garbage. Not fast/strong enough to break itself
Well you do have a point but hobby grade do go faster and they’re for an older audience
14 views and 50 likes?? UA-cam is drunk again 😂
He is not DRUNK you idiot , some people just like the video and not watch the video
@@DailyStreamerCutss I must have missed the day UA-cam became sentient and decided it would be labeled a he. Truly a glorious time to be alive🤯
It reminds me of the Tyco Fast Traxx. I might get one of these and a replacement shell of a baja toyota just so i can have another Fast Traxx truck.
Out of the box it constantly lifts the front end and looks like a boat in choppy water. I added a bit of weight up front and it fixed that problem. It doesn't really climb worth a darn, rolls easily on a side hill, is difficult to steer where you want, and the tracks have next to no traction. The interior is so small you can only fit the upper torso of a small driver in there. While it does sell for a quite reasonable price, I really got little enjoyment out of it. It looks cool on the shelf though.
Hammond would love that small ripsaw for a small man 😂
You think he'd fit? or would it be to big for him. 😂
4:40 the gray one!
I bought it for my son, works in the snow and is not too fast but is able to get over most obstacles
Such an interesting channel kev. Loads of content man. Keep it up
5:18 that is a huge cat. Can I have it as giveaway gift?
Yeah sure 🤦♂️
So kev seen as the first one didn't work how about you covert it to something mental ???? 4s brushless would be cool 😁😁😁😁
That tracked vehicle would be a much better climber / crawler if you incresed it's weight low down inside it's chassis and maybe gave it a little l,ore power ?? As for what I would class it as, I would say it's a semi-toy grade with potential to be upgraded to hobby grade...Thanks for another ace vid Kev! You the man!! Wes, Liverpool UK.
Probably some weight up front and some tracks with “teeth” rather than flat
More weight up front alone would go a long ways.
Ohhhh it's got high sensitivity...Nooo way!!! ... @1:98 - @2:05 Absolutely perfect Kev.... Subscribe finger was ON Point!!
Does it come in two boxes?
Screw the haters mate... It's the current day and age....
I completely hate this thing. Toy grade garbage.
Please Kevin, don't go down this path....
We need More X-Maxx and 8S Kraton action!!!!
lol! I'm not going toy grade but the odd one here and there will appear
To everyone out there... Please be safe and stay home. We will defeat corona virus
Hopefully this year. I'm bored at this point
How can anyone hate on guy that puts gopro on rc tank? Makes no sense at all. Great stuff. Love it!!!
I’d say that it’s a mix of both but slightly more of a hobby grade.I’d say it is said to be a crawler but I believe it’s more of like a sand basher or an off road basher or like a snow basher and stuff like that
"dirt cheap" lol
55 bucks us. Is dirt cheap how much cheaper do you want it?
40 quid is cheap
High sensitivity haters lmao
WTF
Add some weights in front of the tank to have a better grip when crawling objects in slow speed. That might work.
Hobby grade for me is when the electronics are modulars, separate RC, ESC, motor etc.
_"He's right. All the haters have already subscribed."_ 😂▶️
Modify the tanks tracks by adding flaps..or even small screws protuding through. and then it will be a grip moster. The front and rear guide wheels protruding edge stop it getting grip.
The first one you got was that the controllers pin cable came off making the throttle for it not work
Loving your videos mate! Have got me back into the R/C game!
That "subscribe" after talking about the haters though. 😂 Well done, mate!
you should get a RC car
Those treads have no bite at all, they're like the drag slick equivalent of a track. Definitely would perform better with studded tracks
Honestly, Kev dont rush the monster truck, I think the RC content is the best.
Do u think the motor and esc in that thing could handle a bigger lipo battery?? There seams to be room for 1 in the battery compartment.
Id love 2 see what proformance u would get out of it with a bigger battery, and maybe some added weight to help with the grip
Kev your AWESOME!!! Just one question, I live in Texas USA, and Banggood won’t ship to the US. Do you know how I can get the products you review? Thanks again!! Love your videos (:
I don't understand how you can not like this guy. He is awesome!
With some weights in the front and grippier treads (both which can be done with some creativity), this could be even more fun.
Love the videos like I always say your just a hoot to watch ... and always have exciting content .... the problem with the ripsaw even the full size ripsaw is the step angle of the rear track setup its always doing a wheelie under load if it was more flat it wouldn't always wanna do a wheelie that bieng said I hVe dreamed about having a real ripsaw since I seen the brothers who invented it testing it in the sand pit behind my house like 15 or more years ago
