Gavin this is the type of work that seems to put you in your best element. We’ve watched you for years now, and the images you captured like this from Vancouver Island, along with the constant comedy, have made for hours worth of entertainment and great instruction. I hope you can sense this while on location and during editing. Great work sir, we appreciate you and Amanda so much!
Pickles for breakfast? That’s a sure sign of things to come! Is so you can say goodbye to landscape photography for a few years though, being condemned to the nether world of cute baby photography!
Never get tired of waterfalls, especially how you seem to capture them in their full glory. Great humour as always, which makes for a fantastic combination with the excellent camera work. Another belter Gavin and Amanda 👌
Gavin deserves something from us viewers. We take it for granted that he makes this authentic and amazing content for us, but for him it’s a living. Let’s all say thank you by buying some of his great products. His book is really a joy! And his courses are truly helpful. Let’s do this!
If the last words I ever hear are “ here’s the shot” I know that the last thing I will see if is a stunning image. Another brilliant video both, thank you for sharing
Honestly I never get tired of waterfalls, especially when l see the interesting foreground elements that you have incorporated into your photos Gavin. Great video!
You two are very funny together, but I have to admit the Hasselblad X2d 100 creates such dynamic shots, great composition and the use of a slow shutter.
By far my favourite UA-cam photography channel, you guys are hilarious! The pickles and chomps song was comedy genius :) Oh and your photos are astounding.
Absolute banger of a final shot, Gavin! Wonderful video as always, too. Never watched another photography channel that can induce full on belly laughs like you and Amanda. Thank you!
I look forward to seeing your videos more than any other on UA-cam. Love your sense of humor, the back and forth with Amanda and of course the stunning images you have captured. Thanks for brightening up my day each week!
Great, thanks Gavin (and Amanda) - even more entertaining than usual. Laugh-out-loud funny, which is embarrassing when I'm sat in the Pub with my headphones on ! Great locations and photographs: are you going to be able to resist placing your order for the Hassy, even without video ?? Surely get one up on Mr Grumpy.
I think you've chased some awe and found it in that last image. Additionally, thanks, Gavin (and Amanda) for all you do, such a high level of enjoyable and educational content… except for what you sweat into the socks, that can just go to a toxic waste dump.
That was one of the first places I ever took a camera. I was a beginner so my photos suck but since then moved to Alaska. it's crazy how many waterfalls they have!
What's up Gavin? Outside of you being too silly for UA-cam; Your work is fantastic. I really think you have a really good eye for color and how to bring it out in a shot. Great work Gavin. As always, really funny stuff. Peace to you and your wife, and God Bless!kk
Thanks for another great video Gavin. Although your compositions are always rock solid, while watching this video I wondered if you weren't perhaps being a bit overprotective with the waterfall highlights during your editing? The tree roots in the foreground of one of those photos actually had some parts looking brighter than the waterfall? The comp was great and the photo did look amazing, but my brain wasn't able to accept what I was looking at.
Wow Gavin, That last picture just blew me away. That is saying something because they were all fantastic waterfall shots. Hope Amanda got back in the truck with you.
This evening saw 2 of my grandsons go home after a 4 day stay, and I was not only feeling knackered but also low on any sort of enthusiasm for YT photography videos.. but I'm so glad I made myself watch this episode cause it cheered me up no end, in fact I was engulfed with belly laughs watching you sniffing your socks and boots, bloody hilarious (I am easily pleased ha) fabulous vid as usual Gavin and that last image was stunning!
Massive Megapixles and beautiful images. The best camera is only so good as the photographer behind it. Great images, Gavin. Shoot with stunning cameras. The last shoot is absolutely beautiful.
Love the pano at 18:12. I grew up just a few miles from Ricketts, and it’s definitely a stunning spot to shoot, even more so in the fall. It’s a great spot to go back time and time again to always see the trail in a new way. Glad you got to enjoy it on a quiet rainy day!
Wonderful - thank you both! My favourite locations are forests, and waterfalls are the icing on the cake. Never apologize for taking us along to waterfalls with you. These locations are so beautiful and the images you created are awesome.
Your pickle breakfast is perfect!! Fantastic waterfalls...and thank you for talking us through your shots...I love that. Also, you went the extra mile today and I am appreciative of you efforts. I won't mention the first official stripping in the woods, scene. EPIC 😊
One of your absolute best, Gavin. Beautiful location, beautiful pictures and beautiful Amanda keeping up the banter. Reminds me so much of 31 years ago when my wife and I were your age and we backpacked my Linhoff 4x5 view camera all over the Smoky Mountain NP photographing waterfalls. She carried the food and water and umbrella. I carried about 35 pounds of gear. The umbrella was for the camera of course, not for us, and there was seldom a day that we didn't need it. Anyway, looks like you and Amanda really had a fun trip until those green fumes started rolling out of your boot tops. Oh, BTW, if you come back to this location for the fall colors don't be surprised if that stream has slowed to a trickle in the dry season.
That tip about just renting the camera equipment is very intriguing! Never thought of that. I’m loving your LE shots, stunning. And the shots of the tree roots, outstanding👍 Haha very catchy tune to accompany the pickle breakfast🤣 omg that last shot was the icing on the cake for sure, congratulations 👏👏
Love your waterfalls! Keep em coming!I can't believe you were so close to where I live. Ricketts Glen is 2 hours away, and an absolute favorite in spring and fall. You definitely need to return in the fall-and do the whole trail, if you weren't able to get through it this time. Even with no injuries, the trail is a huge challenge. And Adam's Falls is my favorite, too. Safe travels back home!
Gavin, this video was worth watching twice just to see those images again. I have often said a picture is worth a 1,000 words but it does not convay the sounds, the smells and the feel of the air.
Some stunning image there mate, I for one will not get sick of the waterfall images, think I need to get back down Fundy park for some waterfall photography. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! Beautiful pictures, especially the last one ! I like waterfalls and I am so happy that you share this with us. Your compositions are always mind-blowing!
Great job Mr. Hardcastle! Regarding the last image, I took several weeks ago after a heavy rain, the water flowed over the v shaped foreground rock like a veil. But, my image did not have the glorious light rays, but love the look! Well done Sir!
This is my opinion but if you really want the best neutral true to life colors out of the GFX then I would recommend using PRO NEG STD. It is a little flatter and you can always add contrast back in easily. But it is also not nearly as magenta as Provia/Standard is. Provia tends to lean on the warm side. Another great neutral film sim is Eterna. Those are my 2 go to films if I don't want something crazy looking. That is why I actually like my fujifilm so much. You can really get some creative fun shots with the film sims. But I remember you talking about how you liked the greens in the Hasselblad... Well I would give those two film sims a chance since you will get better greens when you take out the magenta:) Just my lonely opinion:)
I've been following you for quite sometime now and no matter how many waterfalls you do I'll always love it. Your interpretation and composition skills are on top. Love the gear but I'm sure that with your Sony or any other camera you'd be able to do wonders. I'm a sucker for waterfalls as well and I'm planing a visit to the north of my country (Portugal) to shoot some. Love the way you present us your content and your wife is a must on that. See you on your next video. Até à próxima!
Great shots! It was very educational to see what you did with Ricketts Glenn. I've shot there twice and didn't come close to getting the compositions that you did. I can't wait to get back there in the fall, to experience the fall colors and view things from a different perspective. BTW, my first time there I missed the turn to circle back to the lot where I parked and walked out to 118. Imagine my surprise when I realized I went about 2 miles in the wrong direction. Duh.
Welcome to Pennsylvania Gavin!! (A little late) I discovered your channel while you were shooting waterfalls it would feel wrong to scold a waterfall video. Have a great trip!
A joy to know you came down here to Sullivan County! Would welcome the opportunity to show you around the many other natural wonders there, and in Lycoming County right next door. Perhaps a trip to Angel Falls?
One of my favorite locations. I live about 3 hours away. There are so many amazing falls in PA. The last fall/shot - I was wondering if you knew about Adam's Fall. Very nice indeed!
Ricketts Glen has been on our to do list for over a year now. It’s roughly a 6 hour drive from us. There’s another location right by there that is another amazing trail of falls. Hope you come on through West Virginia on this trip.
I missed out on Ricketts Glen with you this summer but maybe I'll make it there for the fall. It should be spectacular! I've just had no motivation to shoot at all. This video gives me a needed kick!
Thanks for another great video. PA would be doable for us. I love the shots you are getting. Beautiful!!! You could spray your boots with bug spray. That might help with the odor and protect you from the creepy crawlers :)
Brilliant stuff Gavin, both you and Amanda just crack me up with your antics, and the photography was exceptional. What amazing photos you took, that most certainly is the best waterfalls yet. I would also like to say, you were in good spirits in this video, must have been all that sleep you got, maybe you should have a long lie more often it might help you get more subscribers cos your not so miserable. Hahaha, I am only joking, I loved the video and it certainly put a smile on my face. Cheers ! 😁👍
Great work Gav, That Hasselblad colour science is next level. Great waterfall pics, they are kind of like a Michael Bolton love song, a bit cringe but you can't help but like them.
Enjoyed this video. Ricketts Glen is a beautiful place. Tip for you. Wear wool sock liners with summer weight wool socks. Will help keep your feet dry. You can always spray toes with anti perspirant deodorant spray to help stop feet from sweating. Works well in winter too. Dry feet warm feet. Thanks.
Ive had some good luck with lensrentals - thumbs up. Also, I dont feel that Amanda was acting with the smell 😂Perhaps give merino wool or alpaca socks a go. Theyve saved me from the hot pickles and cheese cloud of stank-foot.
So far I've watched 95.5% of Gavin's vlogs. And I've been spoiled: I cannot watch other UA-cam vids... :-)))) His vids are priceless - he discloses so many details and ideas about building landscape composition. If photograph has right composition - it is already 90% of success no matter how good it was processed. So, thank you Gavin.
Gavin, you can change the look of the back of the GFX screen with film sims. You’re in Provia/standard mode in this video, which is kind of blah. Put it into Velvia and you’ll get more saturation and contrast that the hasselblad was showing you. Also, to take it even further, you can customize the tones for each film sim to your taste. I boosted the shadows in Velvia, as I feel it’s a bit too contrasty for my taste. Astia is personally my favorite. Perfect balance of color and contrast.
Pretty sure that can cause mis-exposure of the raw file, and would also affect the histogram? That's why he was saying he was using the flattest profile he could find on both cameras
Northern Minnesota has quite a few waterfalls if you ever get around to that neck of the woods. My most favorite place in the US is Glacier National Park 😍 I have an entire wall of HD metal prints of that place. Great work as always!

I second that. 👍
That last image Gavin - magical!
Pickles for breakfast? That’s a sure sign of things to come! Is so you can say goodbye to landscape photography for a few years though, being condemned to the nether world of cute baby photography!

And I hope he hits that 100k subs soon.. He deserves the silver plaque…
I'm so glad you made it to Ricketts. It's such an amazing park.
The last shot was stunning and really showed off the Blad’s superb capabilities.
Thanks for another great video!
Amanda's tears with the shoes . . . . I think I'd be the same! Great images, especially that last waterfall. Wow the light in it was stunning.
Ya gotta love roots! Gorgeous compositions of those beautiful waterfalls and forest!
If you find rendering on the back of Fuji flat, change film simulation from Provia (Std) to Astia or Velvia.
Ricketts Glen is one of my favorite places to photograph. Winter is absolutely magical!
Сибирь зимой круче!
Pickles'n'Chumps Summerhit 2023 - LETS GO!!!

Oh my! That last one was a real corker!! Great video!
Looks like the department of bloody marvellous photography got in touch!
Wonderful stuff and thankyou both
You definitely saved the best for last. That last shot is epic. PS - ditch the boots.
Absolute banger of a final shot, Gavin! Wonderful video as always, too. Never watched another photography channel that can induce full on belly laughs like you and Amanda. Thank you!
A wonderful set of images throughout but wow that last one is really a beautiful image! You captured the whole scene so wonderfully!
Great video! I liked the scenery so much that I made hotel reservations for the 2023 autumn colors...at Rickets Glen and Colton Point State Parks.
I look forward to seeing your videos more than any other on UA-cam. Love your sense of humor, the back and forth with Amanda and of course the stunning images you have captured. Thanks for brightening up my day each week!
A ‘bit’ of rain ☔️. Good to watch. It was a stunning waterfall area. 🏴
Excellent value. What a team!
Ricketts Glen is awesome! Been there a couple of times.
Enjoying a couple of wagon wheels and a few twix while watching you . Lovely
Wow well done. Found your next book cover on that last shot….
I think you've chased some awe and found it in that last image. Additionally, thanks, Gavin (and Amanda) for all you do, such a high level of enjoyable and educational content… except for what you sweat into the socks, that can just go to a toxic waste dump.

Smashing video lovely waterfalls
Another cracking vlog guys! I seriously need to get out to the local waterfalls more.
Thanks for another great video Gavin. The tree roots in the foreground of one of those photos actually had some parts looking brighter than the waterfall? were the parts of the roots that had direct light hitting them or in shade?
What a amazing place and definitely the best for last AI wouldn't create such beauty ! Brilliant video all round !
Never ever sick of waterfalls! Love following your adventures as always - thank you
OMG @ last shot . . photography is catching . . . .light . . at a certain moment :-) Amazing
Wow Gavin, That last picture just blew me away. That is saying something because they were all fantastic waterfall shots. Hope Amanda got back in the truck with you.
That last shot - superb! You just keep right on shooting those waterfalls, Gavin. I will continue to "soak" it all in. Amazing.
Love Rickets Glenn. There are 24 waterfalls in a 7 mile hike. Great place hope you enjoyed it.
"oh yeah you twist that in the hole".....dying 😂 amazing images, as always!
❤ your work and how you and Amanda get along. So playful.
Man! You hit the waterfall jackpot this time! Great set of shots. RIP to Amanda's Olfactory senses! 🤣🤣😵😵🥴🥴
Massive Megapixles and beautiful images. The best camera is only so good as the photographer behind it. Great images, Gavin. Shoot with stunning cameras. The last shoot is absolutely beautiful.

I learn so much from your videos. You teach effortlessly integrating your wisdom with your chat. Thank you!
I concur, Ricketts Glen is an amazing locality.
The last shot was magnifique! You are still on top of your game. Thanks for sharing with us.

Another great watch with stunning photos. Funny as always 🙂
Beautiful photos, as usual!
Some very beautiful photography this week. It must make up for those not so good trips which 'rarely' happen as a landscape photographer.

Nice one Amanda and Gavin, that brightened my Sunday up a bit!

That last shot is fantastic mate, I'd say it would have to go in your next book!
Great video Gavin, and that last shot -!!! I hope you two are safe from the recent deluge that hit Nova Scotia this week.
Bahahaha Pickles'n chumps.... I was laughing out loud. So stupid. I love it!
One of my favorite locations. I live about 3 hours away. There are so many amazing falls in PA.

The Brecons take some beating for waterfalls and trees……some sublime images you got there.
Oh you two, made me giggle, but wow those images 👏. Thanks for taking us along and keep up the regime, you look lighter.
Thanks.
Another great video buddy! Them pair or cameras are epic. Keep shooting them waterfalls buddy. Nice job mate
Ive had some good luck with lensrentals - thumbs up. Also, I dont feel that Amanda was acting with the smell 😂Perhaps give merino wool or alpaca socks a go. Theyve saved me from the hot pickles and cheese cloud of stank-foot.
That breakfast combination would be worrying me Gavin. Can we expect an episode in 9 months on how to capture baptism images 🤔

@@davidellinsworth3299 no, I don’t believe it does. I believe if you’re shooting in raw, it’ll meter for the raw file, not the back screen
Pickles and Chomps for the win👍😃 but Watercress comes in at a close second 😲 btw the waterfall images are beautiful👀👍
Thanks Gavin. I really learn a lot and enjoy watching your videos!
Keep shooting the waterfalls :) No need to apologize--lovey work!
Northern Minnesota has quite a few waterfalls if you ever get around to that neck of the woods.
My most favorite place in the US is Glacier National Park 😍 I have an entire wall of HD metal prints of that place.
Great work as always!
Loved this vlog Gavin .
So funny with Amanda too .
Psssst how can you feel so recharged after 12 hours Kip .
I usually feel even more tired .
Is it about time uncle grumpy made an appearance.
I’ll pop over and be grumpy if you pay my airfare lol . Just joshing
Kind regards Mart in the UK x
I liked the first shot but Yes you did save the best for last, a Spectacular shot mate, many thanks guys, very funny, great video.
