2014 NFC playoffs: Lions get screwed on a bad PI call against Dallas and loses Cowboys are screwed over on a horrible non-catch call against GB and loses GB chokes a 16-0 lead against Seattle and loses Seattle throws an INT on the 1 yard line and loses the SB
This was the year of heartbreak in the NFC. Dallas narrowly beats the Lions, then loses to the Packers with the Dez Bryant catch/no catch play, the Packers then blow a lead to lose to Seattle in OT, then Seattle blows their chance to beat the Patriots on the goal line in the Super Bowl. At least we were all in the same boat, I guess. Gotta respect the Seahawks for never ever quitting on a game. I'm sure it'll be a good game this Sunday at Lambeau!
@@1990Thunderbolt Indeed! After that blowout by the Chiefs Monday night early in the season, and the media saying "is Brady done? Are the Patriots done?" the only game they lost was at Lambeau to the Packers. That's it. Amazing.
Just got to relive this game again.... I was very privileged to be there and see it live. I can still feel the rollercoaster of anxiety and joy 9 years later. My friend and I were standing there in the pouring rain as the Hawks got 15 points in 45 seconds - telling each other that this WOULD happen. The roar when Matthews caught the onside kick and when Kearse caught the OT bomb was deafening.
If Seattle had won SB 49, what kind of legend would Kearse have been when you think about this game ending TD and the crazy catch at the end of the SB?
What about their defense? They wouldve stymied arguably the two best QBs to ever play the game (Brady and Manning) in consecutive years in the super bowl..I mean thats unheard of..but the Hawks were o so close to doing so..they wouldve went down as one of the best teams in NFL history

The way that it fell apart so quickly for Green Bay was nothing short of jaw dropping. With about 3 minutes in regulation they went from possibly representing the NFC in the Super Bowl to done for the season. Incredible.
@Fizzgig People forget Rodgers wasn't even 100% and he didn't call plays so that means he didn't decide to be conservative that's all McCarthy... Overrated players don't put up the best stats for 6 straight years while winning MVPs stop hating
Matthew Smith was doing a lot better in this game than Last week against Dallas. He moved better and threw better. Stop with the excuses, he was ready to go. And as far as #1 defense he was up 16-0!!! No excuses.
Amazing performance by my GOAT, aaron rodgers! 1 touchdown! 2 interceptions! A 55 rating! Blew a 16-0 lead! Couldnt capitalize off of any of the seahawks turnovers! Now that is what I call clutch gene, impeccable!
Imagine having a bum leg, going against a historically amazing defense, walking off the field up 19-6 with 4 minutes left, only to get back on the field down 22-19, lead a game tying drive, and never see the ball again and lose.
@@footballdude4271 Rodgers and the offense was gifted 5 turnovers and they could only muster one touchdown the entire game. He had the nice drive to set up the game tying field goal but other than that he did not play well in the second half. Only scored 6 points. I’m not trying to say Rodgers was mostly to blame. The defense fell apart at the end, McCarthy got conservative, bone head mistakes at the worst times, etc. But let’s not act like Rodgers was blameless because if Tom Brady lost a game like that people would have killed him for it.
@@kevinhenry4047 People always blame Rodgers for not capitalizing off the turnovers, but if you actually watch the game, on two of those turnovers MCarthy called 3 straight run plays, and on another that got near the end zone, Jordy Nelson dropped what should have been an easy TD.
Shows the mental strength of Russell Wilson! Especially too after that interception on the goal line in the superbowl. To go through such devastating losses and in college too and to be that positive and work harder to get better is the greatest since the Bill's in the early 90s! We are privileged to see him perform.
Superbowl 48 was amazing and I always say that it was the best game ever, but honestly THIS was the best game. He always said that this game made him believe in God. At the time it was hilarious (and still kind of is), but since he passed away in 2019, it's kind of surreal. This was an amazing game. Tonight's game against the Patriots was pretty close. My heart is still recovering from that last inning! Go Hawks!!
Pain thank you for all the memories Russell I’ll always keep you in my heart you’ve always given me so much joy watching you play and now it’s gone forever heart broken best wishes in Denver it’s a sad sad day
At 13:35 I'll never understand why Burnett from the Green Bay Packers chooses to go down after the interception. He could've easily gained yards, to give Rodgers better field position.
what an epic way to win. Jermaine was in my classes from middle school through high school. To see him take it all the way to the NFL is amazing. Let alone making it to the hometown team. Being the last man to touch the ball claiming the championship and sending the hawks to the super bowl. Then Winning it. Beautiful story!
I remember this game like it was yesterday. Seattle was a beast of a team that season and even though they almost went 3 quarters without scoring they scored went it counted the most.
It’s been 10 years and I rewatch this game so often because I will never forget my older sister coming downstairs to see if I was okay because I was screaming my lungs off and bawling my eyes out. Greatest come back win I’ve ever watched.
Two things I love about this game: - All 4 of russ’s picks were targeting Jermaine Kearse. Never loses faith in his guy and throws him the game winning TD. -Sherman playing with a fucked up arm and commands so much respect Rodgers still doesn’t throw his way. What an era for seahawks football.
@rhuttner12 nonsense. They kicked a FG twice on 4th and goal at the One. Played scared as fuck the entire 2nd half. Plus he literally had the game won even with all of that. He gave his team an 11 point lead and the defense and special teams gave up 17 points in 5 minutes with Rodgers not touching the ball.
Well now I’m ticked at my own player and not just the refs. This whole game was dumb honestly. EVERYONE WANTED TO SEE A RODGERS VS BRADY SUPER BOWL BUT THIS ONE GAME. FFVVVVJCGZGZUFZFUZIG
Packers always choke, since 2010 when they won the Super Bowl here are you're Green Bay Packers in the playoffs : 2011 : 15 - 1, 3rd highest scoring offense all time. Eliminated by the 9 - 7 Giants Divisional Round 2012 : Eliminated by the Colin Kaepernick led 49ers 2013 : Eliminated by the 49ers yet again, this time on their home field 2014 : Blow a 12 point lead in under 5 minutes to Seattle in the NFC Championship Game 2015 : Bumped out the playoffs by the Carson Palmer led Arizona Cardinals 2016 : Destroyed by the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship Game
Must be the Bear and Cub mentality. It happens when the Cubs lose in the playoffs but that team fails in the World Series or before. It also happens when the Packers defeat the Bears but lose miserably in the playoffs.
Choking a game is what happened in this game against Seattle...GB defense gave up an average of 37 ppg in those losses to SF,Atlanta, and NY Giants know the difference between choking and just losing...

Aside from whooping Denver’s ass in the Super Bowl, this was the greatest game I’ve ever watched❗️👀. So many highs & lows…Wilson throwing 4 INT’s. After his last INT? I thought the game was definitely over! But somehow we found a way to not only tie the game and go into overtime, then Wilson threw a sweet bomb to Kearse to end the game! One of the best games I've ever witnessed. Everything that had to happen for Seattle in the 4th quarter, did happen. What a great win.
The way that it fell apart so quickly for Green Bay was nothing short of jaw dropping. With about 3 minutes in regulation they went from possibly representing the NFC in the Super Bowl to done for the season. Incredible.
Green bay missed so many opportunities in this game. This game easily could've been 21-0. Those points left by the packers cost them at the end.
No excuses.
Rodgers choked hard in this game. Biggest choke in NFCC history. If he doesn't win another SB this game will be the most remembered of his career.
@Matthew Smith You sound like the biggest AFraud bootlicker on the planet. Congrats!
@Fizzgig Rodgers choked HARD that game.
Amazing performance by my GOAT, aaron rodgers! 1 touchdown! 2 interceptions! A 55 rating! Blew a 16-0 lead! Couldnt capitalize off of any of the seahawks turnovers! Now that is what I call clutch gene, impeccable!
The sarcasm is strong in this one!
I guess he dropped the onside kick too.
@@kevinhenry4047 People always blame Rodgers for not capitalizing off the turnovers, but if you actually watch the game, on two of those turnovers MCarthy called 3 straight run plays, and on another that got near the end zone, Jordy Nelson dropped what should have been an easy TD.
