Their opponent was the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team that had won 2 Super Bowl's in the previous 5 years. The Packers got off to an early lead and never looked back, notching a 31-25 victory which awarded the team its 4th Super Bowl title. The game also solidified Aaron Rodgers as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, and allowed him to step out of the shadow of Brett Favre.

After this super bowl season Green Bay went 15-1 on what seemed to be another championship season but ended in heartbreak. I think us packers fans were thinking we were the next patriots of the 2010s. Been nothing but heartbreak since this game. At least we got one.

I didn't get to see the end of this game live. I had an overnight shift that was starting right as my Steelers were about to get the ball for one last drive. I'd seen them pull it off before, so I remember listening to the radio on the drive in and then racing into the building decked out in my Steelers gear pleading with my supervisor to turn on the radio so I could catch the end. The result of the 4th down play met my ears and made for a long and sad night, lol. Living in Browns' country, I had a feeling I was in for a night of ridicule, but I had some great coworkers, and they saved it for when it was a little less fresh, haha. Sad how it ended, but it was an exciting game. Honestly blessed that I've been able to see my team play in four of them in my lifetime so far (but would love to see more someday).

When you watch 2010 Steelers games, what a D, 14 pts a game. Until this game, where Rodgers shreds it. Dom Capers ran the same system he learned from Lebeau. So, both offenses had the advantage of practicing and designing counters against their own defensive scheme. Rodgers was just the better QB at executing the design then Big Ben most of the game, until the 4th. Because you KNOW Bruce Arians had all the answers for a 3-4 Zone Blitzing Defense. The OLines did a hell of a job all game long against the myriad rushes you can do with a 4-4/2-4/1-5.

I remember after Super Bowl XLV there was some big talk of the Packers becoming the next big football dynasty of the 10's, and why not? They had all the pieces. Aaron Rodgers was 27 and had come into his own, the Packers were young and stacked, they had a good defense led by Clay Matthews and Mike McCarthy looked like he was ready to take the next step on the Pantheon of coaches. The stratosphere looked to be the limit for these Packers.

Idk know why but Packer Super Bowl games are always better.
Not just the game. It’s the hype build up, the commercials. It’s just that old school feeling the organization carries with it.

At least Sanders still looks good and doesn't have his head up his ass! Really though, Nelson, Jennings, Driver, Jones versus Ward, Sanders, Brown, Wallace.... just an all-time great match up of HOF caliber receivers. Not to mention #12 & #7.

I think the Packers are a few seasons from a Super Bowl run as long as Rodgers stays. If he leaves the window is closed for a long time. And honestly this time was fun football. I always enjoy playing the cheese heads in the playoffs. Beat them in the 2007 NFC Championship Game. Kicked their ass in the 2011 Divisional Round. Then they beat us in the 2016 playoffs. My team hasnt been good since.

The Steelers made a mistake by not taking what Green Bay gave them on that final drive those GB corners were playing at least 10 yards off of Mike Wallace, could have easily moved the ball down the field and got out of bounds what could have been 😢
